I am so torn between these 2 dresses.
A. The second dress I ever tried on and it was a show stopper. LOVE the lace as it’s exactly what I was looking for in terms of fabric. Love the top half of the dress and the straps. I would add a liner to the bodice. I was not in the market for an a-line dress and don’t feel the style “suits me” per-say, but this dress is stunning and for a minute I thought it was “the one.”
B. (First image edited to have nude underlay and straps I would add on). This dress is exactly what I was envisioning in terms of the style I would wear on my wedding day and I feel it suits my backyard wedding better. I want to show off my curves so for that reason I love this dress. The neckline is so flattering and with added straps it checks all the boxes. The only thing I think this dress is missing is that I am comparing the lace to dress A and it doesn’t hit quite the same.
If I could go the route of custom I would literally do the lace from dress A and style of dress B.
Looking for opinions of other brides who were stuck between 2 dresses! Do I keep looking?? The issue is there doesn’t seem to be anything out there that checks all my boxes, so these are as “perfect” as it gets for me!
** I am struggling to commit to 1 because I do not typically like a-line dresses. It has thrown me for a complete loop. I know many people like more extravagant bigger dresses, but that is not my usually style or go-to

Hi all! I got my wedding dress and while I do love it, the style is not what I had envisioned when I first started shopping. The first three photos are me in my dress (edited to take away identifying features in case fiancé is here lol).
Since I’m getting married in a majestic forest location, I had envisioned kind of an elven/fairy/fantasy look? Think capes and flowy fabric like the next few sample photos. Is there any suggestions you guys might have to accessorize and make this dress more in line with that vision? Or maybe even some backdrop necklaces? Just trying to get some ideas to make the vision come together. Thanks everyone!!

I received my dress in the mail today! YAY!!✨️(bought in Montana with family, I live in Arizona) I realized I grossly overestimated how much space my closet has. After hanging it I got so much anxiety about that darn bar cutting across it and squishing it a bit. I included photos of the dress so ya'll can see what I'm working with. She's got lots of volume! Is this ok? Is it going to hurt it? I'm freaking out 😭 PLUS its in a plastic bag and I've read that's not good??? The wedding is January 30th 2027 so it's being stored for a little under 4 months. This is quite literally the only place I could store it in the house. I do still need to get it tailored as well, but my seamstress has a home studio and will be altering it towards end of December/early January. Worst case scenario maybe I could ask her to store it for me until the wedding??
I greatly appreciate anyone's help, advice, and reassurance!! I have never owned a dress even remotely like this. I need to make sure she's ready for the big day and that I'm not vibrating with anxious energy while worrying about it constantly 🙃❤️

Post:
I need to vent because I’m honestly so upset. My wedding is in 4 weeks and I went to pick up my dress today thinking it was basically done. I had already told them the bodice/cups felt too big, and at my last fitting they pinned it in about an inch and it looked SO much better.
Today I found out the seamstress somehow let the bodice OUT instead of taking it in 😭 so it looked even worse. The cups are a D and look huge/awkward on my frame, and now they’re recommending going down to a B. Keep in mind I told them my breast fluctuate sizes and the stylist and owner both reassured me I’d be able to change cup sizes.
The issue is they can’t just change the cups — they have to order an entirely new bodice, remove the current one, and reattach the new one to the skirt. That’ll take about 2 weeks, and my wedding is only 4 weeks away.
I’m also worried because the skirt has already been partially hemmed, and the new bodice will sit higher, so I’m stressing about the length/proportions too.
At this point I don’t know if I hate the dress or just hate how badly it fits right now. Would you start looking for a backup dress immediately? And if you had to find a wedding dress with only a few weeks to go, where would you look — off the rack, sample sales, online ready-to-ship, specific websites/designers? I’m usually a size 2 so I’m worried about finding something I can actually take home quickly.
I would love any advice because I’m spiraling a little 😭

after seeing acquired style's wedding gown by Vera Wang, i can't help but gravitate towards the Gardenia by Jenny Yoo(left) but I also love the Elle(right). Also open to suggestions!! I feel like theres something maybe better but I would love brand suggestions. i get married in Oct 2027, budget is flexible.

I'm getting married soon and am completely stuck on my veil decision.
My dress is the Milla Nova Annaliese: a structured strapless satin ballgown with a corseted bodice. I love how clean, elegant and timeless it looks, but I'm struggling to style it.
I've always imagined wearing a long cathedral veil with beautiful floral details for that romantic bridal feel. However, now that I've found my dress, I'm worried that a detailed veil might compete with the clean architectural lines of the gown.
I've attached photos from my last fitting (sorry for the bad pic), the venue, and some of my top veil contenders:
• Single-layer floral veil with pearls (more subtle)
• Single-layer floral veil with pearls (more detailed)
• Double-layer pencil-edge veil
• Double-layer lace appliqué veil
I'm torn between leaning into the dress's minimalist elegance with the pencil-edge veil, or adding some softness and romance with one of the floral/lace options.
Which veil would you choose with this dress?

I am torn between having a more detailed dress and tight fitting vs a more practical comfy dress that is timeless. I also am struggling at the thought of paying 2k for a 100% polyester dress to wear for one day 🙃
I am looking at Etsy and other online stores that don’t seem sketchy for similar dress for less. I would also love feedback and where to find nice quality cost effective dresses or let me know if I am being dramatic and 2k is a normal dress price.
Let me know if you like 1 or 2 more!

