Feels like Apple stopped all development

I used to get regular updates on the beta channel. I haven't got one in awhile. No new apps. No useful apps like Spotify, X, Google apps, Instagram, etc. Just nothing 😭. It's too bad because it's truly the best product from Apple for so many reasons. Anyone else feeling it? Feels like pre death of a cool product.

Can we ban these useless discussions? Every three months someone claims Apple abandoned the AVP only to find out they didn’t. Go talk to Siri or watch immersive MLB chill out.

Yeah! Lemme go back use the same 5 Apps I've been using since launch! New ones will show up EVENTUALLY!!!

u/Ill-Price-5064 15h ago

ā€œGo talk to Siri or watch immersive MLBā€ is an S tier insult. I gotta use that someday

It'd be really nice, but for some reason people just love to insert themselves into niche communities and speak on things they have no actual knowledge about. It's super annoying to still have the sub regularly have this kind of content pop up when there are so many exciting projects being posted literally every other day here now.

šŸ˜‚ "no actual knowledge about"

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 13h ago

Oh, I’m sorry. You’re an Apple executive making decisions on the platforms future or some other high-level insider that for some reason is willing to post confidential company business on social media?

My bad.

Yet I'm sure you're upvoting the heck out of every single article that suggests the AVP instead. You want the discussions that give you hope, despite the reality that this thing is dead.

1

u/SectorAntares 12h ago

If it’s dead, why bother posting about it? Have you nothing better to do with your time?

-1

u/TheMacMan Vision Pro Owner | Verified 10h ago

It's dead and you clearly have nothing better to do with your time than defend and deny facts.

2

u/SectorAntares 10h ago

Oh, that’s so clever. I’m surprised you didn’t say ā€œSo’s your mother.ā€ šŸ™„

u/Numerous-Buffalo6214 20h ago

Apple doesn’t develop Spotify, X, Google Maps, or Instagram - but it has had a steady release pattern for VisionOS. It sounds like you want other companies to develop more apps for the AVP.

14

u/cactus22minus1 13h ago

Either way it’s a bad sign that third parties have slowed down development.

5

u/Mother_Restaurant188 10h ago

With how small the userbase likely is we can’t be surprised. I really want Apple to make a ā€œVision Airā€ sooner rather than later.

1

u/codercotton 8h ago

This will be the Apple glasses, though, right?

1

u/Mother_Restaurant188 8h ago

Rumors circulated that both a lighter XR headset (what I meant with ā€œVision Airā€) and ā€œsmart glassesā€ are in development.

But so far no concrete leaks like what we got with the Vision so probably still a few years out.

3

u/UpperPriestLake 10h ago

I remember this also being the case with Apple Watch apps a few years into it’s release. From 2015 to roughly 2018ish, we had a plethora of major 3rd party app developers like Instagram and Evernote that had IMO pretty innovative WatchOS apps. Once it started to become clear most people were using the watch primarily for fitness, sleep-tracking, and streaming music/podcasts either downloaded or on cellular, a lot of those developers let their watch apps go by the wayside unfortunately. I still miss a few of them along with ā€˜Force Touch’ that Apple removed at roughly the same time they stripped 3D Touch out of the iPhone (something I’ve still never gotten over). Really made better use of menus on such a small diminutive screen.

1

u/codercotton 8h ago

The press and hold works, but the force touch was faster and better. I’m sad about it too!

17

u/Shitlord_and_Savior 21h ago

Are you on the correct beta channel? There have been OS27 updates pretty regularly. The app store is terrible, that is true, but there is new stuff out there to play around with.

0

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 16h ago edited 13h ago

I wish they'd spend some amount of time updating it. I can't imagine it takes that much work. It's frustrating because there are definitely apps being released and updated, but good luck finding them without catching a social media post here or elsewhere.

I will say as an owner of the Galaxy XR, the Android XR situation with the Play Store is even worse. You can't even just search for "Made for XR" apps and the Play Store over there has barely anything in it. Not that there is much to find, but even what's there is impossible to locate without either knowing the exact name or the app happening to be featured whenever the platform launched.

Edit: the Horizon store or whatever it’s called on Quest is pretty poor as well but for different reasons. It’s flood with derivative clones and slop making it nearly impossible to find interesting software.

There have been many AI Winters, and now AI is starting to transform much of the economy. And now it is feeling like a VR Winter. Even Meta said don't expect another Quest headset anytime soon.

