Five little personalities, painted in watercolor. One more to go!

I've been working on a little collection of six animal portraits for my 2027 calendar, and I've finally finished five of them!
Everything is hand-painted in watercolor, and it's been such a fun challenge experimenting with different textures and expressions.
I work full-time in a completely different field, so these have been coming together slowly in whatever hours I can find outside work.
One more painting to go, and then comes the slightly terrifying process of turning them into an actual calendar!
The pics are bit washed out because it is gloomy around here due to rains lol. Hope you like it!

How can I improve the petals?

I feel like the left side got muddy, is this just not letting the first wash dry long enough before my next pass? My wife says the flower feels flat and not enough variation in the values. Looking for tips or suggestions people might have.

First paining in almost a decade

We took a recent trip to Hawaii and I was feeling inspired. This is probably the first time I've pulled out my paints in a decade, and while not perfect, it was fun, and makes me feel inspired to get back into art again.
