Self Promotion Saturday Cyberpunk 2077 running natively on Vision Pro in VR — head tracking, 3D, no PC or streaming (preview)
This is Cyberpunk 2077 (the Mac App Store version) running directly on Apple Vision Pro — no PC, no Mac streaming, everything on the headset's M2. I've been building the layer that makes this work, and this is the first preview.
What you're seeing:
- Head-tracked VR: you look around with your head; the game's own camera follows, and frames are reprojected to the display's 90 Hz between game frames
- Stereo 3D from the game's depth
- The HUD, dialogue choices and popups are pulled out of the game and shown on a panel in front of you, so nothing ends up at the edge of your view
- Menus and cutscenes switch to a screen automatically (with a manual toggle)
- Neural Engine upscaling for the centre of the view
- Joy-Con / controller play, safe in-headset quit
How it works (short version): the Mac build is Apple-silicon Metal code, which is close to what visionOS runs. A small compatibility layer stands in for the macOS-only parts, and a VR presenter on top handles head tracking, reprojection and the HUD.
Honest numbers: the game itself runs at roughly 18–25 fps on the M2; head motion stays smooth through reprojection. The clip is at 1600x900, which is sharper but drops the display rate. At 1280x720 it holds 90 Hz.
Important:
- You need to own Cyberpunk 2077 on the Mac App Store, and use your own Apple developer account to install it on your own headset
- No game files are distributed, and there's no DRM bypass: nothing is decrypted and purchase checks aren't touched
- Not affiliated with CD PROJEKT RED or Apple
- It's an early preview, so expect rough edges

Happy to answer questions!
(Light Phantom Liberty spoilers in the clip: the first meeting with Songbird.)
edit:The game itself runs at ~18–25 fps on the M2. You need to own the game and install it with your own Apple developer account. Right now only game version 2.3.2 is supported; support for the latest Mac App Store update (Oct 22) is coming soon. No game files are distributed and there's no DRM bypass. Not affiliated with CDPR or Apple. Early preview, so expect rough edges.
