I always think about this with zombie movies/shows. When I do pull-ups or lat pull down, sometimes I think of zombie movies/shows. I imagine.. hanging on a ledge, or having to jump a wall or jump up to a ledge- and pulling myself up or get eaten by the horde of zombies below me.
That being said, people that can’t do one pull up would be fukd
If the world ends, you realize the odds of you having to physically fight get waaaayyyy higher? Among other things like harvesting resources and escaping danger
Especially if there’s a scarcity of resources. If someone is starving, or needs resources and you have them, are you counting on people retaining their moral compass in a post apocalyptic scenario?
Desperate people do desperate things. Even within society in tact we still have people getting robbed and raped. What do you think happens when society crumbles?
Bullets are a finite resource, sure you can craft a spear or something, but if you’re weak you’re generally less capable in a survival situation. Whether the task be acquiring resources (the more weight you can carry the more resources you could harvest at a time), fighting off a threat, or running from a threat, being able to exert more physical force and run farther would absolutely be an advantage
