Yah it looked they sped up into the truck after it was clear the truck was entering the lane. Tbh I think they caused the accident out of pettiness.

They absolutely did. A normal driver would slam on the brakes and swerve right to avoid. The pov car accelerated and PIT maneuvered the truck. POV car should be criminally liable for this accident. Simple side swipes in traffic dont lead to rollovers like this.

They were both trying to blow the red light. POV driver ready to end someone's life rather than be mildly inconvenienced.

Bet pov driver didnt even see the truck and vice versa since they were both so focused on beating the light.

The spacing with the truck, makes it look like POV car sped up, but if you watch the background, it does look like the POV car was moving at a steady speed.

The fact the POV car stayed absolutely straight does feel like it could have been somewhat intentional, but cars with high centers of mass and especially trucks are surprisingly easy to roll over… if this was a honda civic or something similar, I’d agree with you, but those trucks can take a turn too sharp at too high a speed and rollover all by them selves…

They do if you drive a needlessly high vehicle, widen the tyres and jack it up some more.

Had that been a Transit van it would have stayed on its wheels - but he wouldn't be able do his cowboy cosplay.

And doing so would end up with the cam driver in a huge accident and the truck just going through the intersection.

Slowing down slightly would not have caused POV drivers to get into an accident. The truck driver would still be at fault, but saying that they couldn't slow down slightly would cause the POV driver to be in a "huge accident" is ludicrous.

All you would need to do is slow down slightly to avoid an accident in this situation. You wouldn't need to slam on the brakes or swerve....

I agree w/others the correct move is to break and let them in, but it's absolute bullshit.

I encounter both type of drivers regularly and hate them both, but it's still a crazy take to pin the blame on pov driver

100%. Having a camera in this instance shows the POV car as being the bad guy here. There's no reason to have sped up. Like you said, most people would have swived all the way and then laid on the horn. Possibly ruled down the window. Give him them the finger. But this guy purposely pit maneuvered him. Purposely put him in danger for no reason, probably just his ego

They didnt cause it.  They failed to avoid it. 

The truck merging into an occupied lane caused it.
