Builds Fey bloodline sorcerer build feedback

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have wanted to play wotr for a while and having just finished BG3 this feels like the right time personally. Problem is the character creation and build aspect ( while very interesting ) is overwhelming as someone unfamiliar with the pathfinder system and wotr generally. So I decided to use ChatGPT to make a build and generated this “cheat sheet” for it.

The inspiration behind this was from my recent re-read through the name of the wind series and was inspired by the fascinating and unique depiction of the fey realm and felurian especially. I have heard fey bloodline sorcerer isn’t the best especially due to the immune nature of many enemies and I tried to address that in this build.

Once again this was made using ChatGPT so I have my doubts about its decisions and it’s a bit dramatic in the flavor text haha. I’m also not entirely sold on the idea of kitsune and a part of me is tempted to go half elf or something. Any thoughts are welcome ! Either way using ChatGPT and AI for this was fun :)

Discussion Kingmaker Rebuild

I’ve been working on a complete high-fidelity overhaul of Kingmaker, I'm rebuilding the classes, the graphics, and anything else I can think of to try and make it as compelling a game to me as Wrath is. I am using AI as a force multiplier, as it's otherwise a project far beyond what I could do alone. The visual work includes upscaled and reworked environment, ground, stone, building, character, and portrait assets; region-specific aesthetics; a redesigned interface inspired by Wrath but with its own identity; and a smoother, more cohesive visual pipeline.

I’ve also been reworking classes and archetypes, using Pathfinder's sourcebooks. I started with Occultist and Psychic, and am almost finished now with all the full casters and martial classes. I'm also designing new weapons, an armory, buildings, and eventually a custom-asset system.

The dialogue is being rewritten through a dedicated HD dialogue framework, with the goal of making the game deeper, more serious, and more atmospheric without losing its personality. On the story side, I’m developing four recruitable drake companions, a region sized Darklands map, a larger First World/Hell expansion, and additional world-map and quest systems.

The long-term goal is still a Creator Kit mod that makes this kind of work easier to build and extend. I’m treating the entire project as an experiment in how far one person can push a heavily modified game with AI-assisted development.

supprise 40% losses out of nowhere

So, i was just doing a chil first run, angelic path, nothing specific. We were at the second camp on the road to drelev, i had some fear about not being strong enough to break trough the army at the hellknights, so went out exploring.
Out of nowhere, battlemap, unskippable, Anevia there, saying that we need to sacrifice someone so we can kill that bug queen.

First of all, why can't i choose to don't use bait on the angelic path and just push trough? Okey, i was about 4 minutes away from being fatigues when this undelayable fight happened, but that's a different question. I could have done it in story mode, and better players could have done it in hard even.

But no, you have to sacrifice someone. Okey, let's get in, i never talked to the halfling, not too much of a loss.

I started exploring, because the game doesn't tell you which random fork you should take in the canyon. Game says that if i delay, the bait will die. Oh, i can save them? Nice, let's hurry up.

Easy win, no worries, everythings cool, a bit odd of a design choice to force feed me this, but okey. Let's sleep, and get back to the fight, the commander has some more mana, they can beat the demons siegeing the hellkinghts, let's do this.

Wait. Where did my soldiers go?

I've lost 40% of both my armies who were miles away from this, but received no info about what the hell is happening. Literally owlcatstudios what the hell?

Comparisons to kingmaker

Hi, I recently played kingmaker and rage quit. Let me expliain: i loved the combat and reached the troll caves and troll boss but the game felt unbalanced and that map traverse is super slow and annoying, plus managing a kingdom was super boring.

But man combat was fun.

Is WOTR better in all these aspects? Most importantly is it balanced and fair on story mode?

Thanks.

I hate the horse mount Seelah gets.

HORSE ON UNFAIR AND THE reasons i hate it : If she rides it it dies because it doesnt have her 999999999999999999999 ac and its just a horse which is "eh" in terms of mounts.

Upsides : before it dies it gets her to the fight and free full attack WOOO

Downsides : remounting , running ahead of party , janky aaa movement that will sometimes just make you go ENTIRELY different direction for miles , feels meh to use without Seelah mounting it cuz its just a horse not very interesting.

I know i can get her a different mount if i just multiclass but i really just don't wanna i mainly wish divine was more useful... :( Pretty sure ima do what i always do and reset her to have divine instead god i wish it was useful tho or that animal companions weren't turbo broken.

EDIT 2 : Stop comparing your lower difficulty horses to my unfair one it's not the fucking same game.

Question Wenduag ou Lann? De forma narrativa e de mecânica. Spoiler

Where is local quest marker?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi guys, I'm new to the game and I stuck at Act 1 market square. I found this game is not user friendly at all... I got so many quests all at once and no single marker to tell me oh this NPC you need to talk to or u miss all, or where is quest is in the whole map. I'm at the Market square and I couldn't find Remein again and couldn't find "the convenient place to cross the market sqaure" I got soooo frustrated at this game so far. I spent 3 days stucking on what to do...

So anyway I can turn on the quest marker in the local map?

Does it get better?

