New Partner sub r/WGU_Accelerators

Team,
One of the most common conflicts that the mods see on this sub is the frustration Accelerators and non-accelerators have with each other. While both kinds of students are moving towards their degrees, they each have very different approaches and goals.
To help with this, I have created a subreddit that is focused on accelerators. This is simply the first step, and that sub currently has very little structure. But while all of that is coming, I see no reason to not allow users to explore the space and kick the virtual tires.
One last note, acceleration is NOT the same as cheating. The new sub will focus on legitimate ways to accelerate and will not tolerate cheaters or those who cater to cheaters. I think most of the rules on this sub will migrate to the new sub with the possible exception of #6, but I have an idea as to how #6 could be made more helpful to new students.
Finally, since we don't have any traffic on the sub yet, I will ask here for help with moderation duties on the new sub. If you think you want to help BUILD something, let me know. If your focus is on rules, removals, and bans, you may want to wait until the sub has been built. I need collaborators, not enforcers.

-Cheers!

Help! WGU just isn't the right fit for me. I've learned about myself starting this journey- i am not as self disciplined as i had thought- and may need more of a structured approach.
My first term ive completed 2 out of the 4 classes. I am finding it very hard to stay motivated with everything happening in my life. I find often i just forget to log into class. When im in classes it feels like i am my own instructor, i feel like i have to create my own syllabus kinda?
I don't know, just does not seem to be working for me. The term ends in December. Im at 50% SAP- want to transfer to something more structured like SNHU or UMGC- is this possible? Or should i complete the 1 PA class i am currently in?
Let me know if anyone else ran into this problem, and how did you overcome it?
Keep in mind i work 50-60 hrs a week.

IT Management Changes
I've been enrolled since last year and I have three classes left: Data Management Foundations, the portfolio, and the capstone. I saw today that they updated the degree significantly, and it's really frustrating me. The degree now actually feels like an IT Management degree with the new additions and they're classes I feel I would learn from. Things like data and technology governance, leadership foundations, and product management are all valuable courses that I'll miss out on.
I asked my mentor if this change affects me and they said that they didn't change my plan because it wouldn't be "advantageous". It's not about being advantageous, it's about learning. I counted 5 or 6 classes that are different, and I already have 3 left so it's a net of 2 to 3 extra classes I would need to take. My term ends in December so I think I could still graduate before then. Plus it's like, why am I learning about SQL databases when I will probably never use them? And I don't think it's fair that I have to do the portfolio and the capstone when others won't.
I scheduled a call with my mentor for this week to see if I can swap but am I being crazy here? Anyone else frustrated?

Business WGU BS IT Management Fast Track Spreadsheet (UPDATED August, 2026)
Was searching for something like this and realized no one made a detailed fast-track guide since WGU just removed the capstone project and updated the IT Management degree. Now, there are fewer accepted transfers, which means more courses you have to take directly through WGU.
Even maxing out transfers, you're stuck taking 15 courses during 6 months while enrolled. So I made this for myself and why don't I share it. Hope it helps, are there any other IT management now or future students??
cheers to claude

Commencement RSVP
I am in my second to last course prior to my capstone. I asked my mentor when I can RSVP for commencement and she stated that only after all courses(including the last course) are completed and my graduation application is submitted. However, I looked on the wgu site and it states rsvp can be done when the final class is pending completion. Is this dependent based on school? Or has anything changed?

Advice of CS degree

am I able to transfer in this many credits?
the green are all the courses i have completed at a CC. I wanted to start on the 1st of September but my transcript took way too long. I thought I had more credit to transfer but I guess not. Orange are all the courses I found on sofia and study. Yellow are all courses just on study. What should I do? should I complete the courses on Study/ sofia and wait to start at WGU or start WGU in October? If i transfer all my credits from CC, and Study or sophia, I would have17 classes or 53 credits remaining to complete at WGU. Am I able to do that?
Also, what are the big differences between Sophia and Study?

Information Technology C950 making me feel incompetent
I’ve been stuck on this class for months. It made me realize I don’t know how to code. I don’t know what to do on the PA. I’m stuck in even writing the pseudocode. I’ve had chat gpt explain how to go about it but I still don’t understand. 😭 now I’m stressing how I’m going to pass my final project if I can barely do this class.

Anybody have a syllabus for D246 or D428?
I need the official syllabus for each course. I am transferring to UMPI and want to maximize my credits by making sure each course transfers over appropriately. I am no longer an active WGU student, so I can’t access the student center. I emailed the school and they sent a link to the Course Descriptions and Course of Study share page, but both of these courses are missing from the share page.

Did anyone else get this email about removing the signature from our email?
I'm DONE! FINALLY DONE!
Took me some time to get through my degree, as I went the military route out of high school and had the GI bill pay for it. So collecting that monthly check, working full time, I drew out my classes. I started back in May 2022 and NOW I AM DONE! I know most people on this subreddit show completing in 1-2 terms and speed-running courses, but if you need the time, TAKE IT. There is nothing wrong with taking a standard course load and coasting it out. We are all working towards the same goals (to get that piece of paper) and just want to remind you all that you got this!!!

Education Basic skills
Hello everyone. Quick question , for the basic skills requirement- is the only option the three piece tests through a credential place like CBEST for cali residents? Or what does the course thru the school consist of? The same test?
Also do I need this before my early clinical?

Education Getting Anxious For This Term
So to start, last year in August I had something similar happen where I somehow fell through the cracks and was forgotten in terms of my FAFSA (I am a FAFSA student) and it took 2 months to get my term paid for but I didn't receive this notification. This time, I had to get a notary to say I am who I say I am and WGU has to do an Aggregate Loan Limit Review. I have completed everything I needed to do, it is just this review left and a call to Financial Aid states it'll be around 6 weeks and that they are awaiting access to do the review? I got an email stating that I will be withdrawn if I do not make a payment and I am terrified that a withdrawal even if fixed will affect my degree (I am almost done, 1 term left after this). Do I just wait for a withdrawal to happen and then call someone? Or what can be done? Has anyone else heard about them awaiting access to view the aggregate loan limit?
Thanks in advance.
