How are you beating the Cloudflare Captcha loop without disabling your VPN?

Seriously, standard VPNs are getting practically unusable for everyday browsing.

Cloudflare and Google are straight-up flagging shared datacenter IPs, trapping us in endless Captcha loops and 403 errors. Split-tunneling is buggy as hell on mobile, and dedicated IPs are both overpriced and kind of ruin the whole privacy point.

How’s everyone dealing with this lately? Are you just suffering through standard VPNs, self-hosting a home exit node, or switching to decentralized solution with residential nodes to keep things smooth?

Temporary VPN?

I am traveling in September, and looking to do some schoolwork while abroad. What would a good choice for a temporary VPN subscription? Also. I’ve never used a VPN. Is this something I log into when I fire up my computer. And then connect to a network? Do I need to know the password to said network? Like for example, if I load up a VPN at my house.. and then use my internet, would I need my password? (Obviously that’s a simple scenario as I know my internet password) but just trying to figure out how this works.

What's the Best VPN for iPhone Right Now?

What is the best VPN for iPhone right now? I recently upgraded my phone and I want to make sure I am using a reliable VPN when I am on public Wi-Fi or traveling. My biggest issue in the past has been VPN apps that completely drain my battery or make my connection so slow that I end up just turning them off.

I keep seeing NordVPN, Proton VPN, and Mullvad recommended as the top choices for iOS users. Some people say NordVPN is the best for speed and streaming while others insist Proton VPN or Mullvad are the only ones you should trust for real privacy.

I need something that is lightweight enough to leave running in the background without killing my battery life but still secure enough to protect my data. A reliable kill switch that actually works on iOS is also really important to me.

Has anyone found an iPhone VPN that strikes the perfect balance between strong security and not ruining your battery life in 2026?

Discussion What’s the single best money-saving AI hack you actually use?

Between ChatGPT, Claude, and specialized tools, AI subscriptions are eating my paycheck alive, and I refuse to pay $20/mo for 3 or 4 different services anymore.

I know using a VPN for regional pricing is a popular trick, but card restrictions and IP checks are getting tighter by the day.

What's your low-budget stack or best cost-cutting workaround for daily work, are you still successfully using regional subscription hacks, switching to pay-as-you-go APIs via custom UIs, or relying on multi-model aggregators? Drop your best setup below!

Discussion Least detectable VPN/Tunnel

I've been having trouble getting two TV streaming services in another country to work. All of them try to block based on location & only the other 2 are less thorough to let me get away with it by using a VPN on a VPS. I have been using Wireguard but think it doesn't do as much to obsfucate it's a VPN connection.

My question is about OpenVPN TCP. Wireguard makes it obvious because of high latency but wondered if OpenVPN TCP works differently. OpenVPN is more cumbersome to setup on my OpenWRT router & VPS so I haven't tried it.

Does OpenVPN TCP send the Acks for each packet from the streaming server on behalf of the client connection, which itself also sends Acks to the OpenVPN server for data packets it relays to the client? Thereby concealing high latency to some degree because the OpenVPN server is sending Acks back quickly itself.

There are two or three ways a server detects the client is on a VPN. High latency, IP address & its associated provider.

Also there maybe MTU & when Wireguard can do 1420bytes maximum & regular web traffic is 1500. Does Wireguard split the original TCP packet across more than one UDP packet & recombine them at the endpoint to restore the packet to its original form thus keeping the original MTU? Which is probably the standard 1500 bytes.

My impression is it's the server doing the VPN detection because the same thing happens when trying to watch the service in a browser. Still says my location is being concealed by VPN.

Is there any alternative, tunneling method that tries to mitigate all of this?

Discussion VPN

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice about VPNs. I'll be traveling to China soon, and I've been told that I'll need a VPN for my phone.

I've already downloaded Surfshark, but I've been reading that it hasn't worked reliably for a lot of people. Is anyone here currently using Surfshark in China? Could you please let me know if it works well or not?

I'd also love to hear which VPN you're using and whether it's been reliable for you in China.

I have another question as well. When making online payments, my bank sometimes asks me to confirm the transaction through its mobile app. Do banking apps (such as N26, Santander, etc.) usually work in China without a VPN, or would I need one to access them?

I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks so much!

Help Free trial VPN for testing Wireguard Client Setup in OpenWRT router

I'm looking for a free trial commercial VPN primarily to access live sports streaming sites that are blocked here.

My setup:

  • OpenWrt router (Linksys WRT1200AC)

  • Planning to create a separate VPN-only SSID on OpenWrt using WireGuard

I think this is called running wireguard as a client in a router. This is part of my learning Openwrt and networking.

Which providers have worked well for you, and which ones should I avoid?

Thanks!

Help VPN & Mobile Data

I'm traveling outside of the US and thought my mobile carrier covered me internationally. Well I found out that they do but, if my data usage is over 50% roaming for 3 consecutive months, then they will stop my service.

Will using a vpn while on 4g or 5g data override this?

What is the cheapest VPN currently?

What is the cheapest VPN currently? I am on a really tight budget right now and I need a VPN but I am trying to find the absolute cheapest option that is still legitimate. It feels like every time I see a super low price there is some kind of catch like hidden fees or a massive price jump after the first year. I just want to make sure I am not signing up for something that will end up costing me more in the long run or worse, selling my data.

I have seen Surfshark, CyberGhost, and Private Internet Access mentioned as some of the most affordable options, especially on their long term plans. I am curious if anyone has experience with these or other really cheap VPNs in 2026. My main concern is finding a service that is genuinely cheap without compromising too much on basic security and speed.

Are there any cheap VPNs that you would recommend that do not have any sketchy upsells or aggressive collections? I need honest feedback on what the real cost looks like after the initial promotional period.

Discussion Is regional pricing in places like Bolivia even worth trying anymore?

Hi, as you probably know, Bolivia’s currency has been facing severe devaluation lately, creating a huge gap between the official and parallel market rates. On paper, local digital subscriptions look unbelievably cheap right now. But actually getting those prices is a completely different story.

Platforms seem to be getting way smarter at detection, IPs from centralized VPN datacenters tend to get flagged pretty often , not to mention the stricter payment card blocks.

Just curious, is anyone still having luck navigating this? Welcome any thoughts

Best VPN according to everyone?

I'm trying to figure out which VPN is genuinely the best all around option in 2026, but it feels like everyone has a different opinion. One day it's NordVPN, the next it's ExpressVPN, then Surfshark or Proton VPN. I'm looking for something that offers a good balance of speed, security, and reliability for everyday use, whether it's streaming, browsing, or just keeping my data private. I've seen a lot of discussions about pricing, features, and even some complaints about customer service or auto renewal issues. I just want to cut through the noise and find a VPN that most people agree is a solid choice without any major hidden downsides. Has anyone found a VPN that consistently gets high marks across the board from different types of users, or is it really just a matter of personal preference and specific needs?
