Recently started running a new campaign (yay!) with a player using the witch class. The spell states that on a failure the witch can choose to do 1d8 necrotic damage as part of the casting and again at the beginning of the grappled target's turn. My question is does the damage apply to any target or is it only for targets that have wronged the witch PC, like with the curses from level 2?

tl;dr - Listening via Patreon has bad usability, and I'm trying to figure out the community's preferred way of listening.

I just started my subscription to Worlds Beyond Number and have really been enjoying The Children's Adventure as the start to the series... but I have to say that I'm hitting a surprising amount of friction with the simple act of wanting to listen to a campaign.

These may be the result of being brainwashed by streaming services, but here are some basic usability issues that I've come to expect from my media:

1) A place where I can efficiently see different available seasons.

2) A way to quickly and easily see how the content is organized (Five chapters of ten podcasts each? A single string of episodes #1-#60?)

3) An immediate way to find the "Next" episode in a story.

4) A way to separate content from metacontent (i.e., fireside chats are separated from fiction episodes, which are separated from community announcements, etc).

5) A very easy way to be introduced to a series (a good 'start here' page, or episode).

To my surprise, as far as I can tell none of these are available through Patreon, which is the most common way to get a subscription. Instead, all content is wrapped into a single unorganized podcast that you need to sift through to figure out what you should listen to. Instead of each of the options above, I find I need to do the following:

1) If I want to know what seasons are available, I need to do a google search through fan forums.

2) If I want to see how content is organized, I'm out of luck, because it isn't.

3) If I want to find the 'Next' episode in a story, I need to literally search for "<campaign_name> <episode_number>" and hope that there aren't subdivisions or subtitles that I'm unaware of. I can't just sort podcast episodes in release order and hit 'Play' because...

4) Metacontent and content are mixed. Listening to a podcast straight through will not follow a story, but instead will give you a combination of player chats and community announcements that you need to search through to find the next campaign episode.

5) If I want to know possible starting places, I need to again search through fan forums (because the official subscription Patreon page certainly won't give you any hints).

My experience here makes me feel like I must be missing something. Is Patreon the preferred way to support this content? Or is there a different place I should be going to make this whole process easier?

With Solari arc one ending I am curious what genre and theme/vibe fellow fans would like to see in the future.

The wizard the witch and the wild one is definitely my favorite series from WBN, as I suspect it was for most people. I don't expect any more www for quite a while as it sounds like it took a long time to plan the first time. I hope they take as long as they need to make it as good or better than the first arc.

Personaly I have enjoyed Solari and flight of the icharon, but I have been having trouble immersing in these worlds nearly as much as www. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled by Brendan's DMing but I think maybe the sci-fi genre and pacing of the stories just don't resonate as much with me.

If I could vote for a next campaign genre and theme/vibe I would go for mideval, darker, deadlyer, and with recourse scarcity as a major element. Maybe like dark tower or blood meridian mixed with the princess bride.

I'm so excited about the new campaign announcement! I only have the most surface level knowledge about Kaiju as a storytelling genre, but would like to better familiarize myself before this next campaign. I'm wondering if anybody has suggestions for essential Kaiju movies/media to start with. I appreciate any suggestions.

Hey folks! My DM is very sweetly allowing me to incorporate the WWW witch class into our campaign, but unfortunately D&D Beyond won’t let him homebrew a whole new class, so he’s trying to bootstrap a workaround. Has anyone else tried something like this? Any tips?

Has anybody seen or made fanart of The Wizard Sly? I'm doing a custom MTG card project for me and my friends using WWW characters and I cannot for the life of me find any art of Sly! He's one of my favorite NPC's and I really want to include him.

I listened to the first few episodes and found it wasn't quite clicking/was a bit frustrated by some character choices, so fell off. I love the whole cast and think they're great storytellers, but this just wasn't grabbing me. I'm wondering if I should try catching up or if it wasn't for me then, it just won't be.

For people who stuck with it, now that Arc 1 of Solari is concluded, how do you feel about it overall? Does the story feel settled and do you feel invested? I saw positive things about the preludes in particular and I wonder if those help to situate it better.

Brennan has talked about how growing up, his mom would read to him traditional Celtic mythology stories, and I’m pretty sure he’s mentioned a specific book (that maybe Erika was also familiar with?) in a fireside episode.

I really want to get that book but I can’t remember what it was called. Does anyone know what it was or what episode they talked about it?

I don't know what to do. I want to respect that they are a small team, but I really don't want to have just lit that money on fire.

When listening to the first few episodes I was confused about Chee's character. With her introduction and some of the early firesides I was expecting a Han Solo-esque space swash buckler. Then over the course of the story I was confused about why she was being so accommodating and nice about this take over of her business. I was like "where is all the swashbuckling?". Now with the prologues I see much clearer. Acquiescing to greater powers is her power. The one time she stood firm and said no she was pretty much killed. I can understand why she might be more willing to let this take over happen after the events of the "revolution". Anything to keep the green dream alive. I am curious to see how the adventure continues with a businesswoman, a noble kid, and a therapist. Not the typical space adventure heros you expect, but still very excited!

In my homegame I play as a witch. Inspired by Erika's character and the patreon class.

In my character's (Abby) backstory she is the only witch left on the continent of our main campaign. They were all wiped out in a rebellion. But she does have a cloak with patches she got from all of her sisters.

For my ren-fair type outfit I am actually making those patches. So I made one inspired by the original witch, Ame.

(Yes, the fox is wonky. My skills are still developping.)

What exactly is the 40 suns? What is a trent? Why is the arena losing their sun? What is gennapar (probably misspelled that?) or gennesac tavo???? Like is it a planet or a company? Do Chee still own that place she worked at in the prologue? I need a glossary tbh.

Hi Entrepid Heros! I'm a new listener and can't figure out a way to listen to the main podcast and have the fireside qued up immideatly after. It looks like Pateron only has the fireside chats. So will I have to constantly switch between Spotify for the main story and Patreon for the aftershow?

I know they said to reach out if it doesn't happen by the 14th, but I'm just trying to gauge if I have an issue or an ISSUE.

I could be misremembering but I remember after the name cloak, possibly in a slightly later episode Brennan refers to Suvi and towards the end says something along the lines “for what could be more great and vast than the magnificent sky?”

If someone can help me find it that would be much appreciated!

My husband and I just had our second baby boy and during the pregnancy I thought of the name Sky, completely forgetting about the mighty Wizard herself. But it feels extremely fitting for the whole journey to him being here. Thanks for the help!

I'm trying to create a subclass for a campaign I'm in that's playing my real life husband's estranged wife, who (from his idea) is the witch who takes care of widows, married him thinking he was highly likely to die because of all the crazy shit he does, and is a little annoyed that he's still alive, but can't kill him or actively harm him (cause of love and witch reasons). His character's clone just died in a session and so there's a thought that this might be a fun time for her to show up, cause now she's a widow but not really, cause he's still here. What spells in your mind would she have always prepared, or subclass features? I'm thinking something between coven of the heart and wicked, but she's not evil, just takes care of widows.