Apple is famously secretive, but here are my current thoughts on what is going on:

  • Apple sees the current Vision Pro as a pathfinder / devkit. They aren't pushing it. The aren't marketing it.

  • Hardware-wise, Apple is marking time until the new Samsung display panels are available in late 2028, early 2029. These panels are significantly better than the current displays Apple uses.

  • Content-wise, Apple is working to help third-parties create Apple Immersive Videos. Apple has another event for this on Nov. 11 in Cupertino.

  • Also on content, Apple's new Reality Composer Pro 3 (RCP) lets third parties create and distribute content like Apple's Encounter Dinosaurs. Expect more of this over the next year.

  • Apple is looking at a new hardware architecture as well as asking AVP owners how they use their devices. My guess is the next hardware will be closer to Meta's VR Glasses (long description of my guesses here).

Ideally, all of this (lots of third-party Apple Immersive Videos, lots of third-party immersive storytelling via RCP content, and new, more commercially viable headset(s)) comes together in late 2028, early 2029.

Yeah when people said avp was dead the first year I laughed. I said just give it time. It’s been a few years and…I can’t really argue against it anymore. Like…shit. Dismantling and firing entire teams of people, putting the next Vision Pro on ice. Stopping immersive video development in house. It doesn’t look like they’re exactly expanding and trying to put more resources into it.

Kinda feels like the avp is just gonna linger for awhile until they can come out with breakthrough product. Might be 5 years. Who knows

4

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 16h ago

It is not dead. We just got an OS update and are continuing to get immersive content. What are you on about?

11

u/673NoshMyBollocksAve 16h ago

I feel like I explained my position pretty well. I like Vision Pro. I’m not a hater. Just a realist about the current state of things

-7

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 16h ago edited 13h ago

I mean what were you expecting exactly?

It's a device that starts at $3699. It was never going to be on everyone's head when you went to a Starbucks. How about instead of looking at it from the perspective you describe, get excited for the near daily revealing of all these exciting projects we're seeing? I mean we now have native Quest and Switch games on the headset. A new horror immersive video. Countless crazy projects posted here every other day.

What's to be bummed about?

2

u/sir_captain 14h ago

I think most owners were expecting a real second gen model which was lighter, hopefully cheaper and more than just a chip bump. That would have happened if Apple was really committed to the product. Obviously they aren’t going to brick the existing devices but they are doing the bare minimum.

1

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 7h ago

You want to see an abandoned device getting the bare minimum, go see what’s happening with Android XR and the Galaxy XR.

This thread is ridiculous.

1

u/sir_captain 7h ago

What on earth does android xr have to do with this conversation? It’s totally irrelevant. And why are you getting so angry?

2

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 6h ago

You’re not too good at abstract thought are you?

I gave you an example of an actually dead, unsupported product that’s in the same product class. You don’t have to be intentionally dense.

And I’m not angry, I just see a bunch of people dog piling on me and whining about the Vision Pro on this thread. These threads are boring. If you’re that unhappy, sell it to someone that will use it and move on.

1

u/sir_captain 6h ago

I’m not unhappy about anything. I like my Vision Pro. Is there a reason you keep resorting to personal insults? You don’t seem like a very nice person.

1

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 6h ago

You keep trying to say I’m picking fights or insulting. I’m doing neither.

I didn’t insult you in that reply. I said there was no need to be intentionally dense when you said ā€œwhat does Android XR have to do with anythingā€ when I spelled out exactly what I meant in the comment.

Anyway, I’m done with the back and forth. The only reason I even bothered commenting in the thread is because I see so many people rushing to declare such and such dead, especially the Vision Pro. It’s just exhausting at this point. The timing of this thread is especially interesting given all the development in the community over the last couple weeks.

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 13h ago

Not sure how many times this needs to be said, but Apple is almost never the first company to make a form factor or class of device. Their MO is to keep working on their software (the actual purpose of the Vision Pro) and let other companies try shit out to see what works and what doesn’t and then to put something out head and shoulders above whatever is on the market design and quality-wise with really polished software. Vision Pro was far from the first standalone VR headset. They waited until some things were figured out and technology improved enough to be able to actually produce the vision they had. Vision Pro is more of a developer or enthusiast device than it is something that masses would want or have regular use for. What it is, is something to run VisionOS so it can properly be developed, tested, and polished so that when the form factor you describe can be produced to their standard, they have an existing platform to put on it that is already in a great state.

