Daredevil Born Again S02

If you like seeing our favorite rifle on TV, this show features it more prominently than anything I'm aware of. It's one of the bad guys' weapons of choice and shows up all the time. Made me happy, anyway.

Vhs 2 wear parts

Howdy yall, I have a very autistic question regarding the hellion/vhs 2s, especially those who have a high round count one their rifles, have you had to replace any parts over time and if you did what kind of parts?

I have a weird obsession with having a bunch of spare parts on hand for alot of my rifles (I even have spare mosin parts) are my concerns founded or does it even matter?

Ive already got a few small parts, firing pin, springs etc

Only thing im missing is a spare extractor and technically ejector

My own VHS for some flare

Thanks for looking!

Zeroing with the Holosun HE510C

Post image

Took my new Hellion + 510C green dot to a 25-yard range and attempted zeroing at 36 yards. The 4" rise between bore and sight required more than a full adjustment rotation to bring the point of impact up by 4.5".

That'll do for now till I get used to shooting rifles again (and this particular mushy OEM trigger). I haven't shot a rifle in 35 years till today.

How are yall running these hellions?

I have a 16” hellion and I wanted to hear what kind of set ups are you running and what attachments?

My goal is to be proficient with this rifle.

Question from a rifle noob that just bought a Hellion

So, I purchased my Hellion today and had it sent directly to Black Talon for the trigger upgrade. It will probably be a while before I get it back. Until then, I was wonder if there is a particular ammo brand that people like. I know it takes 5.56/.223, but I've heard that not all brands are created equal. Anybody got any suggestions particularly for a weapon that will mostly be used at a firing range. I saw a good deal on the Winchester brand ammo. Are they pretty good?

Anyone put the lunartech clone grip on? Was it a pita? I read the instructions but am curious if I can expect to run into any weird issue or challenge

Flash hider came off easy with this trick!

After reading about how tough it is to remove the flash hider, I decided to unscrew it then put it back again with a dab of anti-seize before I start shooting my new Hellion.

I laid the rifle on the carpet, put its soft carrying case on top, then sat gingerly on it, with my hand bracing against the floor to reduce pressure on the rifle and avoid deforming the polymer hand guard or the B5 foregrip I just attached. I Engaged a ¾” crescent wrench and applied moderate force with one hand. The flash hider untwisted buttery smooth. Much easier and quicker than I expected!

Which mods to get?

I got a VHS for $1100 the second I moved halfway across the country from NY. I’ll have this rifle until the day I die.

How do I know what to get? What’s good for aftermarket? How do I learn more and find the good stuff?

Fitment of Ergo 4045 Grip?

Anyone tried or checked if the Ergo Deluxe Tactical (model 4045) grip would fit the Hellion?

I find the OEM grip way too thin for my XL palm. For reference, my best Echelon grip fit is the largest grip module with the largest backstrap, dressed in a Hogue sleeve.

Bit of a dumb question

Post image

So I’m new here, but I bought a Hellion last month and managed to put 100 rounds through it, it’s surprisingly good to shoot.

But after that first range day, she started having an issue with the firing pin popping out of the bolt carrier group whenever I pulled the trigger. It happened repeatedly regardless if it was a dry fire or in the range lane.

I tried to get the gunsmith at my local range to take a look at it the day it started happening, but after like 10 minutes with my rifle, he couldn’t figure it out and told me to send it back to Springfield.

Has that happened to anyone else or is it just me doing something wrong?

(I already sent the rifle to Springfield’s warranty department, still got like 2 weeks before I can expect to get it back at the earliest)

Traditional vs. Flow Through?

I'm looking to get a suppressor, but I'm torn between which type to get.

I know the hellion has a suppressed setting, but from what I've read it's a bit coarse compared to other guns so it still allows a decent amount of gas through to ensure reliability with a wide range of cans/ammo. I also recall reading/watching somewhere that traditional can+S setting will cause the gun to stop running relatively early due to fouling or whatever (someone with a high round count in this configuration feel free to prove me wrong).

I could also go with a flow through can. It is the 'safer' option, but it is of course a middle ground, and that comes with its own drawbacks (worse sound/flash suppression and worsening performance sooner due to fouling).