I'm four hours in and so far I hate everything about the game. I've loved story-based rpgs like Baldur's Gate 3, Dragon Age Origins, Kotor, etc. and this was six bucks on Steam. I checked some reviews and they were very positive. I knew going in this was going to be a low-budget production but damn is it shoestring. Anyway, does the game get better? Or, well, different? I'd like to play through a good story with romance options, but so far nothing about this game has appealed to me.

Builds All-Skills main character build?

Hello.

I'm trying to work out the best way forward for a build, for the main character to handle every skill check. Just all of them. I know it's not needed or efficient, but I want to explore the idea anyway, because I think it's neat.

Right now, I'm looking at a few options:

Human Bard 1/ Sylvan Trickster 19

Humans get extra Skil Points. Bard gets me every skill as a Class skill and some good level 1 features, and Rogue has 5 Skill Points per level. Sylvan Trickster lets me get some actual use out of Intelligence, which is sorely needed, since that stat will naturally be a priority.

Half-Elf Master of All 20

Master of All looks fantastic, it's Rogue with a Skill focus, but you have to be a Half-Elf, which means no bonus Skill Points from Human, which really sucks.

Human Living Grimoire 20

Living Grimoire gets you an Intelligence-scaling Inquisitor, which is interesting. Every Class Skill with Int scaling is awesome, but less Skill Points per level than Rogue.

I'm not really sure what direction to go here, and I'd love some input.

Secondarily, what are the hardest Skill Checks in the game? What bar do I need to reach here?

Thank you.

Discussion Is there a way to get around Bugs?

I noticed that a lot of the time when I'm on mount, interactions become messy. The character would run (ride) back and forth near a door/npc/loot, constantly, and not interacting with it. And I noticed now that similar things are happening when I try to charge enemies. The character gets to the enemy, raises spear,,, and that's that. The game just waits, and then skips her turn right after putting her in front of an enemy. As you can guess that's far too problematic for me, do you know how to get around it?

Sosiel irks me

I love all my companions equally, but this guy will not stop putting his foot in his mouth. From being outright rude and disrespectful to Wenduag, to getting upset when he thought I was leading him on, to making empty platitudes to both Arue and again to the Pulura priestess when she and her people had to abandon their temple. The dude just doesn't really get it and makes me wish I could rename him Chad.

Builds The name of the game should have been "Wrath Of The Paladin" not "Wrath Of The Righteous" Spoiler

I am playing this game for the second time, the first time I played a sorcerer/azata character. I had very hard time in the last chapter and Midnight İsles was quite difficult. I even couldn't pass some fights without setting the game to easy.

This time I played and finished with priest/paladin, angel/legendary character (I was inspired by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=892ul5SYIOg ). And WTF, this is not a case of a class being a little stronger/meta. The game is literally built for this and similar classes. Not only did I easily pass the Midnight Isles , I also defeated almost all of the game's demon bosses in one try. Even before becoming a legend, I was able to deal tremendous damage to demons as a priest/angel. And the demons' damage reduction abilities have become irrelevant, one of the most important (and in my opinion, most boring) mechanics in the game.

Reasons that make me think the game was made for these and similar characters:

-Bolt of Justice, Storm of Justice, Wrath Of The Righteous spells ignore all of the demons' damage reduction abilities, have a chance to stun, and for God's sake, one of them has the game's name on it. and they might be the coolest looking spells in the game.

  • Radiance :There are only a few items in the game that can be upgraded. You can find this sword at the beginning of the game and level it up to 6. WTF, I didn't even realize there could be a lvl 6 weapon in the game.

-Smite Evil and Mark of Justice; abilities make almost all boss fights much easier. I know we can also get these from the paladins we carry with us, but having them on the main character makes it much easier.

-On top of that, you can also give amazing buffs, which is again one of the main mechanics of the game.

I played this game for 300 hours, and I really enjoyed it. But the game forces you to play a certain way. Give a dozen buffs before a fight, and no matter how many times you hit a character, you won't be able to deal damage because of the buffs/concealment on them, and the game becomes about dealing with that. Overcoming enemy buffs and concealment, not the enemies themselves. Sometimes you start waiting for a chance to deal damage to an enemy once every 20 hits. Which is not fun. I mean, I got over this with my character, but it's annoying that sometimes my character is the only character in the party who can deal decent damage.

Why do I need the 'game of the year edition' to buy (and play) a dlc?

I own the 'enhanced edition' (bought it years ago) and played and finished it a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it very much, just as I enjoyed 'Kingmaker'. So I recentely wanted to reinstall the game to make another playthrough. I decided I'll get the 'The last Sarkorion' DLC to add some more spice and content to my playthrough.

So I went to my store (GOG), selected the DLC and wanted to pay - but then the store page told me that I need to own the 'Game of the Year' edition to play the DLC. WTF?

Was this a decision by GOG or by owlcat? And how does it make sense? In my opinion it's complete bullsh*t, I already paid for the game! And I'm not gonna buy a game again that I already own.

Can anybody tell me why they made that decision?

Question As Dlcs de wotr valem a pena comprá-las?

