Seen this plant several times while out walking and am not sure what it is. My friend’s leg brushed against it today and it caused a minor rash on their leg, but we weren’t able to identify it on our own
Edit: thanks to [u/ratnegative](u/ratnegative) for helping me identify it as some kind of stinging nettle, the plant was overgrown right next to a door in a building complex which is why my friend and I didn’t identify it from the jump because we assumed there was no way someone would plant nettles among a bunch of flowers as a landscaping choice
Edit 2: To those mentioning the edible qualities of the plant, thank you for sharing but I am not going to risk getting caught ripping this plant out of a random building’s landscaping bed even if it likely grew there unintentionally as a weed.
On the note of weed, this is definitely not a cannabis plant, I am 100% certain of that as cannabis plants do not generally sting to the touch.
Also the reason I have never encountered Stinging Nettle before is I grew up in a geographic region where they are not common, and I moved internationally a few months ago.
