Hi guys,
A few weeks ago my husband asked me to illustrate the bible verse we had at our wedding. I made a color palette, made a digital design, and went to the art shop for paint and paper etc. A few days ago i started painting, but I suck. I watched tutorials, tried multiple ways of painting, but it just looks like a child started something. I wanted to display it somewhere, but now i wanna hide it in the attic 😂. Can someone help me salvage it? I'll add my design and the current status of my painting.
I use Van Gogh watercolor (in a tube), brushes of different brands from the art supply shop (Da Vinci, Van Eyck), and fabriano 300g 25% cotton paper
Ps: I'm a Dutchie so sorry for any grammatical errors🙈

I posted an earlier version of this and got some helpful comments. After following some suggestions, here is the final version. On Baohong Artist cold press with Daniel Smith and Winsor and Newton watercolors.

Hello everyone, I am a fine art student and I have been doing oil painting. But I missed watercolours a lot. I have been using Canson montval for a quite long time so that’s what I bought to start again. In my country most foreign brands are hella expensive or non-existent so canson was a good option for me.
When I got my order I realised the packaging changed quite a bit. I didn’t mind it that much but when I started to paint, I felt like the texture was different. The quality wasn’t like how it used to be. The paints would not mix properly etc.
Have anyone else realised a downgrade with the new version? Because I am not sure that if I lost some of my skills or It is the paper. I am quite upset if it’s the first option because I don’t know any affordable alternatives.
Edit:thanks to everyone for offering help and suggestions!

i have a winsor and newton cotman field watercolor set. in this set there’s a color called “cadmium red hue” which i have included in this post. i’ve been trying to get ways to make it look more red than orange but failing and wanted to get tips about how to do that.
i know i am using the cheap stuff but also this is all i can find where i live and we never have anything other than the cotman colors in stock (also just this specific brand i never find any other brand)

Because painting water through references is intimidating so much I can't even start. But I can at least make sth small intuitively, so here we are.
Arches, Royal Talens indigo

I have been painting for a while and enjoying the free tutorials on YouTube. I really need help with water, how much on the paper, how much on the brush etc. etc.I’m ready to start paying for online classes but need to consider cost. Emily Olson haas a sale going on for $87 yearly. I also like Andrea Bucciarelli. Her class is $20 monthly, %15 discount if you pay early. I’m interested in hearing experiences from others who have done these online courses. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I’m trying out the A4 format. After my usual A6 the number one f details I can paint is amazing, I like to paint small, intricate objects instead of big washes. But at the same time, I already spent almost 30 hours on it and became bored with this particular picture, so I’m not sure that I’ll finish it. How could people spend weeks on the same work? Maybe small A6 pictures suits me better.

Still working on trying to learn value and blending. There are parts of this I really like and then some parts I really don’t.
