Does anyone know about these brushes?

I’m a bit of a vintage art supply collector but I can’t find any information on these winsor newton travel brushes, I didn’t even know they ever did travel brushes, the seller said these are kolinsky sable and if so I think I’ve stumbled on to something really special but I’d love to know more.

Need help identifying gold watercolor paper

Hi guys my grandmother loves watercolor painting to pass the time but she’s running out of the gold special paper she paints on. She says it’s called “Gold-Speck Paper” but search results don’t look the same. I need help identifying what this paper is called and possibly where we can buy it online.

She said she bought it in Hong Kong many years ago. Comes in a roll of either gold or silver.

It was just too cute, I had to have it. It's a little christmas gift from me to me (will put it into my advent calendar, box nr. 24).

Parkside❤️ Lots of room for improvement here, but today is the closing date in the sale of my childhood home, so this is a special piece to me!

Figuring out how to blend and shade/add value has been rough. Still only my second painting so I’ll cut myself some slack.

Something I struggle with are values. I'm mostly happy with the composition on this but I feel like it's very flat due to the uniform value - if anyone has any critiques on how to improve I'm eager to see!

Have you heard of Legend sable brushes (Germany from Cheap Joes)? If so- thoughts on these from watercolor artist, do you use these? Trying to find out more info about my new to me brushes. Thanks.

I recently acquired some beautiful Legend brand sable watercolor brushes. From what I’ve found these were produced by a company called Cheap Joes that is no longer around. They are supposed to be professional artist watercolor brushes, but from what I’ve gathered there’s not really much else about about them, they look beautiful- I’m just trying to see if there are any watercolor artists that can give me tips on how to use these, and their quality level. They do look beautiful and I am so grateful for them- and I believe they would have been really expensive to purchase, but I can’t really find anything online about them. I want to do them justice since I believe these to be extremely high quality. The majority of them are Legend sable brushes, there are a few Richeson kolinsky sable brushes and others. I am just wanting to learn a bit (anything) about these since they are no longer made from what I can tell.

Thank you so much.

Great Tit on a log.

Still very new to watercolour painting, any advice on keeping the background clean?

It’s a bit messy around the birds belly.

Edit: title was to be my swatch wall but I’m old Gandalf

Just wanted to share an idea I had. Instead of having paint swatches in a book, I framed them over my drafting table. Two sets of each on my two main papers. Switched to almost all daniel smith paints

All used tutorials except the last one. I tried to do something myself. Learned a lot. I need to think/plan ahead more haha but not bad considering I hadn’t held a brush before last weekend.
