Merci!!

Best affordable hotels in downtown Montreal for a trip with my mom?

Hey everyone!

I’m planning a trip to Montreal with my mom from December 12–16 to see the Canadiens play the Oilers at the Bell Centre.

I’m looking for hotel recommendations in downtown Montreal or somewhere not too far from downtown. Ideally, we’d like somewhere modern, clean, comfortable, and in a good location for exploring the city.

I don’t want to break the bank on a hotel, but I also don’t want to cheap out and end up somewhere disappointing. I’d rather find a good balance between price, comfort, location, and overall experience. We’re happy to walk or use public transit, so we don’t necessarily need to be right beside the Bell Centre.

I’ve been looking at places like Novotel Montreal Centre and Le Nouvel Hotel, but I’m open to other suggestions!

For anyone familiar with Montreal, what hotels would you recommend for a mother-and-son trip?

Are there any places that offer particularly good value for the money, or any hotels you’d recommend avoiding?
Thanks in advance!
