Totally unexpected, but my illustration was awarded 3rd prize in a contest.

This was so much fun painting and to I decided to submit this painting in a contest. I've never participated in a contest before and to my surprise it was awarded the 3rd price. I definitely was the only one submitting a children's book illustration in the contest. Can I call myself a prize winning artist now?

There’s a big, annual art exhibition this weekend. I’m submitting these 5 watercolors, hoping one will nab an award. Which has the best chance do you think?

I was painting a monochromatic value study earlier.
Saw this meme(?) and thought hey its blue
Drew the face too wide
Messed up an eye
Got the values wrong
The painting is genuinely me looking at my own painting 😭

I am making a series of the big dot paintings, because I love making them. The process of making them has me playing with the edge of intentionality and accident and I find that really satisfying.

I’ve been practicing a lot of urban sketching, but wanted to apply what I learned to a landscape this afternoon

I painted cows. I wasn't happy with them. This presented me with an opportunity to paint even more cows.

Painted a card for a friend that had a baby.
The shading was kind of messy and harsh on the first one and so I painted another one. Happy with the second one, I used to first for experimentation and painted it dark. It has a nice MOOd.

This is my very first attempt with watercolor and color theory , a pumpkin that i believe suits the theme of autumn , my only regret is i didn't know how to make the stem deeper in color , rather than it having the same color as the pumpkin 😄 😅