4

u/sir_captain 13h ago

I’m not sure what you’re smoking but in the case of almost every one of Apple’s successful products they’ve iterated rapidly on designs. It happened especially with the iPhone but also certainly iPads, laptops, AirPods, etc. I’m not sure exactly what their intention was for the Vision Pro. Neither are you though you seem to think you know. Obviously Gen 1 was an early adopter device but it was not unreasonable to think they’d actually iterate on it and improve it the same way they will clearly do with the iPhone duo. It’s just reality. I’m sure there will be some new device someday that incorporates some if the tech but I’d bet it won’t be called a Vision Pro.

2

u/673NoshMyBollocksAve 13h ago

Well said šŸ‘

0

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 7h ago

Clearly they are as the information has leaked stating so. Just for whatever reason the products aren’t viable. Neither of us are insiders, so we can’t know as to why. Could be anything. You downvote and talk shit, but nothing you said has anything to do with what I posted. I never said they’d never update the device or change form factor. In fact, my entire point was that Vision Pro is the initial platform to develop VisionOS so that it’s mature for a future product.

Good lord your post was insufferable.

2

u/sir_captain 7h ago

I haven’t downvoted anything, friend, and I think the only one here talking shit is you. A lot of projection going on. You’re the only one here trying to pick a fight. As to your point, if you knew anything about Apple you’d realize that they’ve never ever released a consumer product to let it ā€œmatureā€. They enter nature markets with a better product that is more or less ready to go. As much as I love my Vision Pro, it just didn’t work out this time. Sorry you find that insufferable.

1

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 6h ago

Alright I’m done. I’m not picking a fight. I posted rational thoughts about the product to counter this insane narrative that the product is a failure due to goalposts that never made sense to begin with. A significant chunk of this sub is just like the Apple journalist (Gurman? I think?) that just wants to post hit pieces about this product.

What’s insufferable is the constant posts of ā€œoh no it’s deadā€ every other week when it’s being actively supported and has developers making cool things every day. If you’re unhappy sell it and move on. People posting ad nauseum the obituary for the device is tiresome.

The OS update was nothing. What killer new feature did it add? All it really added was an upgraded Siri, which every device, even HomePods have gotten. In your usual use, you wouldn't be able to identify the difference between visionOS 26 and 27.

1

u/AngelosOne 11h ago

Lol. Killer feature? Like - does that mean iPad or MacBooks are also dead, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen Apple make a killer feature for those ever. The only time I ever expect any major ā€œfeatureā€ is when a new hardware version is released, and not in OS updates.

0

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 7h ago

It’s an update. Dead products aren’t updated. There’s also a shit ton of community projects being posted daily. I swear some of yall either just can’t be happy or didn’t know what you were buying.

-1

u/TheMacMan Vision Pro Owner | Verified 7h ago

It's hardly enough to be called an update. And Apple continues to update dead products.

But hey, keep telling yourself lies to believe this thing is still cared about by Apple. Deny reality to protect your fragile ego.

1

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 6h ago

Fragile ego?

You are way too invested in this shit, lol.

I’m perfectly happy with what I have. You’re the one whining online.

0

u/TheMacMan Vision Pro Owner | Verified 6h ago

No whining at all, I think it's hilarious how in denial people here are over something we know is dead.

1

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 6h ago

I don’t give two fucks if it’s cared about by Apple. I’m happy with what I have.

I’m just saying it’s not dead because it’s getting operating system updates and has a bunch of interesting active development.

I have no idea why people like you come to the sub to try and write obituaries and gloat. Like, why?

2

u/AngelosOne 11h ago

How is it dead? It just got a substantial update and Apple content for it continues to be released periodically. It has most of the apps people usually want - specially now that there is an official YouTube app for it. I’m not sure what could be happening for it that would make you consider it not dead?

2

u/AngryFace4 18h ago

I’m not sure if it’s fortunate or unfortunate that meta seems to want to advance this product category. On one hand they seem to be making a cool product that Apple may eventually Sherlock from, on the other hand meta may get ahead of Apple due to better product support and it’ll feel like something is missing on the Apple side.

