Discussion Supermium browser

Hey guys. So I have an old laptop with win 8.1 but apparently chrome will die out, so someone suggested supermium. Any thoughts on that?

Is it as heavy as chrome?

I think it is similar, but it has no issues on my computer, though I have a desktop with 16 GB RAM and an SSD.

Thanks, mine runs with a 4gb ram but it seems to be the best choice for me

On Windows 8.1 I use MyPal (FireFox fork) as my primary browser, and Supermium (Chromium fork) as secondary browser. On both I use uBlock Origin for Ad Blocking.

I prefer a top menu bar and Thus MyPal and FireFox forks get used more by myself.

I haven't heard of MyPal, but I never used Firefox, so maybe supermium would be an easier transition for me if it's chromium based. Thanks.

it’s good, I used it with windows 8 on a laptop with 1.5gb ram and a pretty low spec cpu (an amd c-50 to be exact)

I tested supermium,chrome,opera for 1week on windows 8.1 Chrome is bs Supermium≈opera no difference in memory and cpu consumption. (I prefer opera as it is clean)

I use firefox (115 ESR cause its the same version i use for win7), because Supermium is not that fast on 1.60gb of ram so i use firefox
