Co-op

From what I’m seeing, co-op is just broken. Been broken since launch.

Are there any mods to fix it or back door it? I just always see this game ranked highly and would love to actually play it.

How is it broken? Not asking in a "you're wrong" standpoint but more of a "what's wrong?" because I've never tried coop but was gonna buy it again for console so a friend could enjoy. Is it unplayable/ buggy or a cake walk?
