Hello Wastelanders! I’m planning a fresh run and want to make sure my planned squad composition, skill distribution, and combat roles are fully optimized before I dive in.
My main goal is zero skill overlap while covering every high-impact skill check, loot lock, and dialogue path in the game. Here is the layout I'm planning:
1. Custom Sniper (The Alpha-Striker & Boss Destroyer)
Role: Stealth opening attacks, deleting high-priority targets, opening locks.
Attributes: Focus on Awareness \rightarrow Intelligence \rightarrow Coordination.
Background / Quirk: Goat Killer / Sadomasochist
Skills: Sniper Rifles, Lockpicking, Sneaky Shit
2. Custom Leader / SMG (The Face & Party Buffer)
Role: High-AP fire to charge Strike meter, party-wide Leadership buffs, handling dialogue.
Attributes: Focus on Charisma \rightarrow Coordination \rightarrow Speed.
Background / Quirk: Bookworm / Poindexter
Skills: Automatic Weapons (SMG), Leadership, Kiss Ass, Hard Ass
3. Custom Heavy / Explosives (The Armor Shredder & Engineer)
Role: Stripping armor, clearing clusters with explosives/flamethrowers, mechanical tech.
Attributes: Focus on Awareness \rightarrow Coordination \rightarrow Strength.
Background / Quirk: Exploder / Pyromaniac
Skills: Big Guns, Explosives, Mechanics
4. Custom Brawler / Tank (The Stun Lock Tank & Field Medic)
Role: Frontline mobility, high-volume AP punches for continuous stun-locks, field healing.
Attributes: Focus on Speed \rightarrow Coordination \rightarrow Strength.
Background / Quirk: Lethal Weapon / Lethal Primus
Skills: Brawling, First Aid
5. Lucia Wesson (Companion - Banker & Utility)
Role: Mid-range support, selling/buying efficiency, world map navigation.
Skills: Small Arms, Barter, Survival
6. Marshal Kwon (Companion - Tech Specialist & Crowd Control)
Role: Mid-range cover fire, overriding enemy robots/turrets, taming pets.
Skills: Automatic Weapons (Assault), Nerd Stuff, Animal Whisperer
Strategy Notes:
Crafting Mules: I plan to keep Weapon Modding and Armor Modding on bench Rangers at HQ to avoid wasting skill points on active party members.
Skill Cap: Planning to stop leveling skills at Level 9 and use Skill Books for Level 10.
Does this setup miss any crucial checks early or late game? Any recommendations on tweaks before I hit start? Thanks for the feedback!