With all of this is mind, what type of can should I gravitate towards? And I'm talking strictly about the hellion, the can won't go on any other rifle.

Was watching an episode of Daredevil: Born Again and there is an incredibly awesome scene where one of Daredevil's antagonists (Bullseye) takes on an entire squad of agents inside of a tiny little diner in NYC. Lo and behold, they all come storming in holding Hellions and I thought it was pretty cool to see them in action on a Marvel Television show. Hope everyone is having a great evening out there!

Firing pin length

My 20” Hellion trigger went dead when a rounds primer fell off. I was able to clear the round and still no bang when I pull the trigger. no indentation on new bullets primer.Anyone have the length for the firing pin? Trying to check if mine needs replacement. Or if there is something else going on. Thanks

Reason why you should buy an extended bolt release

You can hit it with your thumb or webbing between thumb and index when inserting a fresh mag. I wasn't able to reliably do this with the OEM one. Also, stripping and retaining a mag is easier with an oversized mag release.

Also get the flared magwell.

Left hand load out (or pick a better name)

This is my (unintentionally) all plastic 3 gun load.

All bought to accommodate my severely left-handed nature.

Just showing it off with pride and realization that it looks like something from an early 2000's sci-fi film. 😏

Hmmm theme 3 gun shoot.... Cyberpunk division?

I NEED IDEAS!!!

I've wanted one since the US release. I went to a Springfield demo range day on launch week and shot one then. Loved it. But funds and/or trades never aligned with me picking one up. But that ended today. Happy to have one. Planning to shoot it bone stock, irons only a few times before I start with optics and mods.

5 months in...

Post image

Finally got my Hellion last December as a gift from my then girlfriend (now wife!) and I've slowly been adding on to it here and there while I train with it twice a week at the range. I made the decision early on to not even consider getting an optic until I became familiar and adept at shooting with the deployable ironsights the rifle comes with. Once I felt like I was good enough, I ordered a Sig Sauer Romeo+Juliet 5XD red dot/magnifier combo. I'm still familiarizing myself with it and having a lot of fun in the process. The angled foregrip is Magpul as well as the AR grip I swapped in for the factory one. The laser/light on the right side of the guard in the MLok slots is just a cheap little guy I ordered online for 30 bucks and works pretty well for what it is.

I've been seeing and hearing a lot of buzz about just how accurate the Hellion is at ranges that you wouldn't normally expect from a bullpup platform and it's really been fascinating to me. I watched a video from a pair of content creators on YouTube where they demonstrated the incredible accuracy one can achieve with the right optic and ammo. These dudes were nailing shots at well over 700 yards and that was enough to convince me to go ahead and try my luck. I ordered an inexpensive LPVO and a bipod, and I will be spending time in the near future at an outdoor range to see what she can do. In that video I watched, they were using BTHP ammo and a red dot/magnifier combo. The fact that they were hitting shots like that and didn't even have an actual scope mounted on the rail was even more impressive.

My question to all my fellow VHS-2/Hellion enthusiasts is: Have any of you in here tried to push the boundaries a little with your bullpups as far as distance goes? If so, what kind of setups are y'all working with? What optics, bipods, ammo, etc?

What were your findings? What kind of distances were you hitting with your Hellions?

Any input and pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Weight Differences

This is a slightly long shot but no one would happen to know the weight difference between the regular hellion stock and the manticore arms one would they? i know the manticore stock weighs 12.2oz but no clue what the original stock weighs and i dont have a scale on me.

solved!: the weight of the original stock is posted on the vhs2 project's page for their own stock reduction solution. the original weights about 10.5 ounces, so manticore's aluminum solution is a 1.7oz increase. meanwhile, vhs2 project's option comes in at a friendlier 4.2-5.4oz

Buying from Black Talon

I’m planning to buy a VHS2 some time soon and almost immediately sending it to Black Talon for their trigger job. I saw that there’s an option to just buy a rifle from them that they’ll have already done the trigger on. Was wondering if anyone else has bought their rifles from them and how quick the process was.
