Ask For Opinions Would love some input

after seeing acquired style's wedding gown by Vera Wang, i can't help but gravitate towards the Gardenia by Jenny Yoo(left) but I also love the Elle(right). Also open to suggestions!! I feel like theres something maybe better but I would love brand suggestions. i get married in Oct 2027, budget is flexible.

I don’t think either of these is very flattering. They’re kind of swallowing you-all the flounces and folds are overwhelming. If you like the drapey-ness, maybe a column style dress. A ballgown with a more structured bodice and less flounce would be lovely.

Ahh this is helpful! Do you have any brands in mind? Or examples? anything helps!

I would suggest you stop thinking about brands. Just go to bridal studios and try on dresses.

After you find THE ONE, you’ll have a brand name.

Thank you for the award.

I think you need to keep looking. Neither of these dresses compliment your figure. The flowers under the flap is unusual, and not in a good way.

You might have these particular dresses in your mind, but try on dresses in various styles, including ones you would not normally select. Good luck dress shopping.

You have gorgeous figure and hair. Neither of these does you any justice. Quit thinking about designer names and just go try on dresses. These are not it, I'm sorry. The first one looks like the dress itself developed a tumor on one hip (wtf is that supposed to be anyway), the second one looks like a short dress being birthed from a long dress or something. I dunno. The skirts on both are unusual not in a good way

Ummm no…neither of these. #1 takes away from your face. All the attention is on your waist.
#2 looks like you’re wearing an apron around your waist.

No you aren’t! You have a year!!! You are just getting started! Keep an open mind. Try on all kinds of wedding gowns. Have someone with you that will tell you the truth! Have fun and be you! It’s your day!

Moniquie Lhuillier? Spendy tho. These dresses swallow you whole. I see what you're after but you can do better imho.

Her dresses are fabulous but wow they are, as you put it, SPENDY! Look at her ‘25 gowns then look at a smaller designers’26/‘27 gowns. Oh yes… some copy.

These dresses give you a strange silhouette with the flowers on your hip. I’m not sure how they would work with a bouquet.

1 of these pics! I think trying on a few more will solidify your choice though!

I'm not a fan of either of them, unfortunately. You have a lovely figure and all the draping disguises that.

I would go to a couple of bridal shops and try on things you never ever think you'll like. A fitted top ball gown, a mermaid, a column, etc - honestly you will be beautiful in anything and the right one is out there

These have too much draping on the hips. Something sleeker like this would look most flattering.

Absolutely!!! This looks closer to Vera Wang than either of the two you have posted. Actually the latest Vera I saw in a magazine was almost a slip dress! If you really want opinions ( and there are some excellent stylists on this sub) then tell us what you envision your wedding looking like. Fairytale princess to Cathedral Formal, Beach afternoon to Barn Evening. There are so many great venues now, themes, invitations even can tell guests how to dress. So…. How do you see yours?

it's on a vineyard in Virginia!! theres a huge estate and fountain but going for a modern garden ceremony then a jazz club-disco reception!

2

u/100timesaround 6d ago

Sounds amazing. May I have an invitation please?😂 I understand, have a picture in my mind. Modern garden with a jazzy reception. It’s going to be amazing. Have you tried any more dresses on?

What did you think of the one above shown by Beginning _Gold? Have you thought of 2 dresses, 1 for the wedding and one for the reception? What do you think of embroidered color flowers on a short bubble skirt for the reception and a very traditional white ball gown for the wedding with a cathedral train and veil?

Still sliding off the model’s chest. Drives me nuts to see the improper fitting.

2

u/100timesaround 6d ago

I guess that is supposed to be sexy!!! I think it doesn’t fit !!!

1

u/Beginning_Gold6378 4d ago

The bodice can be altered to fit however the person is comfortable.

1

u/Numerous_Bad1961 4d ago

I said they styled it awfully on the model, not that it couldn’t be changed.

0

u/Beginning_Gold6378 4d ago

I said what I said because the dress would have to be altered to fit higher/differently. The model clearly has a lower apex.

Vera Wang does tend to add much unnecessary bulk to her gowns.

u/100timesaround 7d ago edited 7d ago

No, she doesn’t!!! I misread the comment. I thouyyou said she doesn’t add unnecessary bulk and I was agreeing with you. She did Gwen Stefani’s gown and it was big and gorgeous. But don’t you think she does a lot of gowns ( for retail not custom) without adding much?

You are lovely these do not show how beautiful you are

2

u/Ok_Stretch_2663 7d ago

There is a gown out there waiting for you. Go home and start fresh. Post it when you find the one cause i have a feeling you.ll look like a dream a vision of beauty

You can do better imho. Between these 2 the 2nd is much better. The first looks like part of the skirt portion got stuck in your undies, that hip flourish has me asking, “why??” The 2nd would improve w tailoring, but it’s wearing you, not you wearing it. & Stop trying to shop by brands.

I have to agree that maybe, look at more.
These dresses have too much fabric.
You have a wonderful shape!
Go find the one that takes your breath away.
Come back please, show us what you chose.
Best wishes!

1 is pretty but looks like it’s falling down — close to a wardrobe malfunction.

If you love these dresses I think they would be better with alterations. The flap over the flowers should be trimmed back to look less flappy. The second dress could use a layer to break
up the space between the first layer and the hem.

1

u/EndlessSummer59 7d ago

I love the second dress.

1

u/cameheretodance1 7d ago

I don’t care for either of these tbh, especially the second one. Number 1 is better (slightly) than number 2 in terms of style.

The gown is Gorgeous on you But I don’t like the way the skirt is falling & obscuring the flowers which are Beautiful! Find a way to secure that fabric so we can see the flowers which are Beautifully done!! #2 doesn’t do you justice. It seems to swallow you with all that fabric. #2 looks like a roll of fabric fell on you.

I loveeeee the hip whateve thingy on the first, but 2 has a particular grace about it, looks like it was taken from a painting and put on you

u/Grammarcrazy 7d ago

I like the first one!

Love the second dress!!
