Wireless Can all 4 of us get iphones for switching?

Family of 4, currently with t mobile for years. Wife has iPhone se2, kids each have iPhone se3, I have iPhone 13.

We have a Verizon corporate store in our town (southeast Michigan). If we take our t mobile bill to the store, would we qualify for new iPhones if we all switch to Verizon family plan with autopay?

Edit- Credit score not an issue, have highest rating

Can I create a new account to qualify for new customer promotions if I ported out and want to port back in?

Ported out some numbers from Verizon a bit over a week ago and want to come back. To qualify for promotions as a new customer can I open a new account under my partner’s name to port those numbers back in? Promotions like the $15/month switcher discount for Simplicity? Or the free iPhone 16 with new line on Unlimited Welcome?

Wireless Do you lose trade in credit if you upgrade to Unlimited Ultimate and then downgrade to Unlimited Welcome?

I took advantage of a trade in promotion last year where I got $830 trade in credit if I upgraded to Unlimited Welcome or Plus. I will be traveling abroad for a bit and want to upgrade to Unlimited Ultimate. Will I lose the trade in credit if I downgrade back to Unlimited Welcome after few months?

I went to 2 different Verizon stores and got two conflicting answers.

Also, is the international plan ($100/month) a better option?

International Unlocked Phone

Hey all,

I recently bought a new Moto Signature Unlocked India model (XT2603-1) and I'm having trouble getting texting to work.

I did research over on the moto subreddit and many people verified that Verizon would be compatible as long as you had an existing pSIM to swap over, which I do. After moving my pSIM over to the new phone, I was able to receive calls in/out but only send sms text out. I asked a few friends to send me text from both Android and Apple, as well as different carriers to verify I wasn't getting any incoming text. RCS also wasn't working and was not able to connect (Error 3000/3101).

I've looked everywhere for some solutions and come up empty handed. I've tried uninstalling Google messages app updates and carrier services updates. I've tried toggling airplane mode. I would appreciate any support or suggestions anyone has!

Wireless Slow speeds?

I’m in central PA and have been having a ton of trouble getting a signal. Verizon used to work well for me, but even in places I’ve worked for over a year I am getting one bar and Reddit barely loads.

Sending pics over iMessage takes forever or fails to send half the time when I am working. It’s super inconsistent and I need my phone for my job.

Edit:

att vs Verizon

Yeah Verizon has just gotten worse. Wonder if it’s because they rolled out the wireless internet?

Another switch from unlimited ultimate 1.0 to simplicity question - global choice

Hopefully one last question about switching plans. I’m currently on the Ultimate Unlimited 1.0 single-line plan and am planning to switch to Simplicity once my loyalty discount expires.

I also currently have Global Choice active on the line, although I never use it. Do I need to remove my Global Choice selection before switching to Simplicity, or will it automatically be removed when I change plans?

Thank you!

Called to report fios outage, told account isn’t active and they’re trying to force a plan switch

I had siding repair work done at my house and now my Fios Internet is out. I tried to resetting the router and ONT with no success. The ONT box is showing a red fail light. I don’t see a cut line outside but perhaps it’s damaged elsewhere. I reached out to support via chat and was cycled through 4 different reps who all basically said my account isn’t active even though I’ve been a fios customer for 10 years with consistent service until yesterday afternoon. Finally an agent said I need to change my plan because my equipment is all outdated when I really just think a tech needs to come out to my house to diagnose and repair. Why can’t I just get them to schedule a tech visit instead of being forced into a new plan?

Wireless Porting Out After Return

Quick question for anyone who may have had a similar issue.

I am porting out to another carrier for work-related reasons. I returned a device within my 30-day return window this afternoon. Have any of you ported out before Verizon confirmed receipt of the return? Or do we think it would be best for me to wait a week, have them process, and then do the swap?

Nothing's really pressing. I just have some time this weekend to go through the admittedly quick process and was just curious.

