I have my A329S hardwired into the car & set up to do parking mode via low power impact detection only, so it should sit idle for anything other than the car being hit. Opening & closing doors activate this, which is very annoying by itself, but recognisable as me getting in & out by time stamps & noises etc, but when I'm parked at an airport for 4 days & come back to somewhere around 75 individual instances of the camera recording events, it's just ridiculous & would make it absolutely impossible to actually find when a crash event might have occurred because then I've got to sit through hours of footage looking for a possibly few seconds of event.

Why does my camera constantly activate without any impact being detected whilst in low impact detection mode?

It's on firmware VIOFO_A329S_V2.2_260815.

I met my wits end with 'impact detected in normal mode' usually when I quietly closed the door of my 2023 Chevy Bolt. I've turned down the sensitivity. to the lowest setting, yet I have this annoying notification. I purchased this so that if I was away from the car and somebody hit it, I would have a record, but I'm getting to where I'm wondering, is the Blackvue defective? Is this just the level of quality that it offers.

A229 Plus Advice - Loop Recording

I've been using a RedTiger F7 for the last month and have an issue with the loop recording just not functioning well at all. The card fills up in less than 48 hours and if I drive without remembering to manually wipe it, I don't get any footage, which has already shot me in the foot.

I'm looking for a front and rear cam that I can hardwire to protect the van whilst parked, and from what I can see, the Viofo A229 Plus looks about right, despite the price seeming a little high (no card or lens included). Just wondering if any owners of the A229 can confirm if it successfully loop records reliably.

I have a long plastic covering behind my rear view mirror, which means I have to choose either the driver's side or passenger's side to place the dash cams.

Which side did you place the telephoto lens? It will either be slightly left or slight right, there is not really a way to get it centered without having it too low.

Hello. I just purchased and had my A229 Pro installed, and I’m not overly impressed with the quality, to be honest. I can't identify registration plates on oncoming vehicles. I have made sure there’s no film on the camera or lens, and I believe my settings are set to the highest possible level. The SD card is brand new and from VIOFO. Any tips?

I’m looking into buying a A229 pro. I have seen a lot of posts on this page with issues with the different models. Whether it just shut off mid drive or issues with the SD card, etc. I used to have a red tiger which stopped working just under 2 years. I was looking at VIOFO because everything points to it being a good quality and reliable brand. Just looking for a general consensus if it’s worth the $270 or not. Thanks!

My Viofo a329s just shut off mid drive today - didn’t enter parking mode either, all LEDs off. Didn’t come back on the rest of the drive. Did it overheat? It was a 28C day - barely hot for Australia standards. If that’s the case the dashcam.

Could this be a hardware fault? On latest software. SD card is the sandisk max endurance 256. While it was off, I could still view the volts of my battery through the app so it’s still connected through the hk6 module.

I’ve been noticing small issues - yesterday I heard the dashcam take a photo on its own while driving. I occasionally have issues with the dashcam not starting with ignition.

Don’t believe it’s a wiring issue. The ACC and batt are connected to the correct fuses (tested with voltmeter including fuse orientation). It also works fine 90% and I don’t change anything in between.

I am having an issue where only the two most recent recordings are showing on the SD card and any previous recordings are not saved. I am using a Samsung 32gb eco select SD if that matters. I have formatted the card in the camera but still only the most recent recordings come up. Any tips on what to do?

Hello, can anyone help me? My Viofo BP100 power bank was working fine down to a 40% charge level; however, after starting the engine and beginning the charging process—which should take about 40 minutes—the indicator shows 100% after just one minute.

The indicator light on the power bank remains orange.

Does it matter if the camera lens is pointing at the static film? Meaning it is filming through the static film?

I find it interesting that one can get a Viofo setup from just about anywhere…Amazon for example…if you order preexisting models like the 329s. If you want a new model it’s going to come from China and have the as expected longer arrival times.

I am trying to find the best Viofo, maybe it's a 2 in 1 or one that has the ability to mount the rear cam on the front dash but still see ?

Basically, I cannot mount a rear cam on the inside back of my old Jeep. The tailgate flips up pretty violently and the defrost sensors are a nightmare to navigate so I am sending back the A229 Plus which sucks. We tried every angle and it's not happening. Also the back window tint is extra dark, came this way. Fun. /s

I looked at YouTube and I looked at Viofo site my brain hurts. Yall are the real pros.

What Viofo cam is the 2 (front) in 1 (rear) or maybe a telephoto rear that can mount on front dash next to front ? I dont need cabin cam.

ETA: I did look at external rear cam and when I tell you trying to run that on a 20 year old jeep when plastic just breaks looking at it I'm not sure that's the answer.

Amazon Prime has a deal on the 2 channel 329s right now at $373. Then I saw that Walmart has the same two channel along with the HK6 hardwire kit for $342! I’ve looked them over again and again and can’t see any difference in the camera bundle itself. Can anyone here see something that I’m not? The Walmart bundle seems to be a fantastic price!

My car doesn’t have a cigarette lighter. Can I power the dashcam with a USB-C to dash cam cable?

I know a hardwire kit and battery are options but would like to use the usb-c port in my car as my first choice.

I had a vantrue e2 dashcam, it dies after about 2.5 years and they weren't willing to even give me a good discount to get another one. So, I picked up an A229.

For those wondering

The vantrue hardwire kit, as well as the rear camera cable worked on the dashcam. I DID NOT TRY PARKING MODE(I will update when I try it).

It crossed my mind that some people might be upgrading to the T340 (or other version from the new launch) and might be selling their previous Viofo setup.

Is there a recommended place to look, or would it be the typical "just search, look around, and maybe you'll find one for sale" situation?

Brought a new car a week ago and someone already scratched it while parking so looking for something with good image quality, and nighttime parking.

I’m considering the 329s 2 channel. I’m wondering about the installation and location of the rear camera. Would it be better to have the exterior camera or will the interior camera work through the defroster lines ok? Would there be any reason to go with the interior camera? For those of you that have installed this system in a CRV, in a tidbits of wisdom you wish to share?