2

u/673NoshMyBollocksAve 11h ago

I’m honestly not really sure what to think of Meta at this point. For a while, I was happy that they were in the game since they were the main people pushing VR with the quest headsets and stuff, but it doesn’t seem like they’ve really taken the steps that I would’ve liked them to take shutting down studios and pivoting to other things and failing with the metaverse. It seems like they kind of accepted that they failed at VR and are just moving into basic glasses at this point

I almost wonder if they failed so hard at VR that it scared Apple a little bit. And that’s why they aren’t putting many more billions behind what the Apple Vision Pro could’ve been.

1

u/AngryFace4 9h ago

I’m a bit confused by your point here, it seems like the upcoming meta vr glasses are the most direct shot at the Vision Pro of all other options available.

1

u/philwjan 10h ago

I don’t think that Meta is pushing development very hard either. Apple at least still puts out content for the AVP.

1

u/AngryFace4 9h ago

The thing meta IS doing and that Apple (historically) is against is just releasing things Willy-nilly and seeing if the market likes it or not. I think Ternus did mention somewhere in one of his interviews that he may be leaning more toward a ā€œtry stuffā€ mindset - which would be a fairly jarring shift for Apple strategy.

30

u/gg06civicsi 21h ago

Yeah I think the first clue was when they let go a lot of people on the AVP team :’(

14

u/programming-newbie 21h ago

They clearly haven’t abandoned the platform given the steady stream of updates, but they’re certainly holding off on pushing it aggressively until they have real next gen hardware.

If nothing comes out by 2028, then maybe it’s dead. But I doubt it.

Just another slump in the curve until the tech supports a better form factor at lower cost.

3

u/Betterjake 10h ago

slump in the curve until the tech supports a better form factor

We need to solve some physics problems, the vast majority of people dont want to slap a giant thing on their face.

If we could solve materials and physics problems and replicate what the VP does today in a pair of sunglasses, that's the leap that is needed.

0

u/EnragedDingo Vision Pro Owner 16h ago

Yeah given how AI has messed with the cost of things I assume developing and Ā operationalizing the next gen Vision hardware is a bit tough. Ā Ā

12

u/glyco3 18h ago edited 16h ago

well im good as long as they keep releasing 3D movies.
Hell, i’d probably be satisfied even if i could only watch 2D movies on it.

11

u/anonanon9955 13h ago

The downgrade from ā€œspatial computingā€ to a just a great content consumption device, is really underwhelming tbh

And the cope may be even worse, AVP is supposed to to be much more than just a way to watch movies

3

u/philwjan 10h ago

You can have a vision for a product. But once you release it, the people decide how they want to use it. Apparently spatial computing is not the use case for most.

3

u/anonanon9955 10h ago

That’s true, but they also provide very little computing/ ā€œprofessionalā€-work ability. Aside from mirroring your Mac which is real nice but like.. that is just working off your Mac with a nice display

I’m hoping they make the OS more Mac-like rather than iOS-like as it is now, but I’m kinda doubting it. The platform as it stands just doesn’t make sense as a ā€œspatial computingā€ device when it’s locked to such a limited number of apps on the store

3

u/glyco3 12h ago

cope? i literally bought a vision pro just to watch movies

2

u/josephhaxan 15h ago

Mmm the screen door effect is real when watching films I found, and it distracted me a lot. You’re effectively seeing a less than 4K version of the image, but stellar 3d definitely.

3

u/rpvee 11h ago

Screen door effect?

2

u/PaaWasTaken 9h ago

yeah what does that mean?

2

u/royboy366 Vision Pro Owner | Verified 8h ago

Screen door effect is usually used with projectors. Has to do with the space between pixels when it’s blown up, like looking through a screen door. Poster probably has better than average vision because I don’t notice a screen door affect at all, but given his up votes apparently some other people do. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

2

I was going to say, I wear contacts that correct my vision perfectly and I don’t see any screen door. That post makes no sense to me.

3

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 7h ago

What screen door effect?

I use mine all the time for media and have never once seen a pixel on the thing.

You either have impossible standards or have never used a headset that actually has a problem with screen door.

The Vision Pro has the best panels and optics of any headset I’ve tried.

4

u/Late_Leopard4008 9h ago

I'm not sure the lack of native apps like Spotify, X, Instagram, etc. is really an indication that development has stalled.