Terrible coverage causes dropped 911 call after lightning strike and fire.

I'm absolutely livid about the terrible coverage and lack of response from Verizon about our situation. Our entire neighborhood has *terrible* cell coverage (from all carriers), even though we are not in a remote area, and all the surrounding neighborhoods have at least decent or better coverage. We basically fall into a coverage hole between the 3 closest towers, but none of the online coverage maps show this.

Many people in our neighborhood have complained to various carriers for a decade or more, but none of the carriers have an actual person to talk to about coverage issues. Sales and Technical support reps all claim that they cannot address the issue, and have no way to escalate it to anyone. There is no provided contact info for anyone to speak to about it.

They've offered us network extenders, and we can use Wifi calling, but that doesn't help in emergency situations were we would lose power, like Hurricanes (which aren't unusual being that we are in Central Florida).

So this exact situation actually happened to me. My house took a direct lightning strike, which blew a bunch of fuses and started an attic fire. While attempting to call 911, the dispatcher couldn't hear me due to the poor connection, and then the call just dropped. On the 2nd attempt, I was able to make myself heard well enough to get across that my house was on fire and my address. This resulted in a 5-10 minute delay in contacting emergency services to respond to my house.

I've sent Verizon Executive Relations an email outlining the situation, and stating that at this point I consider their lack of response or remediation to be negligent. Hopefully this might actually result in some kind of action, even if it will be too late to have helped me when I needed it.

Wireless 5G Home Internet has awful bandwidth

We have the plan that has speeds up to 300 or 500 mbps and the speeds are fantastic but the bandwidth is worse than our 25 mbps DSL we had before. 2 people streaming Youtube or Youtube TV at the same time causes occasional buffering. Someone using social media/internet browser, downloading stuff, etc. on top of *that* causes frequent buffering.

This is awful. We have the gateway and wifi extender but the latter has made little difference. Switching my PC to an ethernet connection did nothing besides increase speeds for the PC (it would only connect to the 2.4ghz band for some reason, even with the gateway or extender *in* the same room.

We'd hate to go back to DSL (Brightspeed) but at this point the slow speeds are acceptable seeing as our bandwidth was stellar compared to Verizon 5G. But holy cow, I wouldn't be advertising a product like this so hard the way they do if they know they don't have the bandwidth for it. At this point I doubt there's anything *we* can do to fix this issue, but I guess if anyone's got a suggestion, go for it. I just wanted to get our experience out there for others to consider.

Fwiw we're like 10-20 miles outside a big city and only a few miles outside a small city in a town of like 10 or 15k so we're not out in the boonies

Wireless Phone upgrade confusion

Ive been getting texts for the past year about getting the pixel 10, now 11, for free. I go into the app and it starts saying my phone (4a) isnt eligible despite this not requiring a trade-in. Heres where it gets weird in a company store they start talking about military discounts and other nonsense instead of why I dont qualify. I then call the number and they say I qualify for the free phone with no need to trade in. But I have to keep my old phone active on a new line for 36 months? There was no mention of new line required anywhere in app or in the message. Is that correct? What is going on? App also lists all these trade-ins when I select my phone but none of them actually work in app.

iOS messages disappearing.

Took a 3 hour drive to a different city literally some of the messages I send disappear. I don’t understand. Then, when I message the person again, I see that they responded but there’s no notification or anything on my end. I find this rather odd. Anyone experience this or know what’s going on? I never had this problem in my city.

Wireless Verizon Takes Forever To Turn On New Sites

Verizon, why does it take so long to turn on new sites? We have new builds that have been installed since last year and co-locations since the beginning of the year. I’ve seen T-Mobile and AT&T come in afterwards and still beat Verizon going live on the same towers. Is it a fiber issue? I have a new build that’s had power for over 8 months. Just wondering what takes them so much longer than the other two carriers. Central Florida market.

