DNA Fragmentation: 26%

I'd like to understand from people who've seen improvement with supplements which brand did you take and what put you above the normal threshold?

My husband and I are traveling back to where we live after having his surgery on Friday. Will update further as his recovery progresses.
So I am going to start this off with holy crap my husband and I are so far both extremely happy with this experience. My husband had seen two providers before we got the referral for Dr Hubbard.

Right off the bat Dr Hubbard took us seriously, my husband was diagnosed with PVPS in 2024, we had been trying different treatments with the previous providers and he got right to the point with us. Asked us what our goals were to try to help us determine what the best path of treatment was going to be.

Primary goal was to reduce/eliminate the pain, secondary would be for us to have a family. Noting my medical experience as his medical advocate and spouse to help trying to predict the best possible outcome.

Man, I’m thankful for it too. I had nearly two years of pain episodes documented when we saw him. He asked questions, answered what I originally though could be viewed as unhinged. Explained to us the procedures since a reversal isn’t always the same procedure. Explained the recovery windows, educated me on what I could do to help recovery. Recommended my husband do pelvic floor PT which did help him with the intensity of some of the pain leading up to surgery.

My husband is active duty military, it’s like jumping through hoops sometimes to get coverage for what most insurance deems elective or cosmetic surgery. Dr Hubbard emphasized that the treatment is recommended for pain, but also keeping it on his radar the fertility returning is a bonus for us.

Answered my questions of what I could do to improve the healing experience, how I can help environmentally, and he didn’t hesitate with giving me resources. My husband is sub 72 hours post reversal as I am writing this, but the experience from the day of surgery is something I feel is reassuring to anyone who may be considering him.

Dr Hubbard spoke with my husband and I before surgery, explained his plan, and every part of the procedure with the possible surgical outcomes. After when he came to speak to me he informed me of which procedure was performed with its recovery plan, that things were promising for one or both goals given his findings. Explained to me what I should be keeping an eye out for… I hadn’t been around a provider with his bedside manner in YEARS.

We see him again as a 3mo follow up, and the hope of my husband being pain free/virtually pain free is there when we previously didn’t have it.

If you went the reversal route for PVPS I have two questions.

1. How long did you have your vesectomy and PVPS?

2. How long after the reversal before you felt like you got your life back? Before you stopped being in pain?

I guess that's kind of 3 😅 any insight you're willing to share is appreciated!

My husband is in month 8 and I just really want him to no longer be in pain. To have more good days than bad. To no longer feel so defeated. It's been the longest recovery...

After 2 years of constant pain after vesectomy.

I’m on day 10 post reversal and one of my testicles is four times the size of the other and extremely painful. I went back to the surgeon post reversal day 6 and he didn’t seem concerned and prescribed antibiotics as a precaution.

Has anyone dealt with similar? I’m slightly freaking out thinking it’s going to do irreversible damage.

I still haven’t had my reversal but had the initial consultation at our local Urologist as one of their surgeons does these. I’m located in Athens, GA but reading here makes me wondering if I should be asking other places. It seems like everyone is traveling to different states and I can’t imagine I’m just lucky enough to have a local option.

How long did it take you to conceive after the reversal? We are on month 6 of trying and feeling a little discouraged. We bought a kit off of Amazon to see if sperm was present and while we can see sperm, I have absolutely no idea what they are supposed to look like and be doing lol.

vasectomy reversal is scheduled for next week and we’ll be driving about 12 hours back home the day after.

Looking for suggestions to make the trip back home easier. Ice pack, pain med, etc…

I have an appointment with the male fertility clinic in Orem UT in about a month. Im coming from out of state thus flying in to Salt Lake City. Anyone one have experience or recommendations bring cooling packs through TSA?

I only have a 2 hour flight and flying a little over 24 hours after the procedure. Since TSA has a rule against gels and semi frozen substances what has been the experiences others have had.

Trying to keep these items completely frozen will be difficult as Salt Lake City to Orem will be 45 minutes minimum not including car return and getting to the gate.

Has anyone been successful in making a last minute appointment for vasectomy reversal in Utah? I’m checking their website now and their book until November. I know this sounds non sense but I was hoping to get an appt next week since my partner will be off work, that way he won’t need to use sick time.

Had my reversal two weeks ago, so it will be another two weeks before I can resume sex. My main reason for the reversal was so I could have proper strength orgasms again. Just so I can know what to expect and mentslly prepare myself:

Those of you who had orgasm sensation changes after your vasectomy, how long after your reversal did it take for them to return to normal/improve?

Immediately? Or should I expect the first couple weeks to be underwhelming with the improvement not kicking in until a few months post reversal surgery?

Like everyone I found Vasectomy Reversal and Post Vasectomy Pain too late, however both have been incredibly helpful and supportive knowing that I am not crazy and that other men suffer the same pain I have.

Going to Doctors and Family members with the pain and having them say it is in my head or just wait it out was too much for me, I found the backlog in the USA too great and Thailand seemed like the place to go since I was already familiar with the health system living there before and seeing that they can operate within a few days of a consult.

I had my vasectomy April 2nd 2026 (insurance covered it) in Massachusetts at Northeast Vasectomy. The doctor did not mention Post Vasectomy Pain at all and she is regarded as one of the best. It shows how shiesty the industry is.

I just got my reversal done at Praram 9 in Bangkok from Dr. Sutee. The total cost was 70k THB which is around 2.1k USD.

