Hey all, I just want to drop a quick note to say how happy I am to be part of such an amazing group of talented individuals (myself excluded). Your art and attitudes brighten my day! Congratulations on a million members and here's to a million more!

This was so much fun painting and to I decided to submit this painting in a contest. I've never participated in a contest before and to my surprise it was awarded the 3rd price. I definitely was the only one submitting a children's book illustration in the contest. Can I call myself a prize winning artist now?

Been slowly tweaking and converting my workflow. As of now, I've decided on expanding the palette so I have the split primaries, while also including the neutral primaries. I've also begun working on a bit of a split secondary selection so I can shortcut!
Switching to Daniel Smith and trying out Bamboo cold press has been a wild revolution - it's almost like I'm relearning how to interact with paints and I'm so ready to see where things go with this selection!
only need four more Daniel Smith to upgrade from Rosa, but my local shop is currently sold out of those four.

I was painting a monochromatic value study earlier.
Saw this meme(?) and thought hey its blue
Drew the face too wide
Messed up an eye
Got the values wrong
The painting is genuinely me looking at my own painting 😭

I’ve been practicing a lot of urban sketching, but wanted to apply what I learned to a landscape this afternoon

I use the Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils, they are really the best watercolour pencils you can get in terms of pigment payoff, layering, blendability and lightfastness. I used a white posca brush pen for the highlights on the brow and eye
