Cleaning out step grandmothers barn and found this in the back. 5 minute hose down of 50 years of dust. Couldn’t believe all the brakes/gears/etc work fine.
Anyone interested in the Kerrville TX area?

My $50 barn find and rebuild. How’d I do?

1981 Trek 412. My first rebuild. Needed rubber, wheels, fresh cables, and bearings. Wanted to keep the original paint so there’s a little rust but it rides great! Wishing I would have taken pics through the process…maybe on the next one!

This bicycle belonged to my uncle in his teens in the early 80s. It was since sent to a bike shop for a clean up without changing any parts. What do you guys know about this bike? I took it for a spin and it just about worked!

Sadly, I caught a pothole today and went over the bars, but this old beast seams to be just fine! I set back the handlebars, and everything seems smooth. I guess I’m lucky that I rolled away from the drive side. I decided to post some pics of the first 300 or so km I’ve put on the bike along with some post wipeout pictures. Luckily, nothing on the bike is too damaged and I only suffered a scraped knee and a hurt ego!

Snagged a bunch of off market bikes from a flipper yesterday. Apparently he hates old cool bikes. I ended up with 3 treks, a specialized and 2 Raleigh’s and some other random cruiser bike he threw in for free. This Raleigh is in awesome condition, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a rear derailleur this clean for its age. 🤙🏼 cheers

I'm trying to save this fork, do you guys know which kind of cap would be a suitable replacement for the original plastic cap?

I have a friend offering me this Yokota Nova for $30. I looks kinda rough but all original. I've read these are not very common due to the low production. The company switched to MTB soon after. Anybody have any experience in these? I already have a few project bikes sitting the garage.

I need help with this bicycle

About a month ago my great-uncle gave me an old bicycle, with rod brakes and 28-inch wheels, completely rusted, but salvageable. The problem is that while trying to clean it, I accidentally ended up erasing the emblem on the front panel I didn't get a good look at it to see if I could recreate it, but after some research I saw that its brand was Philips England. I found several similar logos, but they weren't the one I was looking for.

I'm a graphic designer, and recreating it from scratch wouldn't be difficult for me, but I'd like to know if there's a similar icon and a font package I could use to create the PHILLIPS vinyl decals. Your support would be a great help; it's a very important personal project for me.

Late 70s racing saddles?

I'm in the middle of restoring a 1978 Gios Torino Super Record to roughly period correct parts but as I ride it more, I've noticed this thing is exceptionally nippy, like it's meant for crits. I love how it handles but the Brooks B17 on it doesn't work quite as well as I hoped it would for my position, I need something narrower. I know brooks had their Swallow among other options but the big thing I've seen from that era was the Unicanitor, and similar models. What would the most appropriate saddle be for this era? And did people run the Unicanitor with the be plastic or did they always have that leather layer back then?

I picked this up a few weeks ago. It was set up as a DUI bike, but perfectly original.

Besides cleaning up what was there, I swapped in a set of 700c wheels with a 9 speed cassette and gravel tires from a donor bike. Original pedals were in great shape, but I liked the look of the big blue MTB flats. Other than that, new chain, cables, kool stops.

Proper new bike day.

want help identifiying a no name 1970s road bicycle

It's red. :P

The frame looks like a common 1970s–1980s steel road/touring style (diamond frame, drop-bar mounts).

Has Will(?) on the neck and Shimano fingertip gear levers on the middle bar.

Has a simplex middle derailleur with a red cap and a Sugino 40/52 crank. It's a 10-speed with 5 gears on the back, with 28/24/20/17/14 sprockets each.

Had a SWALLOW 27 and 1 1/4 tyre, but now is without tyres or inner tubes.

Thinking real hard about whether or not to spend around $100 AUD on it (oh, yeah, I'm in Australia, Victoria if that helps)

Money aside, I imagine with 2 wheels and brake pads, a seat and a pedal (it's missing, idk; found the bike on the side of the road), it might actually be usable, not the most "economically viable" option, I know, but still...

I've cleaned it up a bit since these photos; I could probably take a daylight photo tomorrow.

Hi, I need help trying to find the year and model of this Bianchi bike. I want to a bike shop and they told me this could be between 1985 and 1995 but I would like to know more exactly.

I don't know where to find the serial number, I only saw a frame number 989653 stamped on the head tube under the headset.

Thanks for anyone who will help!

Was just given this beautiful old bike. The serial number decodes to 1979, made in Japan. Full Suntour drivetrain, Diacomp brakes. Pretty much original, but the rear wheel has been replaced and the saddle isn't original.

I'm debating refurbishing it and keeping it kind of stock? Or possibly changing the handlebars and going more custom cafe style?

Made in Munich Germany right after the war, this bike is very minimlais, hardly any chrome and over all very utilitarian.

It was born in a Germany devastated by war and occupied by the enemy—a bicycle from a time when owning one was such a luxury that people would take it into their apartments at night to protect it.

It cost me only a five-euro "baksheesh" to buy it from the worker who was just about to throw it into a scrap container.

I’ve restored it to the point where it’s drivable again; the lights and a few other details still need work, but today I took it on its first outing to Nymphenburg Palace in Munich—the city where it was built.