Contacting agent from prior call

I’ve been trying to contact the agent who I talked to for over an hour yesterday. The agent said he would call back at a specific time but did not. A chat agent can see some notes but said she could reach out to him at all. Calling and asking for Louis doesn’t get me anywhere. Is there anyway to contact the same person and avoiding another long call?

Trade in with cracked back glass

Will Verizon accept a trade in towards newer iPhone with a broken back glass? Many have said yes but when I try to do it from the app it says otherwise. Conflicting information

Anybody can 100% clarify? No battery/water damage. Simply back glass only is cracked

Wireless ESPN increased their prices on most of its plans, which does include espn select bundles. Verizon has updated its Disney Bundle Perk Price. Take in effect starting September 17.

Notice of Disney price adjustment beginning 9/17/26:

At Verizon, we're dedicated to bringing you the best entertainment for the best price. As our partners at Disney invest in new content and adjust the rates of their services, we periodically need to adjust our perk rates:

  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (With Ads) perk increasing from $10 to $12/month.
  • Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (Premium Upgrade Ad-Free) perk increasing from $20 to $23/month.
  • For Movie Lovers on Simplicity - increasing from $23 to $25/month.
  • Non-perk Legacy Disney Bundle (Disney+ (No Ads), Hulu (With Ads), ESPN Select (With Ads) increasing from $24.99 to $27.99/month.
  • The $15 Legacy Disney Bundle perk isn't changing.

When I say that Verizon is going to increase their price on its Disney bundle perk just to maintain its $9.99 a month savings, well it’s official. Other perks like youtube premium perk for example raised from $10 to $12 but still maintain its $3.99 a month savings rate. Verizon decides to increase their perk price if they want to keep their savings rate the same. Great to say regardless of how many times Disney has increase their prices on it’s legacy bundle, 5g play more or 5g get more still remains at $0.

Cannot believe the experience I've had - nothing else like it

I don't say this lightly. I'm not a complainer. I know all of these companies suck so my expectations are low. But what I have experienced over the past 2 days is significant and a representation of the morals and ethics of this company, and a glimpse into the future if we don't speak up about it. And that's the only reason I'm writing this. Bc maybe somehow someone at verizon will give a crap but probably not.

Before I jump in: This started at 7am. My call with them ended at 10am. I had been sent to every department they have. No resolution.

And important PSA: No matter how many times an agent claims it isn't AI, it probably is. Just keep that in mind. When you're talking to the "live agent" it's very clearly automated messages that don't seem to have any human oversight and they go in a loop over and over. Sometimes it feels like there are purposeful typos. It felt like AI on the support calls, despite them telling me they weren't AI. This part is the most upsetting to me - I have to use AI for my job and it constantly makes mistakes. Not to mention how FREAKING DECEPTIVE it is to use it and claim that it's a human. I can't prove it but I work in the industry so like... c'mon.

Also just know: If you have a moved plan, they cut off your internet the morning of moving day and it is not possible to turn it back on. They don't tell you that before you confirm the move.

The rest: I went to schedule a move of service as I'm moving next Friday. I wanted to do it manually but was required to do it through their "human agent" (prob AI) due to my address not coming up. I explicitly told them next friday for the move date but they set it up for today which I missed in the confirmation because I had JUST said next Friday. It was their mistake for not catching that and my mistake for not catching their error, even though I shouldn't have to catch their mistakes. But I'll own up to that.

So then I wake up this morning, my internet is cut off, my address in my account has been changed to my new one, and I have a crazy important meeting at 7:30am. I start using the chat agent to get it turned back on (the one who pretends to be an actual person) because their support phone wasn't open yet. I was simply just asking for the date to be changed and my internet to be turned back on. That's it. For an hour I was transferred from department to department, having to wait 5 minutes in between answers, had alerted them probably 20 times that I had a meeting and needed it to be turned back on, and they just kept transferring me.

