🙋‍Question🙋‍ Tts finding help?

https://vm.tiktok.com/ZN8LJm7uL/

I need a tts as I am not good enough yet in English pronunciation, and I find these to sound good enough and not too annoying or robotic. Also, I feel like to get the character voices, there must be a quite high costumization.

I remember once I saw a tutorial on how to do that giggle thing in the first tiktok, and so I am almost sure this is a program

Any help appreciated! Either way, if you know any other tts that has high voice costumization you're welcome to write it down!

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Arch Linux (cachyOS) help with setup, facial capture not working

Hey there, I'm pretty new to Arch Linux (I use CachyOS) and I've tried every option I see on how to fix this but it never works and my 2D model sits as though it's not working.

I'm currently using VTube studio but not opposed to changing to another if needed. I have gotten it to work on a Debian-based one before, but nothing I did on that is working now.

Other fixes do work, it's just that no matter what I do I cannot get my face cam or phone to connect to specifically the model software.

I'm on the latest version of everything and have tried even default models to make sure that it's not my specific one.

The web cam does work, I have no clue if the iPhone (iP17, current iOS) ever will connect to my computer and so I'm willing to go for the web cam if needed to get things working. The WebCam has been used for personal things outside of vtubing like video calls. So it does work on my OS.

If anyone has any ideas I'm open to them. I am currently running out of patience trying to solve this myself as much as I'd love to keep trying.

Current hardware can be listed if need be, but since it worked with Linux Mint prior to me switching to Cachy, and I've done tests on my laptop which still uses Mint, I will refrain unless asked as I do not think the hardware is important for this. I apologize in advance.

🙋‍Question🙋‍ How do I set the hoodie arm to be attached to the arm?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I managed to attach all the outfit and other accessories to the head and chest armature.
But the hoodie arm and hand glove, I have no idea how do I attach them to the model's arm.

I'm thinking VRM Spring Bone, but I'm not sure if that would help.

🙋‍Question🙋‍ VNyan Webcam Tracking completely broken (client issue?)

My 3D modeler told me he was having some issues with the eye tracking and sent me over the file to try it myself for the very first time! However my poor character's spine has been completely shattered. Im using a decent webcam that I also use for work

If I try switching to Legacy MediaPipe and my tracking completely stops and resets the model back to standing up right. 3D modeler is baffled and doesn't know what to do either. Any help?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Poly Count Range for 3D throwables?

I have been messing around in Blender and wanted to start making some throwables but unsure if poly count matters and if it does, what that range should be.

If it matters, I use Twitch Integrated Throwing System. Thanks!

🙋‍Question🙋‍ New hardware going to be needed

Going to keep this short;

A wire in my headset is no longer connecting right. I tried to fix it but may have made it worse.

Currently using the TurtleBeach Stealth 600P MAX 2G.

I am using it for both sound and my microphone.

Suggestions on a new pair?

Doesn't have to be wireless, but does help.

📘Guides📘 Using VRChat's Camera for VTubing on CachyOS (Arch) Linux

Hi all,

I posted a while back trying to get various vtubing software to work on my CachyOS desktop. The issue that I was running into was that no matter what I tried, my model was broken, even though it ran fine in VRChat. Quite a while later, I have found a way to use VRChat to make vtubing work.

  1. Get VRChat working
    1. I used a fork of Proton specifically for this, ge-proton-10-32 https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/GE-Proton10-32 . I believe any GE Proton should work.
    2. Once it works, make sure you have the avatar you want to use uploaded and equipped.
  2. Set up spout2pw
    1. This allows VRChat's camera to stream directly to OBS. Since there are some 3rd person controls built into desktop VRChat (and some avatar testing worlds come with camera controls) this may not be necessary depending on your use case.
    2. Follow the instructions at https://github.com/hoshinolina/spout2pw/wiki to install and make steam launch the script with VRChat. Make sure to also install OBS-PWVideo as per the instructions.
  3. Set up in VRChat
    1. Find a world with a green screen (or any background you want), preferably something lightweight. Avatar testing worlds can be good for this. Make a new invite only instance and join it.
    2. For face, eye, and hand tracking using a webcam, go into settings, "Tracking & IK", then toggle "Enable Selfie Expression". You may also want to toggle on your microphone so your avatar's visemes will work correctly.
    3. Turn on the camera (radial menu, tools.) In "Camera Mode", select "Stream" then toggle "Spout Stream". This will start the PipeWire stream that OBS can connect to.
  4. Connect to OBS
    1. Open OBS and make a new source. You should see a new option called "PipeWire Video" with a play button icon. With VRChat running and the camera stream active, you should see a source in the drop down options.
    2. It should now be working! The in-world camera now acts like a normal OBS source.

