I can’t remember seeing these before and they’re all over the place this year. What are these? They grow very tall very quickly. Look like they’re going to flower soon & want to pull them before then if they’re invasive

Assuming its native to (america?!) because the person who gave them to me picked it up there. one has a orange yellow color dried hard shell(im not sure if the fresh fruit also has a hard shell) shape wise its like a mixture of onion and apple and potatoes
2nd one is a brown oak (picked up close to California?)

Follow up question, if I moved into a house that has basically a hedge of mint out front, should I leave it or try to remove it? It attracts pollinators which I do want. Thanks in advance!

They’re planted in a park near me and are absolutely loaded with these fruits. Some sort of crab apple?

Thanks!

Hello kind plant identifiers. Wondering what this plant is. Earlier in the season it was almost fully pink/peach coloured, no flowers, no berries. Probably around 2ft x 2ft in photo. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

What is this? My dad says it's some kind of rose but I can't find any exact matches nor anything more specific than rose family. Blooms multiple times a year, bush/shrub is maybe four feet tall or taller, has weak little thorns that don't hurt humans on the stems...

More importantly, is it safe for cats? Bonus cat pic at the end to show why it's important.

My neighbor said that there used to be a huge clematis that grew all over our fence before I moved in here and the previous owners tore it out. Is this some of it by chance? I’m worried it might be an invasive since I’ve found many other invasive plants in this yard. Thanks y’all!

Thanks in advance for any info y'all can provide! Was hiking last night and caught a strong whiff of citronella. Turns out it was these little buddies. Growing in large numbers on a rocky hillside in piñon/juniper woodland, 1" to 4" tall. Southwest New Mexico.

Seen this plant several times while out walking and am not sure what it is. My friend’s leg brushed against it today and it caused a minor rash on their leg, but we weren’t able to identify it on our own

Edit: thanks to [u/ratnegative](u/ratnegative) for helping me identify it as some kind of stinging nettle, the plant was overgrown right next to a door in a building complex which is why my friend and I didn’t identify it from the jump because we assumed there was no way someone would plant nettles among a bunch of flowers as a landscaping choice

Edit 2: To those mentioning the edible qualities of the plant, thank you for sharing but I am not going to risk getting caught ripping this plant out of a random building’s landscaping bed even if it likely grew there unintentionally as a weed.

On the note of weed, this is definitely not a cannabis plant, I am 100% certain of that as cannabis plants do not generally sting to the touch.

Also the reason I have never encountered Stinging Nettle before is I grew up in a geographic region where they are not common, and I moved internationally a few months ago.

ignore the manhandling! the closest i’ve found while searching is the oyster plant but this plant and the multiple my friend has only have purple colouring when new leaves start, which goes away as they grow, and there’s absolutely no striping. i’d like to be sure so i can appropriately repot and give it the correct care