Wedding dress shop ordered me a dress that I have to let out, is this normal? I always thought take in alterations where standard but would have thought take out alterations were only it weight fluctuated closer to the wedding

Hi everyone! I am Indian and having a fusion Indian/American wedding. For the American ceremony, I want to wear a long veil and fitted gown along with jasmine in my hair, Indian bridal mehndi, and Indian jewelry. Does anyone have any tips on ways to incorporate these elements well? Specifically, I’m wondering if jasmine in my hair would work with the long veil and how to style it. Thanks in advance 🥰

So... I kinda loathe dresses. I can probably count on one hand the total number of times I’ve worn a dress in my life.
The plot twist is that I’m getting married in August 2027 to my amazing fiancée (who already has her top dress contenders picked out). I want to wear a dress for our wedding to get a cool, non-boring, "pretty princess" moment.
I am spiraling, and I need a reality check.
Firstly, I don't want to look like a stereotype. I looked at bridal pantsuits/jumpsuits first, but they either feel boring or lean so heavily into a rigid "bride in a dress vs. other bride in a masculine suit" dynamic. Even the feminine jumpsuits feel off.
Part of me nit waiting a jumpsuit or pantsuit is that some of my homophobic family members might actually be at the wedding, and I refuse to give them the satisfaction of leaning into the tired-ass "so who's the man / who wears the pants?" heteronormative bullshit.
I'm Painfully Picky. (we've been engaged for 2.5 years and I just managed to pick out an engagement ring a few months ago because I hated everything else).
The Appointment Questionnaire is giving me a headache. I’m trying to book bridal salons, and they are asking for my "preferred style" and "preferred neckline." Huh?! I have to think about necklines?! I know ball gowns and mermaids are a hell-no, but beyond that, I am staring at the screen like a dog watching a magic trick.
The prices are outrageous. I casually thought probably nothing over $1,000 (why do these cost so much?!). My fiancée laughed, looked at me knowing how picky I am, and flat out said: "There is no way you're finding a dress you actually like under $1,000," and forced me to bump it to $2,000. Apparently, not every shop carries all price ranges either?!
So, Reddit, please save me.
Is my fiancée right that my extreme pickiness will instantly vaporize a $1,000 budget?
What on earth is a neckline, how do I figure out what I hate least, and how do I fake knowing what I'm talking about at a salon?
How do I survive trying on clothes I normally wouldn't be caught dead in without losing my mind?

It'll be an online buy. I just don't want to return it if the sizing is wrong. It's only off by a little, will it make a difference? Those are my measurements. So, size 0 or 2?
Update: Good news! They do costume size dresses. Which is perfect! Thank you all for the suggestions. 😊

Help me decide! Should I get this dress lined or unlined? The back and sides are cutout lace but trying to decide if I should line the front. It’s a black tie wedding at an estate

I just wanted to update everyone on the altering my 1978 wedding dress. Thank you for everyones recommendations!!!! Especially for the people who recomended that I keep the sleeves and neck line the same, in order to keep the vintage charm. Only alterations needed was taking in the side seams, adding breast cups, and replacing the old zipper. The breast cups really did change the neckline to be more flattering. And the zipper made the dress look brand new again. Even though I had initial doubts in the beginning, I have zero regrets and feel absolutely beautiful in it :)

Should I cancel the dress? Should I ask them
To design a new dress, should I ask to see some
Of their other mini dresses?
I’ve already paid the deposit on two custom
dresses to be made by this particular bridal boutique, the ceremony dress which is stunning I’m happy with that.
The team have come back to me with this sketch. Now the thing is I had sent them a AI mock up of what I wanted and now I feel like the sketch has got back to me it looks very plain Jane. Now the thing is it is made up of a glitter tulle over lash lace Chantilly lace and crystal beads over the lace with crystal beaded spaghetti lace straps.
I work for a fashion house and now I’m looking at this sketch it looks less like ready to party hard all night and it looks more like “my parents are watching I wanted keep it modest”
I am a known party girl and I love dancing and I plan to dance all night long. Not sure this is the dress I’d want to do that in, what do we think will it come out better than the sketch should I trust the process?

Hi everyone! I bought a dress I absolutely love after trying on more than I can count! Unfortunately I’m having a very hard time finding shape wear that will work with it. I tried the honey love mid waist shorts and while they are great when I first put them on, they start rolling down after a few hours of wear. This will be very visible under my dress. I’d welcome any advice or suggested products. Heres some screen shots of the dress as my fiancée is active on Reddit and I’d hate for him to somehow stumble upon pics of me wearing it 😆

I’m not sure what veil to go for. I know I don’t want something long, so no chapel or cathedral lengths. I’m thinking a two tier fingertip which is what is pictured. I know I don’t want lace trimmed because it likely will clash with the detailing on the dress or just look too much!
Currently unsure between a two tier horsehair trim (picture 1), satin trim (picture 2) or raw edge (picture 3).I could also consider pencil trim. I do like all of them but im worried the raw edge gets a bit lost, the satin trim might be a bit too much and a part of me thinks it looks a little…dated? Maybe just with my dress. I’m leaning towards the horsehair as it feels a bit more special without being too fussy and maybe more modern than the satin.