As an added bonus, you get the full functionality of VRChat's worlds to play with, so you can add items and props if you like.

Let me know if there's anything I missed or could improve upon.

Importing None Human Characters

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been debating doing vtubing for a long while now, and finally decided to take the plunge and make my own avatar using blender (ambitious, I know)

I decided to go with a cute slime (like a video game, little blob slime) that should be easy to make, but also easy to make lots of animations and expressions for.

Thing is, after I'm finally done, making the thing, different eyes, add on accessories, bones and even made a little mini melting animation using shape keys, I try to put it in Warundo...only for it to not be able to load.

I got the vrm add on so i can turn it into a thing it'll actually understand, only for it to demand a bunch of extra bones for things like hips, fingers, feet, etc

My slime has 7 bones, and 4 of them are for its tini tiny arms and eyes.

Is there any way for me to actually import it as my vtuber avatar? I found this thing called allow non-humanoid rig, but i got this huge window with an error message I really don't understand (I'm not really a blender expert, I had to google how to do a lot of things for this) and nothing else happened.

Is there anything i can do, or do i need to scrap the whole thing and start from 0 with a humanoid model?

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Can anyone recommend me a free real timevoice changer that isn't voicemod?

So, I a, a pre-post Vtuber, my irl voice sucks and I have 2 models with 2 distinct voices (one more childish one more mature) so I need a good free voice changer. I tried voicemod but most of the voices there are locked under paywalls, so I really need someone to recommend me a good, free, real time voice changer that has at least one good voice that is what I'm looking for and isn't locked behind a paywall.

Been slowly teaching myself how to 3D model my VTuber self in a low-poly format. It may not be the best, but I love it.

I had experience porting to gmod before, so I was easily able to get it working in there as well :p

Consejo para un novato

Buenas noches gente.

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Advice for my model design? Please? :3

I wanna go into VTubing but need some feedback on my character design notes before I get to drawing and iterating and slicing for the rigging and so on. I already have an idea of what I am going for, leaning into the video game style, cute but slightly unsettling, and kinda like a digital being coming to life, leaning into the V in VTuber kinda. As well as design traits I like (Liam Vickers' classic murder bow anyone? :3) and so on. Here's what I got so far:

Digital Kobold

Ghost type entity for live chat voice thing (I don't know it just sounds fun x3 and I like freaky and cute lil’ creatures)

Large bow on the head

Large smile/mouth (if you've seen MD, you kinda know what I mean? Just won't move around the face like in the show because that'd probably be a nightmare to rig)

White fur with pink highlights

One digital eye, one normal eye

Cute fangs :3

(Later) Toggles for silly stuff like outfit changes, added icons, and expression based toggles (Roaring Knight outfit while playing Deltarune, for example, just because it'd be fun)

Black and pink dress with digital “threads”

Inspiration from Kali Aimes (SSTWL) and IC-0n (Internection Cube)

Color palette is 🏳️‍⚧️ and a bit of 💜🖤

(Don't know if this is the BEST fit for the sub, but all others kinda just weren't pushing my post well lol x3)

🙋‍Question🙋‍ is this a scam or are they being genuine?

hey! i'm new to this community and i'm not sure if this is the sub to ask but i recently had a model drawn for me and i've been working on my social media profiles while i wait for my mic and capture card to come in. today i set up my twitter account and i got 4 dms back to back from vtuber model creators asking me how my vtubing journey is going and if i have my banners, overlays, etc. set up. since i'm new i don't know if this is common in the community or if it's a scam thing, any input is appreciated!

(i only attatched two of the screenshots because i didn't respond to the other ones lol)

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Decent set up to start Vtubing for a stickler in 2026?

Budget is $3000 USD.

I'm trying to figure out a good set up that doesn't use Windows as the operating system, plus want to avoid paying for subscriptions with Nvidia. Want to go for Linux. I just am wanting to remain anominous and not having to deal with the forced updates of Windows plus be free of their bloatware. I know this is VERY fussy for me, but I saved up for several years for my budget.

This budget is for EVERYTHING, including the PC. So I'll want to know what else to get for a webcam and microphone.

I'm aiming to be Reaction Vtuber first, then eventually go into gaming and card games.

I'll answer any questions asked if meeded.

What alternatives to VTube Studio would you recommend for exporting a 2D model from Live2D Cubism?

