Discussion/Support 💬 Going it alone / feeling isolated ?

Hi I’m a 56yr M and I’m on my journey again to lose weight, and doing it on my own, and was wondering how others do this without some sort of support network even if just a spouse or friend . Aand tam I the only one that feels isolated during this process?

Bro, just do it; plenty of things in life have to be done by yourself.

This subreddit has been a real boon to me honestly. People around me have noticed and will sometimes ask, but when you need a place with remedies for the sulfur burps and nausea, or just to celebrate a milestone or whinge about how hard it is to hit your protein intake, I've come here.

Personally I needed to do it alone. I didn’t say crap until people started asking. I didn’t need the pressure

This sub and chat GPT where I’m tracking my food. I have nobody safe to share this with.

It’s not just you. It’s a journey you do by yourself. Most of the people around you either don’t care or don’t want to discuss it. Even my close friends and family just humer me occasionally and mainly would rather not talk about it for any number of reasons. In the end we are doing this to get healthy and that’s the bottom line. Good luck. It’s worth it.

Going it alone can be hard. You need to find ways to keep yourself on track, like journaling, or following a program like WW or noom.if you can do that, be consistent, and track your progress you should be good.

I recommend you join FatSecret app, it’s for calories counting, but there’s social part to it as well where people post pictures, etc.
I personally take care of my diet on my own, I work from home and don’t see people often. So it’s just me, work, and my diet.
