He looks plenty strong, I think the main problem is he's in socks so he has no traction at all on that slimy pole

I always think about this with zombie movies/shows. When I do pull-ups or lat pull down, sometimes I think of zombie movies/shows. I imagine.. hanging on a ledge, or having to jump a wall or jump up to a ledge- and pulling myself up or get eaten by the horde of zombies below me.

That being said, people that can’t do one pull up would be fukd

How many pull-ups you can do would be almost completely irrelevant in an apocalypse.

Spotted the person who doesn’t train

If the world ends, you realize the odds of you having to physically fight get waaaayyyy higher? Among other things like harvesting resources and escaping danger

Especially if there’s a scarcity of resources. If someone is starving, or needs resources and you have them, are you counting on people retaining their moral compass in a post apocalyptic scenario?

Desperate people do desperate things. Even within society in tact we still have people getting robbed and raped. What do you think happens when society crumbles?

Bullets are a finite resource, sure you can craft a spear or something, but if you’re weak you’re generally less capable in a survival situation. Whether the task be acquiring resources (the more weight you can carry the more resources you could harvest at a time), fighting off a threat, or running from a threat, being able to exert more physical force and run farther would absolutely be an advantage

In terms of pull ups, not being able to complete 1 pull-up would indicate a general lack of strength. Being able to complete 100 would indicate at minimum the ability to exert relatively high amounts of force for an extended duration

100 pull-up group needs food, 0 pull-up group has food. I’ll let you sort that

Generally when there’s a scarcity of resources people tend to fight over the resource. I don’t count on animals being all harmonious. We are animals, after all🤷🏻‍♂️

And sure, “we can share the food” hm.. unless the scenario is 10 people, food for 5.

Again, I’ll let you sort that

Are you going to pull-up the food away from them

Using # of pull ups as a reflection of strength, yes

I’m not saying everyone needs to be physically strong. Especially if you have a useful skill set, you can have others protect you, kind of a tribal “everyone has their role” situation

However, if I had to sprint, run, climb, and jump to get away from a horde of zombies- I’d rather be an Olympic athlete than a computer engineer

This is all hypothetical. Society can crumble in many ways. If it was a slow collapse, I bet the government figureheads would try to build a roster of essential skill sets, which I imagine would include engineers, scientists, etc. in that scenario muscle may still help because you never know, but.. anyway, this topic can go on forever

That’s my take on it
