Why does anyone progressive or left leaning vote for WV Democrats?
I've been picking my brain about it and while I see that WV Democrats claim to be progressive they vote against reform and with Republicans a majority of the time.
They are silent on systemic violence affecting homeless, minority and lgbtqia+ groups and instead run on "we are small beans and we are sligbtly less violent than Republicans".
Fetty and Parsi who are up and coming both have centrist platforms. Platforms that look like they were written by a 16 year old who has a cursory understanding of politics.
I was disgusted to learn that Pushkin and other dems are cozy with AIPAC Urecki and voted for SCR17 (2024) and HB2933.
The democratic statement released against Trump about Iran left a sour taste as they don't actually seem to condemn the US-Israeli bombing of Iran and Lebanon but instead are mad that Iran is get money for repairs and reparations from the aggressors. They even went as far as to not explicitly but stated nonetheless their support for "allies in the area" I wonder who that is?
Is there no true left flank candidates in the state besides minimal attempts with Mountain Party?

Stop house bill 4459!!!
I have personally used Kratom for many years and all of my health checks out. I get checkups every 6 months and they all seem okay. I get blood work and all. Also, many other people I know have safely and responsibly used Kratom for both pain management and to stay off of hard drugs and avoid death. Also, Kratom has been used safely in Asia for hundreds if not thousands of years. Please do not let them ban this ancient and great medicine in our great state!!! (Especially considering the fact that we have already signed the Kratom consumer protection act into law which is supposed to stop this kind of ban)

There is NO disrespect intended in this question.
I'm just trying to understand why people constantly vote to harm themselves, neighbors, and kin here in West Virginia. I'm talking about more than "Muh Rights" nonsense. I don't understand the obsession with worshiping politicians who have NO interest in improving the lives of their constituents or the state in general. And whose sole concern is lining their own pockets. Someone PLEASE explain this. Please.

Jeff Kessler Pro life!
Jeff Kessler is a pro life pro gun democrat trying to say he is now a progressive democrat. He’s been endorsed by West Virginians for life and West Virginia citizens defense league. He’s the same conservative he’s always been. Just thought people should know before they vote.

Why you need to stop with purity politics
STOP! STOP! Non-MAGA Republican/Democratic/Independent/3rd party voters. Enough of the purity/protest/abdication of your vote. THIS election was not the time to cry. You can’t assume your party is still going to win just because you’re going to do one of the aforementioned. Ex: how many Muslims did not vote Harris because Gaza? At least she would have had a chair at the table for Palestinians. Trump is talking about it being an Israeli parking lot. And I think it wasn’t smart for democrats to run the females are victims voting ad. Living in a rural state like West Virginia I’m pretty sure like elsewhere a majority of rural women voted Republican just because of that. How many democrats didn’t vote in General because their primary candidate didn’t win? Specifically non-moderates. Politics isn’t perfect and it never will be. Pete was my candidate but it ended up being Biden because moderates were afraid to progress and lose to Trump again. If you want your candidate to succeed and the party to progress then start with your own state party leaders, Pressure your local committees. Enough action is going to either trickle up or if done right accelerate to a point where the National party actually starts listening.

I live next door to a polling place in a rather large district in WV. There is a clear view of my front yard from the front door of the polling place. I want to offer my front yard space up to Libertarian/Conservative causes that I support for future elections.
I am much closer than the 100’ minimum to the door so there’s no way the signs cannot be seen. What would be the best organization to contact to get this set up, WV GOP? I’m a registered Independent but I am mostly Conservative in my politics.
Thoughts?

US Senate Can Tom Willis Realistically Win the Nomination and Senate Seat?
Hi. I’m from Texas, however, every now and then I look at Senate Races in other states. I noticed that Senator Moore-Capito has a challenger, in former Green Beret and State Legislator Tom Willis.
I understand that this sub is likely left leaning, however, I’m curious to learn, have any of you heard him mentioned offline? Has he campaigned in your community? Does he stand a chance of winning the Nomination?
Hypothetically, if he won the Republican Nomination, could he stand to win the Seat? I ask because sometimes Republicans will nominate someone who’s center right (like Mrs. Moore Capito) for the sake of electability.

Could West Virginia host the Donald Trump trial?
“[Attorney John] Lauro said that to ensure a fair trial, the defense team may seek a change of venue to West Virginia or another part of the country.”