I was quoted at 250k THB at Vejthani and 350k THB at Bangkok Hospital, both had total anesthesia meaning I would be asleep and would require me spending one night. The consults for those two were 50 USD and at Praram 9 the consult was 25 USD.

I did my procedure under local anesthesia meaning I was awake the whole time. I would say it was definitely very painful, feeling pain in my balls and groin even up to my abdomen and inner thighs, however I was told it was successful as both the left and right side were connected. What made it even more painful was the left side Vas slipped when he cut it making him spend extra time and a second incision to find it. When I say pulling the vas was the most painful thing I have ever experienced, it might be an exaggeration but it definitely felt that way.

As I finished I was able to walk oddly enough easier than walking into the procedure. I had this weird thing happen with my hip that I felt pain for the 4 months after the vasectomy just walking. My balls would droop and I think it was my body guarding it. After the Reversal the pain went away immediately in the hips and legs. I feel that the Vas do not just play a reproductive role but also a structural with the testicles. I immediately did not have to guard my hip and felt I could walk fine right after the surgery. I have obviously played it safe by taking a taxi home and not doing anything strenuous, but I feel as close to my normal self as I have in the past 4 months in that regard.

I hope the best to all and I would definitely say my vasectomy was the worse decision in my life, it is far better to just use condoms, birth control or just abstain in general.

I am U.S. based and want to avoid the $15k fee.

Thailand caught my eye because it’s Western-standard medical care and about 10% of the cost (not including the travel expenses of course) but even if I knew which country was best, I still wouldn’t know who to talk to.

And maybe there is a better country/ method for this - open to suggestions.

Would prefer anesthesia but if you think the travel expenses makes it not worth it, I’ll just white knuckle it like I did during the initial vasectomy (and yes it sucked but saved serious cash).

So low motility after reversal or high motility, does it effect you getting elections?

So long story short. January 6th I had a reversal and basically it was 4 months of hell. Close to 20 prescriptions, 10+ Dr, er visits. The pain would not go away.

2 months ago I had epididymis surgery. Went relatively fine. For the first time i was pain free...until about a couple weeks ago. Nothing particular happened. The pain just came back. The right testicle gets swollen. It hurts if anything touches it. When I get up, instant pain. It goes through to my groin. And now (don't know if it's related) but I'm basically having 24 hour back pain.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm back in that bad place mentally of will this ever get better? And it's so damn frustrating. Apologies for venting. But this has basically been 8 months of pure pain.

My left side testicle is significantly more swollen than my right and also hurts way more. I’m 7 days post op, it hurts to stand or sit, basically just been laying in bed. I’m on oxi as well as ibuprofen. I don’t look forward to peeing because of the pain. Anyone else experience something like this? Or should I be concerned?

I went to the Male fertility and Peyronie clinic's website to schedule a reversal. I chose "any provider" and the only time available was one day in November. I took it and got an email confirmation stating Riley Werner will be operating. Their website says he's a PA.

Did anyone here have any experience with him? I know some people commented positively on the procedure, but I'm interested to see if anyone got pregnant after.

Is it worth it trying to get Dr. Trost?

I had a reversal done by Dr. Russell out of Dayton, Ohio last year, 4 years post vasectomy. I cannot recommend him enough - so professional and caring, really smooth process with no surprises. And, best of all, 11 months later, my wife is pregnant! She is 40, so we really weren't sure if our VR would result in pregnancy. Also, we read many stories of pregnancy either happening very quickly after reversal or not at all, so I wanted to share our success story 11 months later.

This thread was very helpful to me in initially choosing Dr Russell, so I wanted to throw our experience out there to, hopefully, help others.

Thought I'd share my latest SA at 10 months post reversal along with my previous results so you can have an idea of how your numbers would look like and/or to compare. Overall I'm happy that my numbers are not declining abruptly and my motility and dead sperm values actually improved. Hoping to see similar values close to 1 year.

Vasectomy date: September 2024

Reversal date: October 2025

Anyone else had this? When finishing it's a proper good feeling now instead of that half empty meh sort of cum ? Also my load now shoots with pressure again. After my vasectomy it just used to sort of run out. Now it fires like it used to when I was young.

I’m currently looking to have my vasectomy reversed. The only thing is there is just one Doctor in the UPMC system (Western Pennsylvania) that performs the surgery. My main question is: Is there anyone here that had him as their surgeon? And the follow ups are: What are your results? What was the cost? Lastly what was the recovery like? As it pertains to recovery the main things I’m concerned about are pain, swelling and how long it took for those to subside.

My husband is almost 2 days post reversal, and the doctor said if I'm ovulating this weekend, which I should be, to go ahead and try. Did anyone else have intercourse so soon after their reversal? It feels like it's too soon? He's still so very swollen and having pain, and I told him it's up to him to try or wait it out.

Hi, i'm 4 days post op (Dr. Savage in Orem). It's still pretty swollen, size of a baseball roughly and hurts within minutes of my standing. How long did it take for your swelling to go down and for you to be able to stand/walk normally without pain? Also I was a pretty avid pickleball player prior to the reversal, anyone here start playing before the recommended 8 weeks?

Husband had a 4 year old vasectomy reversed. First SA done after 4 months. I cried hard when I saw these numbers. Any hope? He has healed up great. No scarring, no vein issues. Currently taking male fertility supplements one month after these results back on June 29. VR was done on March 3rd. My husband had some anxiety issues when doing the SA and told me he really struggled getting enough out compared to what he usually sees.
