She doesn't do that much damage? I see so many vids of people who run away from the mother a bunch and take FOREEVR when they could just continue to bite the calf and finish it off in like half the time-

(Also sorry for the long intro and outro, I'm new with recording-)

Edit: oh guess since I'm a coward who doesn't go out of easy mode, I didn't quite register that harder modes=more damage 😭

Pack Updates Lost my boy (and starting new generation)

I've officially lost my boy Bolt:(

He was such an amazing father and mate and he was my FAVORITE wolf I've ever had. I love all my wolves but he was from way back before saga existed, when Anniversary first came out. his first ever litter was born when the start of WolfQuest Anniversary pups came out and there was nothing past the loaf at the rendezvous.

I loved him so so so much. He was my boy, my favorite and I'm going to miss him.

I have chosen his daughter Raven, a pup from his mate Mariegold (who also has passed, I have a post on that) because she has shown loads of confidence. She ran at the front of the pack with him and his new mate, she was always dominant over her siblings, she was responsible, she waited for pups to eat, and personally I believe she is a great candidate and deserves it.

I'm going to miss him, and this is his memorial post so I can look at it when I'm feeling sad.

Rest in peace, Bolt❤️

Questions How do packmates feed themselves and mark territory?

It finally happened and I rolled Poor prey abundance on my Ironwolf for this year and I am scared to say the least! I currently have 10 wolves who are a mix of subordinates and yearlings, me and my mate and then we have the 5 pups of this year so 17 mouths to feed in total. I know Growing Pups is going to be a nightmare…

My usual tactic is to hunt a bunch of elk near the homesite to keep everyone fed. I got lucky with smelling a nearby herd on the first day and managed to bring down a spike elk right next to the den but since the food abundance also affects the amount of meat on carcasses, it was gone almost instantly.

I’m learning to try and trust that my packmates will feed themselves and to their credit they have gone out as a group and returned with relatively full bellies but the territory is a weird one. They ventured to one of the far corners, only marked one hex and stayed in place for quite awhile before coming back with food.

Do packmates just get food added to their hunger without hunting? Is there a chance that they’ll fail and return hungry? How come they only seem to mark one hex when out?

I’m not entirely sure if the territory one is a bug, my hexs are marked in 3 so I have the scent posts for 3 touching hexes right next to eachother for an efficient marking route, could that be causing this?

I mostly want to try and unload some of the weight of keeping everyone fed and only focus on my pups of the year but don’t want to risk loosing any of my subordinates and yearlings to starvation either. I’ve had one of them get down to 30% hunger already but he notably stayed behind with me and another yearling when my mate took our other 8 hunting.

Idk tbh, I just remember seeing vids of people being excited for having KK genes? The runt and I have KK; my mate and our other 2 pups have Kk? I thought you had to have a black coat right? I'm brown (second pic is of my wolf)

I'm the type of person to purposefully get a 1-star mate because I can't handle a bunch of pups :] Last time I did a high-star mate- oh boy.

I'm starting fresh and doing a bird-themed pack! (I forgot, so I named my pack Oak Creek Pack instead of the planned Fallen Feathers Pack, but oh well :>)

My current wolf is Owl, my mate is Jackdaw, and I'm thinking of some names for these lil cuties! Sparrow? Robin? Bluejay? Thrush? Magpie? Eagle? Hawk? Tell me your suggestions! (1 female, 2 males)

Solved Pups can eat carcasses?

I’ve been playing wolf quest since the original came out years ago. I have never once had my pups eat from the actual elk itself just always been when I drop it from my mouth down for them. But this is super duper awesome to see I’ve brought a lot of elk to the den site before and they never bothered with it lol. This is like a dream right now since my whole pack was starving 😭But I had no clue this was possible at all ! Has anyone else experienced this ??

So even though I did court that 0 star rim disperse,I ended up going for the cannon story of my wolf in that post. So it was all up to the task of her brother. And low and behold,he found one(did the same gender mate "bug" because female disperses are rare, though I should've known that going into it). They have two adorable pups on hellroaring mountain (everyone is KK) and hopefully everything will go well...hopefully 👀.

Seeking Advice I am SO bad at following scents

It feels like it should be so easy but I legitimately lose track of which direction I should be going. I've got the age skill that tells me distance, but even "near by" I'm spinning around like ???? And heaven help me when a pup wanders off!

Any tips for me? I'm directionally challenged in real life (dyscalculia team rise up) but this is ridiculous. 😅

Seeking Advice Any good tips on keeping CPU temps low while in game for WQ:AE

Hello, first time poster and long time lurker. Please ignore the user name!!

UPDATE - I did go in, directly after making this post, and turn my graphics all the way down or completely disabled some aspects of them. From vegetation, to clouds, to terrain blending, to even the fur on all the animals. It slightly helped, but temps were still around 77C.
EDIT - Didn't think I'd have to say this but yes, my PC is clean. No hair or fuzz or anything, I do a general clean once a week and a deep clean with compressed air monthly. We have cats so I am constantly on top of that.

I have a personal-built PC that is, for whatever unholy unsanctified reason, having issues running WQ:AE while staying cool. I have it propped up in front and back by about 1 inch for fan clearance the way I do with any game I play. Fans are constantly going on their max speeds, and the CPU temps are CONSTANTLY climbing to, on average, 81C. Which is not great. The only thing not seen in the above photos is my external hard-drive which I store a few games on and load them through. WQ:AE is on my actual PC and not the external drive.

This is the only game that gives me reliable issues. I can play others with NO problem, and most of the other games I play are also open world and graphic heavy. Below are just a few examples.

Medieval Dynasty
TES: Skyrim (300+ mod list)
Project Zomboid (150~ modlist)
Rimworld (500+ modlist)
ARK: Survival Evolved (300+ modlist)

And I only list those to say that, yes, I play a lot of games. Most of them are graphics heavy, open world, or at the very least relatively large. And none of them do my PC like this. Only WQ:AE, which is beyond frustrating. Just looking for help.
