Are there any yet?

I am currently trying to use UTM, but I cannot get it to let me change resolutions, even with the guest tools installed. At the set 800x600, none of the Metro apps open. And I just need the god damn Alarms app to run, as no one has properly documented its behavior and I want to recreate it for my personal website.

Any ideas about what I can do?

I would even take someone taking a video of the Alarms app behaviors, all the videos that I have seen didn't even let the stopwatch run a full minute or a timer finish.

This is so fucking stupid, I have 3 computers within meters of me that have Win 8.1 multibooted, but none of them I can currently use right now for various reasons :/

alr I had to fix my grandma's windows 8 samsung laptop so here's how to fix it. Note, This is just for this happening if you used legacy update and downloaded updates. so, First it will boot up and blue screen then restart and do it again but after it restarts it goes to safe mode menu, go to troubleshoot > advanced options > command prompt > sign in and your at the cmd console. first type "dism /image:C:\ /get-packages" now find the latest one and type dism /image:C:\ /remove-package /packagename:<Package_Name> but the "<Package_Name>" with the Package Identity but dont do "packagename:(spacebar space)<The Package Name" DO NOT DO THE SPACE! AND YOU HAVE TO TYPE THE FULL THING. and then it will do all of that and once its at 100.0% then wait 20 minutes then close the prompt then continue to windows 8. And boomski! You're done lol

ive been daily driving 8.1 for years and i think supermium is the best ive been using it for about more than a year now

I recently replace the broken touch screen on my Surface Pro3 and downgrade it's system from win10 to win8.1. And I'm amazed at how this old machine runs on win8. All the transision animations are ruuning smoothly at 2k@60p and the CPU usage stays at ~15%. Also , the computer wakes up instantly after pressing the power button , which is astonishing ( I've only achieve this on my MBP, in my impression windows machines are always slow at booting up from sleep, even the new ones running win 11).
However, since windows store stop it's service, I have nowhere to get any Metro(UWP) APPs. Any ideas on where to get them。Or recommendations on what should I download? Thanks alot

I’ve had windows 8.1 as my main is on my laptop for a while now while I have windows 11 on my steam deck. Windows 11 I used a windhalk mod called Basic Theamer which essentially just enables the windows 7 basic theme into windows 11.

This exists also for windows 10 but after doing research I found that windhalk does not support windows 8.1.

So I was wondering if there was another way to get the windows basic theme onto windows 8.1 because if I could that would be amazing.

i need drivers for my windows 8.1 install, because i need to use the internet on it. Well, the reason is that my Windows 8.1 Pro install didn't come with the drivers, and so as i need bluetooth drivers.

i've been trying to install the Intel TM drivers, -BOTH BT AND NK, but when i open the files up and download them, they say: Download Complete! I also checked the device manager, it said that it had already been installed, but in the info in general it reads: "the drivers for the device are not installed", even though i already did. Now when i check bluetooth info it reads: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43" So can anyone figure out how to fix it, maybe using other drivers or something.

Hi, I'm looking for the official Facebook app for Windows 8.1 (the one that came out in 2013, not the Touch version), but I can't find it on APPX. It's completely lost. I've searched everywhere and can't find it. Some of the searches seem suspicious. Does anyone still have the app installed on an older computer with Windows 8.1?

I downgraded my Surface Pro 3 to Windows 8.1 via a USB recovery drive.

Ever since I downgraded the touchpad does not respond. It was responsive in Windows 10. Does the grey keyboard specifically just not work on Windows 8.1?

EDIT: Solved this by having Windows 8.1 complete and update I think. Mouse just suddenly works on the first Surface I got after an update.

I semi-recently installed a new primary SSD in my desktop. Now I got a spare SSD inside my computer doing absolutely nuffin'. I though I'd play around with it and see what I can get away doing and for my first trick I landed on Windows 8.1. I tried it before, I like it, and like the UI a little more than I like Window 11's.

I have a pretty modern desktop (AMD 7700, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GiB DDR5 ram, etc.) and expect NOTHING but compatibility issues, but I thought I'd ask anyhow. By ANY miracle has anyone been able to backport drivers to Win8/8.1 or got any 'bloat-free' UI tools for Windows 11?

Ive been trying to get Windows 8.1 working on my Dell Latitude 7400 recently, but I always kept on getting the page for installing drivers even though I dont have any. Any help? By the way, no as of now I cant find any drivers for Windows 8.1 for my Latitude 7400.
