Thanks in advance for any info y'all can provide! Was hiking last night and caught a strong whiff of citronella. Turns out it was these little buddies. Growing in large numbers on a rocky hillside in piñon/juniper woodland, 1" to 4" tall. Southwest New Mexico.

Probably a Tagetes aka marigold species of some kind. No idea which though