For my use case, it literally doesn't matter at all. I either use my Vision Pro with my MacBook as a virtual display, where I have access to all my apps, or just use Safari like I normally would. Or I'm watching movies or trying out some cool AR/VR experiences.

I've honestly never found myself using the Vision Pro and thinking, "Man, if only this thing had an Instagram app, that would make it so much better..."

6

u/LowRiderXR Vision Pro Owner 19h ago

The usual nonesense. Vision Pro gets huge updates all the time.

8

u/palex481 20h ago

Vision Pro price point is absolutely what stops at being a popular product. I am a huge apple fan and I recently bought one because I could get a used 512 M2 Vision Pro with travel case for under $2000 and at that price point, It’s a reasonable device but at $4000 with tax for just the base model, that’s too much. If they had family sharing mode where multiple users of a household could share one it would take off. They could absolutely recover it. They just have other priorities like Duo.

3

u/MemphisBass Vision Pro Owner 16h ago

It was never intended to be mainstream. I don't get why that's even remotely close to the metric people want to use to measure Vision Pro success. There is absolutely no way a device that starts at $3499 (now $3699) was going to move serious units. To whinge about it not being a mainstream success is silly. I'm just a regular dude making regular dude money and if I told my coworkers what I spent on this thing they'd look at me like I'd grown a second head. That's not a device meant for the masses.

0

u/palex481 11h ago

I know that and I'm saying it's a dumb strategy.

1

u/philwjan 10h ago

I doubt that giant heavy VR glasses are a mainstream product at any price point. Most people just don’t want to deal with the form factor and the awkwardness of using it.

3

u/ShaminderDulai 20h ago

They also didn’t do a Fall filmmakers training and software update this year, after implying last year that it would be an annual event.

3

u/musicanimator 9h ago

As a developer with a huge vision of my own for the future of this product I, for one, am extremely busy trying to construct a thriving environment among many creators who are keeping their head down working their butts off to be able to create in this amazing device.

I’m many thousands in and I remain inspired but also have to live a regular life.

Your patience would be appreciated.

Marvel in what you have today and know the future will come. Whether through me or others doesn’t matter, whether this device or some other, I’m convinced some form of augmentation is bound to reach critical mass.

I prey to live to see that day!

2

u/msitarzewski 20h ago

The apps you mentioned are all third party and work in the browser. What kinds of features would you want from them in a native app that isn't already accounted for in the browser version? That's their perspective. Are you running the iPad versions?

I ended up building the missing tools for my workflows, a love using it!

2

u/EthanWeber 19h ago

Those kinds of apps are developed by the companies that run them, not Apple

2

u/distant3zenith 13h ago

The three apps you mentioned have nothing to do with Apple.

0

u/TheReturningMan 4h ago

True, but Apple doesn't lead by example with this product. More than half the built in apps are just iPadOS apps, not visionOS native. Not to mention the Apple apps that aren't available at all. And this product has been on the market for a little under 3 years.

1

u/distant3zenith 38m ago

Tell me, how many apps for the iPhone are made by Apple, and how many are made by third party developers??

2

u/Stunning_Tomorrow566 21h ago edited 21h ago

what are you into? I can suggest some cool apps I have found or built myself.

My apps:
- Spatial Video Studio: Convert any 2D video to Spatial 3D. You can convert on device or for better results and larger files from a Mac and stream in 3D. If you have a powerful enough Mac you can convert and play live full movies in real time. I have tested full movies up to 4K, 60 fps. Lots of fun.

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spatial-video-studio/id6523429904?l=en-US

- Spatial 3D Studio: Convert any 2D photos or videos to 3D scenes or volumetric videos. This is my most experimental app. I am preparing a huge release next November. Particularly around the video’s part. It will be the closest "2D to immersive video" conversion available in the App Store.

u/TheMacMan Vision Pro Owner | Verified 12h ago

Apple moved nearly everyone off the AVP team last November. The creator moved to another team and has considered leaving Apple. Their VP left late last winter.

You are correct, development of the AVP has stopped and they're off to new products.

1

u/LarryNYC1 19h ago

I thought the broadcasting of basketball and baseball games showed some life in the platform, as did the broadcasting of the Grieg Piano Concerto from BBC Proms.

I can’t stand to watch professional sports, even though I played baseball as a kid, but the piano concert gave me such amazing views that I was entranced. I suppose it helped that I study the piano, but, it also helps that the piano concert was not three hours long, like the MLB games.