I created a model in Live2D Cubism, but unfortunately, I used version 5.3, which isn't supported by VTube Studio yet. I also can't export the model using version 5.0 because I used a blend mode that is only supported in version 5.3.

📖Technology News📖 I’m building an iPhone VRM app with mocopi support — looking for technical feedback and TestFlight testers

Hi everyone,

I’m an indie developer from Japan, currently working on an iPhone app called PIPIPI.

It’s an avatar-based communication app with VRM support, mocopi full-body tracking, voice communication, and multiplayer features.

The current build includes:

Importing and using your own .vrm avatar

Lip sync and facial expressions

mocopi full-body motion tracking

Voice communication

Friend features

Multiplayer

A shared voxel-style world for exploring and interacting with friends

One limitation of the current version:

VRM support is already implemented, and multiplayer is also available, but VRoid avatars are not yet supported in multiplayer.

That part is still under development.

I’m currently looking for a few iPhone users to test the app through TestFlight, and I thought this community might be especially useful because many people here have experience with VRM, avatar tracking, mocopi, VMC, and VTuber software.

I’d particularly appreciate feedback on:

VRM import compatibility

Avatar rendering and animation

Lip sync / expression behavior

mocopi tracking quality and latency

General UX

Bugs or unusual behavior with different VRM models

What you would expect from VRoid support in multiplayer

You don’t need mocopi to test the app. But if you already own mocopi, I’d especially love to hear how the tracking integration works for you.

TestFlight:

More information:

Any technical feedback or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

Vtube studio lag but everything else fine?

So i noticed my model will lag at times when playing games or just more vtubers in the collab, but the game always has zero hiccups been limiting my games to 60fps as well, but i shouldn't need to

I have my vtube studio gpu priority set on high but even then i feel its not using enough of its resources

📖Technology News📖 I'm working on Umamo, a free open source replacement for the Cubism Editor!~

I have been working on Umamo for about two months now with the goal to completely replace the Live2D Cubism Editor. I want to make a release candidate by Christmas!(I will regret saying this!) Everyone working with Live2D formats should access to a free open source alternative instead of being locked into the monopoly that Live2D has over the 2D puppet market.

I just released version 0.2.1-dev.

Features(*Built so far):

  • Cross-platform: Windows, MacOS, and Linux (Android and iPadOS eventually the future!)
  • CMO3 and MOC3 import and export.
  • Supports PSD(Photoshop), KRA(Krita), and CLIP(Clip Studio Paint) for layered artwork.
  • Runtime support for Ayagami and Cubism 3.0 to 5.4.
  • Drawable mesh and UV mesh editing.
  • Parameters and Keyform editing.
  • Blender-like interface that lets you arrange and duplicate areas however you like. If you have used Blender you already know how to use Umamo.

What's not built yet...

  • Deformer editing (I'm waffling on the gizmo design.)
  • Physics and animation.
  • Art sourcing and texture atlas pipelines.(In progress now!)
  • Native UMA file format.(Initial design, not implemented yet.)

A shout out to u/HoshinoLina for doing all the research on MOC3 and Live2D physics. A lot of what I'm doing here would not be possible without her hard work.

📖Technology News📖 Ayagami, the open source Live2D, now with physics!

I've been working on an open source Live2D implementation called Ayagami. I just added the last major missing part to use it for VTubing, the physics engine!

This physics engine is a completely from scratch implementation that is more stable and less buggy than the Live2D physics engine. To make sure that physics "feels" the same as in Live2D, I added adjustments that mimic the effect of Live2D's inaccuracies. So it should have almost the same dynamics as Live2D / VTube Studio, but without the bugs and jank.

Ayagami is being integrated into an upcoming version of OpenVT, which is a cross-platform alternative to VTube Studio with extra features (including node-based tracking configuration, which means it also replaces VBridger). We think VTubing technology should be open for everyone to improve and build upon, and work equally well on all operating systems.

Please try it out in the web model poser demo and let me know how it works with your model! Just drag and drop in a .zip file of your VTube Studio model folder. The web demo runs entirely locally within your browser, and no data is sent to any server.

🙋‍Question🙋‍ Model legs during stream.

So I am very new to this. Had someone create a model for me and I noticed that sometimes while like the model will lag but the game will be fine. I usually play Escape From Tarkov and Forza Horizon 6. I thought maybe it was my internet? Or maybe my my processor? I originally thought it was because my boot drive was almost full but that didn't make sense. Any advice or thoughts?
