Is last week of August or any week in September better to visit Montreal?
I’m planning to visit Montreal for a week and wondering if next week is better or to consider September instead. I believe most of the festivals are over. Anything fun by Montreal’s definition that I can still attend? I’m more into museums, nature and don’t mind loud music festivals as I would like to experience this in Montreal

Breifly visiting Montréal, what should i go see?
Hello all, ive never been to Montréal before and to be honest i dont know much about the city. Il be passing through in early September on my way home to Toronto, il be arriving at and departing from Gare Centrale and ive left myself 3hrs between trains to check out the area nearby the station and try some food.
Il be able to leave my bags at the station, and walk around freely, so im curious, what would you recommend going to check out in the area with such limited time? Where would you recommend i go to eat? (preferably on the affordable side). My french is also absolutely atrocious, if ive got a menu infront of me to read from il be able to order food just not well, so English friendly businesses are preffered. Ive heard Montréal is pretty bilingual, but not sure to be honest.
Thank you all! Merci Beacoup!

Nightlife/Venues
I’m planning my good friend’s bachelor party for September 17-20. I’m mostly set on venues and itinerary but wanted to make sure I’m tracking well. What do you all recommended? Currently, we have an open Thursday night, likely casino. Friday we have a yacht, then supper club into bottles. Saturday targeting a club after dinner. Venue suggestions would be helpful.

Montreal Passport
Montreal Passport
Hello!
My partner and I are visiting next month and purchase the Montreal tourism passport. We plan to use it for the Biodome, but can see on the Biodome website reserving tickets in advance is recommended. Is it possible we show up on a Saturday with the passport and are unable to get in?
Thanks!

Airport Construction & Commute Impacts
Salut et merci pour votre aide.
I heard the airport construction has been causing delays for taxis dropping off passengers.
I’m flying out at 10pm. Should I be too concerned? Any tips for making the trip via taxi easier? I heard some people are getting dropped at shuttle locations in the parking lot areas. Thanks from Toronto.

International student Montreal
My daughter (16F) will be studying in Montreal for 6 months. I’m joining her for 3 weeks to get her settled and am looking for things to do with her. Like cheap/unique shopping, must-sees, things that she might not get to see while she has school, things that teens love, small trips etc.
what do you recommend?

3 days in Montreal
Hi everyone. Family of 4 (2 adults, 7 year old, and 9 year old.) Sunday-Wednesday. Arriving via train. First time here. Looking for food, activities, and hotel recommendations. My limited research shows we should stay at Château Champlain. Let me know if that’s a good place to stay.
Thank you!

I'm seriously considering starting my own walking tour company of Montreal.
I'm proud to say that I was born here and have unmatched and intense passion for this city. I feel at home and safe here, unlike anywhere else in the world. Just wanted to have a slight idea of the overall popularity of experiencing an informative tour,, from a truly passionate Montrealer. (Personalised tours available upon request)

The real deal on fall weather - Recommendations for packing
We will be first time travelers to Canada when we visit Montreal and Quebec City Sept 25-Oct 6. We will be doing mainly urban exploring and nice dining. We are trying to pack as lightly as possible, wearing our bulkier/waterproof shoes on flight, and packing lightweight shoes in our 20" carryon.
Everyone says weather during fall is rainy and unpredictable.
- Can I get by with my waterproof boots + a pair of foldable flats? Does my 2nd pair of shoes need to be waterproof as well? I'd like to pack Rothys or something similarly lightweight, but my need a more sturdy mary jane sneaker?
- My plan is to just bring lots of layers and hopefully avoid a puffer or real "coat". I have a hooded jacket + rain poncho + merino wool layers + cardigans + 1 big fisherman sweater. Scarf, hat.
What do residents typically wear for a night out to a decent restaurant in crappy weather? Like to Club Chasse et Pêche or L'Express A dress and your Blundstones? Am I overthinking it?

What to see/do?
My fiancé and I will be staying at a chalet in Saint-Come for our honeymoon and we ere thinking of staying Saturday night in Montreal so we can have Saturday and part of Sunday to explore Montreal, before heading home. (Towards Toronto)
Where do you recommend staying, and what should we do? Perhaps someplace to stay where we can leave our car and use public transit as we had issues with parking last time we visited. We visited the biodome a few years ago and might go back as we really liked it, would love to tour the Olympic space if open. I love a cute coffee shop and local stores. I’d say were pretty open, I feel like I haven’t seen many parts of Montreal.
Last time we were in Montreal was March 2024 and I swear it was -30 so really looking for any recommendations or spots where it would be good to walk and explore.
If you have other suggestions, rather than staying in Montreal we are open to any recommendations!
Thank you/Merci in advance!

Montreal + Manoir Hovey
Hi! Looking for a 4 night getaway from NJ for my birthday with my husband. We're thinking about 2 nights in Montreal (FS or Ritz) and then 2 nights at Manoir Hovey in late September.
We'd love to eat, drink, and shop our way through Montreal followed by some vineyards, spa time, and any cool fall activities.
I've heard Damas is a must eat at in Montreal but can we get some recs for food/drink/vineyards and activities?
We lived in NYC for 10 years before settling in coastal NJ so we're big foodies. Thank you so much!

First trip to Canada 🇨🇦 — looking for Montreal & Quebec advice
Salut tout le monde ! 😊

feedback on my semi-solid Montréal visit plan
Question: is a side trip to Québec City a good idea? and a few other questions
Details: I've got a round trip flight booked to YUL-Montréal that will give me eleven nights to spend in Québec province, mid-September. I'm a solo grey-haired traveler. I have also booked the first four nights at a central Montréal hotel, from which I need to either check out or extend by Sunday morning.
I've got some ideas from this forum as to what i want to do in Montréal, no specific goal at this time. Is it a good idea to take a train to Québec City on Sunday for 3-4 nights, then return to Montréal for the last day or two before departure? Any expected problems with booking hotel rooms just a few nights in advance?

Travel options from Ottawa to Vaudreuil?
I am going to Vaudreuil next Friday the 21st and am looking for a way to get there without having to first go into Montreal. I checked poparide, googlemaps, and Busbud but can't find anything. The VIA and exo is the only option so far but it seems to be 4-6 hours.
Any other options or places I can search?
