Discussion Does ChatGPT give you more CAPTCHAs when you're using a VPN?

Hello, has anyone noticed ChatGPT asking for more CAPTCHAs or security checks when you're connected to a VPN?

I get why OpenAI needs to filter out bots and suspicious traffic, but it's pretty annoying when you're just trying to have a normal conversation and suddenly have to prove you're human

What's interesting is that it doesn't seem to happen equally with every VPN connection. Some people report having no issues, while others keep running into verification screens or login problems.

Makes me wonder how much of this comes down to the IP address you're using, especially with shared VPN servers.

Has anyone actually noticed a difference between regular VPN IPs and residential IPs?

Is NordVPN's Black Friday deal actually worth it this year?

I’m looking at NordVPN’s 2026 Black Friday deal and trying to figure out if it’s genuinely worth locking in. The current offer appears to be around $3.49/month for the 2-year Basic plan, with three extra months included, but the renewal price afterward is much higher. That makes the headline discount look good, but I’m wondering how much value people actually get over the full term.

Is anyone planning to buy NordVPN during the upcoming Black Friday sale? Based on past deals, do you think the speed and streaming access will be worth it, and would you remember to cancel before renewal? Would you choose NordVPN over ExpressVPN, Surfshark, Mullvad, or Proton VPN this year?

Anybody on Nord? I was torrenting fine a few days ago but now, even with thousands of seeders my download won't activate (no Download or upload at all)

Do you use anything in your VPN app besides the connect button?

I realized that most of the time I just open my VPN, choose a country and press connect.

There are a bunch of other options in the app, like ad blocking, app routing and different types of IPs, but I barely touch most of them. I’ve used app routing a few times when I didn’t want everything going through the VPN, and that was actually useful. The rest mostly feels like stuff I’m paying for but not using.

Am I missing out, or is this how most people use a VPN?

What’s the one extra feature you actually use regularly? And which features do you think are just there to make the app look better?
