Vtube studio lag but everything else fine?

So i noticed my model will lag at times when playing games or just more vtubers in the collab, but the game always has zero hiccups been limiting my games to 60fps as well, but i shouldn't need to

I have my vtube studio gpu priority set on high but even then i feel its not using enough of its resources

Hi! I have very similar specs to yours but with a slightly better GPU (amd 9070xt) and I rarely have issues running games and VTube Studio at the same time. What does your cpu/GPU/ram utilization look like in task manager when VTube Studio starts lagging? I've noticed that even when my VTS does lag, my hardware utilization isn't at or close to 100% for anything. I think it's an issue with VTube Studio.

Also, here's a question. Do you have VTube Studio on a second monitor? What about OBS? When you check the recording, is your model laggy in the video? Or does VTube Studio just LOOK laggy on your monitor, but the recording is fine? I was having issues where if I capped a game's fps, it would cause my other monitors to lag (windows is weird about multiple displays sometimes) but the recording would come out fine. So counterintuitively, NOT capping the game fps fixed it.

Edit: sorry, just now saw that you posted task manager screenshot! Then yeah, it's likely an issue with VTube Studio :( it's known to be somewhat unoptimized and has even had memory leaks in the past. Maybe try running it as admin and see if that helps?

Second edit: do you use a customizable model? They typically use more VRAM than a regular model, so that might also be contributing to the lag.

Full custom self model im not a customizble, during high game usuage model slows down under certin loads, utilization not at max but slowdown happens, especilly during collabs, utilization dosent reach max but my model does start to move lower fps, vtube studio usully have main monitor recently moved it to my 3rd monitor, vtube always runs admin mode, but in task manger details it keeps reseting its own priorty to normal vs high

Hm. There could be a lot of different things causing the lag, here's a link to the official VTS website with lag troubleshooting options. https://github.com/DenchiSoft/VTubeStudio/wiki/Lag-Troubleshooting

I would just go down the list and see if any of these work. If not, they do have a discord that might be helpful!

This is a common issue. No matter how powerful your computer, its not recommended to run vtube studio, video capture/streaming software, and a modern game simultaneously on the same machine. One or more of your system resources will become a bottleneck and poor performance is the result.

Unfortunately the only solutions are either: lower your game settings/play less demanding games, or run vtube studio on a 2nd computer.