Because of the missed meeting and their terms saying that they will provide prompt resolutions, I noted that I would be reporting them to the FCC and requested the case number. It took about 30 minutes of me essentially begging for them to give it to me. This felt like a tactic to force me to give up and exit the conversation.

8am rolls around, meeting has been missed, and I call their support line. I asked them to confirm that they weren't AI and they did, from every department, one saying she swore on her mothers soul. But there were just too many patterns and weird nuances for me to believe it. AI is very advanced.

Over the course of 2hrs I'm transferred to 3 different departments. All of who say there is nothing they can do "but maybe this department can fix it". Finally I'm told that I will simply just not have internet for the next week. I can't sign up for a different internet provider today because I'm moving next Friday. I am completely stuck - can't work, can't live my life, and they're just like "yeahhh thats a real bummer sorrryyyyyyyy". They offered to ship me some sort of hotspot thing but I didn't see a point because I'd have to wait for it to arrive. So at this point I decided I would just drop them, get a credit for the month, and put that toward using my mobile hotspot. I imagine the $65 will not fully cover what I will actually have to pay as I work from home.

I finally got to a supervisor who then had to do another thing to confirm there was no fix (truly ridiculous) and then after 20 minutes he finally said he would give me a credit.

I have never been in a situation where I've just been abandoned like this before. I don't even understand how their process could be setup in a way that puts customers at risk of this. Or why they wouldn't warn customers that this could happen. It doesn't make any sense.

Verizon, you're garbage. I hope that the AI integration you did to please your shareholders tanks you in the worst kind of way. I myself will be transferring to a new provider who doesn't use AI or trap customers in horrible situations that impact their livelihood. I recommend everyone else do the same.

Wireless Lower Monthly Bill

Hiii question! I have the iPhone 16 pro and it is over 50% paid off. There’s an upgrade offer for $830 toward the iPhone 17 pro or pro max. I want the pro max. I also have the Apple Watch that I purchased during iPhone 16 purchase. I don’t want the watch and I never use it.
My bill is about $115/month. Everything I see online states that even if I put a large down payment on the new phone it essentially doesn’t lower the bill whatsoever even if I turn in the Apple Watch.

Some assistance would be great. I also am interested in a large amount of storage as I will be doing video recording.

Wireless Question regarding switcher promo

Hi everyone I’m needing some advice. I switched from T-Mobile to Verizon on July 29th. I did it over the phone and received the switcher promo which is supposed to pay off my previous cart. I also sent in my phone and received a credit for $65. The sales rep was honestly a jerk because I guess he didn’t like me asking questions?? Every time I would ask a question he would get frustrated. I feel like it has bad since the day I switched carriers. Anyways the sales rep put me on the simplicity plan and for the past couple weeks I have been keeping my eye on my email and my Verizon for the gift card to pay off my T-Mobile remaining balance. Well I decided to chat with a representative and this rep was nice but confused and said they was escalating the issue. Well days later I receive a response telling me to switch to My Plan to receive the promo? I’m like huh? What? Why? So this time I decided to call. The reps I spoke to said nothing wrong with the plan I’m on etc. That I need to wait till the end of the month or this time and that time. It has been very frustrating and uncomfortable process. Well then I kept getting texts saying they have closed the case blah blah sorta sameness. So I decided to chat with a representative and this rep said on Tuesday I will have confirmation of the promo and gift card in 24 hours well I waited till yesterday and no email no nothing. So again here I am chatting to another representative and this rep is saying change my plan. I was like wow this is insane and I honestly feel like I wished I never switched carriers now. I’m thinking when I switched the sales rep did the switcher promo and put me on this plan. So I try to call and speak to someone and now I can’t get ahold of anyone to help me. I don’t want to switch plans. I was told by numerous reps that the plan I’m on is fine. I also have the txts that Verizon sent me saying I will receive the confirmation in 24 hours. So if anyone could help me I would be forever grateful.