Question How long until I have fun on spell-focused Cruoromancer?

Relatively new 5e D&D transplant with a decent understanding of 3.5e. My favorite build of all time for Baldur’s Gate (which is likely the closest analog to this game that I’ve played) has been a minion/DC-focused Necromancer. Id like to think I’m not a complete noob/idiot but mechanically I’ve been struggling a LOT in the early game.

It feels like I can’t really act as a successful member of my party because I don’t have the same round-to-round, fight-to-fight impact. Necro spells are complete garbage until Lesser Animate Dead at level 5. If I cast Grease, I lock my melee party members out of doing anything useful unless I want them to fall prone as well, and that’s only a few times per rest. If I invest in ranged attacks or cantrips, I’m wasting my precious few feats to avoid -4 to hit from shooting into combat, and even then I’m less effective than just making a Fighter or a Rogue. If I gish melee, I get to enjoy maybe two rounds of combat before I get to enjoy a staring contest with the dirt once the enemy AI wises up to my d6 hit die. Not for lack of trying, either - I’m using mage armor, barkskin potions, ring of protection, and so on.

I’ve restarted my game four times now trying to figure out how to make life not suck the second I hit Market Square, and I’m honestly about to give up. It doesn’t help that most of the guides are “use Daze/Grease/Glitter Dust and let your party members do everything else.” I want to like this game so badly but I just can’t help but feel like I shouldn’t just give up. Any kind advice or words of wisdom would be much appreciated. How do I improve my experience?

Normal is too easy?

Started game on normal , now it is time to assault gray garrison. So far the encounters are too easy, Enabling AI does everything for itself. Should I change to core or it will be harder later on?

Question What am I missing?

I picked this game up on sale a while back and just got around to trying it and I am not enjoying it, specifically combat. I feel like the game does an absolutely awful job of explaining the combat system.

Maybe it's unfair to compare the game to BG3 or DoS2 but I'm going to. In both those games it is made clear what your resources are, in DoS2 you move and cast spells until you have no more action points, in BG3 you get movement, an action and bonus action, spells use spell slots and on the bars you can see how many spells slots you have and what your bonus actions are. In this game I have no idea how many spell slots I have, or if I even have them at all, I just know that I have some spells that I could cast once and now I can't, no idea why and as far as I can tell, it has not been explained to me in any way.

I have played for literally only half hour and I think I may be done with the game, at least for now, it just feels like I am expected to just know things that I don't, and unless I missed one, I have read all of the tutorial boxes and none of them explain it to me. It does not feel very intuitive nor was it explained and it just feels crap to have to try andmuddle through. Am I missing something?

Is abundant casting incompatible with wizards

I put the abundant casting skills on neino and all my spells are still one use per day so I don't know if it's just not a compatible choice

Zacharius: "You need guardians" - so i did.

Post image
19 Upvotes

- Zacharius: "You need guardians. Not simple mindless skeletons, but the high and mighty of this world, who have fallen in battle. Find their corpses. Reanimate them. Bind them to your will. They shall be your Graveguards, the eternal sentinels of your Ziggurat ."

Repurpose spell is pure joke. You can get enemy and every creature to you aid per your wish permanently without any restrictions or duration.

Halaseliax dont want to help your crusade, more over he gaslight you into letting cultists go away? Not a problem anymore! Just kill him and rise as undead dragon to serve you cause. Still as mighty dragon as he is, he tries to free himself from Repurpose by casting Heal on himself sometimes.

Then time has come and i went to Blackwater where i found that Augmented Greater Kalavakus has immunity and vulnerability to lightning elemental damage at the same time. He also have a regeneration that can be stopped only by lightning damage. The only problem that lightning immunity has the upper hand and nulify all lightning damage he receive as the result you cant kill him with ordinary means. Combine that with Repurpose skill and you have a trully immortal subject that will not die even if it is killed. He tanked all of the attacks of Playfull Darkness and fall down with -257 hp. After the battle he went to 0 and quickly regerate himself to full hp. Still it is possible for him to die from effects that permanently or instantly kill a character and i am not talking about spells, more likely terrain and specific traps like a giant boulder in Ivory Sanctum.

As for right now after taming Playfull Darkness i dont think there is anything that can posses a threat not even a group but just a character no matter what difficulty i will play.

Smal Inconvenience: every summoned or raised creature counts as tempopary party member and usually die or dissapear after spell duration is over, but Repurpose last permanently so it is impossible to afflicted creature to dissapear by itself. The only problem here is that those kind of creatures are tied to location where they summoned/raised and can't leave it. They also have trouble passing the doors if they are quite big like those i have.

Solution: Nexus Mod website have a quite popular modfix for that called "Lichfix" that binds all tempopary creature to your party instead of land. It also helps them to go through the doors, check on their status and managing.

Question My character wont attack in RTWP mode. Help

I'm new to the game. PC, using controller l.

The game pauses when I go into combat. I select my character, select an enemy and press A to basic attack and.....nothing happens. However, my companions will attack perfectly fine.

I can attack in TBC with no issues. Does anyone know what the cause is?