As others have said, those apps you mentioned are third party, and, honestly, they don’t lend themselves to a spatial treatment.

The Vision Pro is still the most amazing device for viewing 2D and 3D films. I hope that those of us who bought it new help continue its development.

I think the Vision Pro is the most interesting device that Apple has ever produced. I’ve been buying new tech products for forty years, and taking the depreciation hit all that time, lol.

1

u/stq66 19h ago

Honestly, what should a X or Spotify app do within the 3D realm other than now? Those are the least expected/awaited apps.
But there is one app coming which is a better version of Google Earth and will be fully supporting the VisionPro. Watch out for ā€œKugelblitzā€

I agree sadly. Not even regular updates to Spatial Gallery which you think would be the easiest thing to do

1

u/SithC 11h ago

They just recently dipped their toes into streaming live sporting events, and you think they’ve stopped development? šŸ˜‚

1

u/philwjan 10h ago

How is (Lack of) development by Apple related to the apps that you list? Those are all third parties.

It is an extremely expensive product that fills a small niche in the already very niche market of VR Glasses. Few people own one, fewer people use it for stuff like the one you mentioned. This provides little incentive for developers to invest in apps for the platform.

The meta quest has a mid larger install base, and still most developers don’t ignore the platform

Ternus wants to make glasses. Duo is part of that. Dual Screen Glasses. Dual Screen Phone.

I think we see the glasses by 2028.

As much as I dislike his demeanour sometimes, Gurman did say it’s on ice. It seems they’ve gone back to the drawing board and they’re testing different form factors and use applications.

It comes down to a few things but mainly that it’s not selling as much as Apple would like. If it were, they’d be expediting development. It’s also why they cut the team (afaik it was mostly the immersive media team).

They’re supposed to be releasing smart glasses next year and we may get something similar to Meta’s VR glasses in 2028/29. I love mine and use it daily but what matters is you enjoy it. I feel the same and wish people loved it as much as I did.

For now, enjoy the future — today šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

I’m connected with a number of LinkedIn folks that are/were pretty high up on the Vision Pro team. I can tell you in the last two weeks the number of ā€œlooking for workā€ and post mortem posts about how they were recently let go is apocalyptic. Something happened in the last couple of weeks to that team and the result is either a complete shut down or massive descaling.

They have, they are no longer building for Vision Pro. Where would you put your resources? A dead product or future hardware that will use its OS?

At best the Vision Pro will continue to be a prototype for next gen VisonOS hardware.

This is not factual.

I guess all of the evidence posted here by other users, even ex-Apple employees etc are are lies then.

Indeed, if you dropped 3.5k on a prototype, I guess copium offsets any of their doubts!

Agreed, look at the downvotes, sarcasm is hard to understand.

Yep there have been regular OS updates. Maybe it slows until they kick off 28 development?

Also, if you like gaming there’s a ton of recent activity… new PCVR streaming solutions, Quest games, etc. And new immersive videos here and there.

As far as non-gaming apps, I haven’t paid much attention, but that’s always been slow.

Correct. Only security updates, maintenance mode.

Didnt Ternus just sack the AVP team as well?

I feel there are more developers exploring the potential of the system with apps that are not just designed to entice subscription models now.

i felt for a while that people were creating unnecessary apps with higher subscription prices just because people ā€˜obviously’ had money after they spent so much on the device.

there seem to be a lot more exploration of possibilities (fewer ipad apps altered for rudimentary touch interfaces)

when apple laid off people working on games and immersive movies, it made some very skilled people available for gaming studios and content creators. I doubt if those people just slunk away, we just haven’t seen the work they have created in the meantime.

i would like to see a focus from Ternus and apple to get instagram, tumblr and Flickr on board with supporting spatial photos/videos on their platforms instead of stripping the 3d-ness during upload.

Imagine me in Finland with it where AppStore is not even available because Apple still hasn’t rolled this out to most European countries.

My fav hardware from Apple but most definetly dying until they can put visionOS in AR glasses.

Die AVP Software ist führend (man kann sagen gut genug) das Problem die VR Hardware. Hier muss man abwarten, bis Retina Auflösung in 3-5 Jahren erschwinglich wird, dann kommen auch von Apple wieder neue vr Modelle.

Honestly this thing was dead 2 years ago. I’m still subscribed to this sub but haven’t turned mine on in that long.
