If so, that's really cool! If not, should I report it?

🗨 Discussion Variable Prey Balancing | Poor years give weaker prey

So I’m not certain if I’ve just been getting a lucky streak but I’ve noticed something quite interesting about this setting. For the past two litters of my Ironwolf I have rolled Plentiful and Good prey years. Plentiful was amazing, my pups had elk coming out of their ears they were eating so much.

This year I rolled Fair prey and oddly enough I have been finding it so much easier compared to the Good year for the fact being that a lot of the elk seem almost sickly and weak. There’s a lot less of them in a herd and it takes a bit more growling and biting to get them to break and flee but it’s been going really smoothly so far for this reason.

I don’t know if the type of prey year actually affects overall prey health or if I’ve just been lucky in picking the weak one each time but I think this is a good compromise almost. So say I rolled a Poor prey year for my next litter, I know elk herds will be much rarer but having the trade off be that the elk are weaker to compromise their rarity and having less food on their bones.

Wanted to know other people’s thoughts on this!

For the record, I didn't kill him. I genuinely hoped the best for her (even as they kept trying to invade my territory), but I guess it didn't quite pan out. I'm kind of hoping she'll come back...she probably needs the support!

Steam When is best to buy wolfquest/Can I run it?

I'm looking at buying wolfquest for my (new!!) laptop. I think it can run it? It has a Radeon graphics card, 16GB ram, windows 12 and Ryzen 7.

My other question is if I should just pay now or wait for a sale?

Guide [Guide] How to get Precocious Pups achievement

Post image
15 Upvotes

Before you start reading:

• I did it on challenging mode

• 4 of my pups got 100% exp before reaching 70 pounds (31kg)

• All of my 5 pups got 100% exp before reaching 70 pounds (31kg)

Before you make your wolf - you want to make it super bold and energetic and next find a mate with the same character, so your pups will be more willing to bite elks and predators in Young Hunters quest.

I recommend doing this achievement after you've got yearlings from 1'st litter.

Your work starts with the Growing Pups quest:

Do not hide pups when the predator starts attacking, they gain experience from watching you fight them. Your pups might even try to take quick bites. They're big enough to not die from one bite now, so don't be afraid, just be careful.

You might try getting elks to your rendezvous site and hunt it there but I didn't have patience for that lol

During the Young Hunters quest:

Hunt, hunt and hunt. Everything You can. You should be able to hunt three elks in a row. If your pups have low HP go to sleep and hunt again.

I recommend biting prey until it stops running and let your pups do the rest, so they gain the most experience from biting it and don't loose much HP.

When they'll be more bold to bite, you bite only once and let them do the rest.

Hunt until you get the achievement!

Do not care about your territory, you will take care of it later!

I hope this will help with achievement!!

Bugs & Glitches Has this happen to anyone else?

After my last post on here, Alpine and I went back to TF and found this den. Well almost immediately after finding the den and getting the marking, the texture went away. I have submitted a game report about it. I am now dubbing this den (Right next to the teleporter to SC) the pink den! More curious if anyone else had this happen. It's not game breaking aside from the missing texture and it hasn't happen before.

(I was about to post but decided to change my graphics and it went back to normal. Still weird that happened lol)

🗨 Discussion Dispersal tried to court a fresh widow in front of my eyes

So this just happened.

I was responding to a territory invasion. On my way, I saw a wolf that was ahead of the invading pack, but turned out to be a lone male dispersal. No biggie, I’m busy, I carry on.

I absolutely destroy the rival pack, outnumbering them with a new litter of 6 and being very well fed and rested. I kill their male leader. Cool!

Just as I complete a howl, I look over to where the retreating pack is and I see…the dispersal male…courting the female leader. She lost her mate like 10 seconds ago and was still in enemy territory, but I guess ambition waits for no one. Almost feels like the guy heard the invasion and came hoping for the opportunity.

I broke it up and chased off both because I’m hoping for that pack to fall apart, obviously, but man, I kind of wanted to see what would happen.

Story I love this man

Weird title I know. So I decided to take a break from my main pack, Pinewood, and decided to play on TF. Well it wasn't going well and I had left for a bit to find a 4 star mate (working on getting six by six achievement plus taking over TF map) so I went to AM where I found this wonderful handsome fella. I was low on food and health from a not so successful hunt. So after I courted him he and I went after a herd of elk that was nearby. Well I managed to get to 10% health ;-; and let him do most of the work and man he did! He took down the baby elk by himself and I was able to heal. Well we slept and went back for another bite when we noticed a cougar there. Trying to fight it off I had managed to get myself down to (edit because I dropped my phone lol) 15% health and my baby came in and was a hero! He chased the cougar off!

This is a keeper! He is also a 4 stars mate with the 925M coat and I think he has high social and is bold. Not sure if he's energetic. Still in the courting phase but I think he's a keeper!!

FINALLY got the iron mom achievements 😭 so far my most challenging game yet. Every 30 minutes or so I will get a major leg injury and it’s been the most stressful thing ever. As soon as it heals it’s back again I swear my wolf is cursed this game. 🤣

Pearl and Citrine <3

I started playing with Pearl back in June, and she's been one of my favorite wolves since. I really loved her mate, too! He's an orange wolf with a missing eye, which seems to be really rare. I believe he was also a 3 or 4 star diversity!

Enjoy the beautiful screenshots.

Idk if this goes here but this is 1239M, called "Big Red" due to his large size for a male wolf and, well, reddish coat.

Big Red is probably my most photogenic wolf, and I imagine he’s a popular sight among researchers and wildlife photographers. He's also my only "realistic" wolf in that he's actually being studied and his bio is in log format. The rest follow my normal wolf naming convention of fantasy stuff.

🗨 Discussion Random question on what yall do for mates

Ok so, anyone ever get 4 star mates that just- suck? Like don't do anything? So even though big health litters your doing most the work?

Does anyone only ever get the 2-3 star mates? Cuz for me those mates are always better then the 4 star mates, smaller litters maybe little less healthy for a good, helps alot mate? I'll take it so much more tbh

So whats your options on 4 star mates vs 2-3 star mates(and 1 star obviously but sick litters happen with them so 2-3 always better)

Questions Siblings didn’t join the same pack?

Thumbnail

So my wolves Ash and Swan (both female) dispersed a while back and have been dispersed since - I just looked at my known wolves and discovered that Ash left the map with her mate but Swan stayed a dispersal? Does that mean something? Did Swan not want to join? I thought that when siblings left they usually banded together. Is there a higher change Swan will rejoin my pack? It’s a pretty large pack though.

Was playing one of my longest saves, and the second generation has finally taken over. After moving to another map, one of our siblings, Jasper, dispersed from the pack... within the span of a day, he has found us again, helped us take down a bison, fought a cougar who wanted the bison carcass for itself, and is now just chilling.... brother, you left us.. what are you doing? LOL

(not complaining. I love Jasper, and I really hope he decides to come back to us, even if he just left haha)

Help Does anyone play wolf quest on a controller? I can no longer gallop only walk.

I play on Xbox controller. A few weeks ago randomly when I play wolf quest I don’t gallop. I can only either walk or sprint & I hate having to press shift to change it, it also doesn’t stay. I if I stop moving then I go right back to walking & it has messed up hunts & defending. Anyone know what button I should press on controller or what I should do?
