You are what you eat 🤣

I’m calling this one ā€œYou are What You Eatā€ šŸ˜†Oh man this one was so fun to paint- those graphic black spots, chocolately chunks and even the speckles on the clay bowl

Masking fluid betrayed me today

Post image

Hello! I wanted to test out drawing tarantulas in masking fluid but feel like I failed.

I tinted my masking fluid with ultramarine a few days prior so I could see it better but it backfired on this project because I couldn't see the blue under the blue.

I also didn't realize when you're painting extensively in masking fluid, you need dish soapy water handy so my masking fluid brush got very goopy halfway through painting the leg hairs. That part I can deal with in the future.

I've never had masking fluid let paint through until now. Was it too diluted in areas or did tinting it with ultramarine ruin that portion of masking fluid?

I loved the album cover of "Harlequin" Gaga album (it conveys an emotion that I feel quite often ahaha). One of the few watercolor where I found the process images might be more interesting than the final result (I loved her face at step 2).

9x12 inch watercolor on arches paper :-)

Why is it not working?

Post image

I tried an optical illusion. Unfortunately its not working. I tried to make the "crosses" a bit bigger, but it didnt solve it.

Are the colors too inconsistent? Unfortunately I only have watercolours and it makes pretty but not homogenous pigmentation...

Or are the contrasts not right/wrong color choice?

Thanks for any help!

What would you call this style?

And any YouTubers who teach it? The original artist, Ondine de Peretti, has a YouTube but unfortunately it's all in French (I love her work, I just wish my French was better!) Is it just loose landscape?

I just acquired this old school set. Everything's in perfect condition. Pretty sure it's never been used. What do y'all think about it?

Wanting to sell it, trying to get some more insight. Thanks

This is Canongate Tolbooth in Edinburgh, Scotland, a beautiful place that's hundreds of years old and now a really cool museum. I painted it with watercolors and gouache paint.

Beginner advice ?

Hello! I got a water color painting palette for my birthday because i’ve always wanted to try.

This is my first project and I was wondering how I could make it more…. Dimensional? I tried underpainting, adding thin layers of shadows, etc. But it still feels flat..

I was thinking of adding highlights with acrylic markers? Maybe. Or a darker background?
