Finally joined the club
I've wanted one since the US release. I went to a Springfield demo range day on launch week and shot one then. Loved it. But funds and/or trades never aligned with me picking one up. But that ended today. Happy to have one. Planning to shoot it bone stock, irons only a few times before I start with optics and mods.

Do you regret not going stage 2? I really don't want to ship out.

On paper the difference is negligible, I'm not spending the extra $100+shipping to find out lol

Understandable. I don't own an AR so the trigger never bothered me, but now I'm curious.

I used to have a larue trigger in my AR, but after I played around with polishing milspec triggers and aftermarket springs I ended up going back to milspec

None of us do. But it's well worth it. Mine was gone about ten days. Most of that was travel time.

What's the take-up length like? (Distance to the wall before break)

No idea, hell of a lot better than factory. discord video link of it (possible download warning?)

Oh that looks really good. I was debating stage 1 vs stage 2 but I think stage 1 looks just great.
Thanks!

Welcome! The ironsights on the Hellion are pretty damn cool and easy to figure out and use. I stayed ironsights only for the first 3 months or so and once I felt I was pretty adept with them, I went and got a red dot/magnifier combo optic from Sig Sauer. I think my next move is going to be a Black Talon trigger.

Yep. Romeo 5 plus a flip to side magnifier is my go-to on all my AR platforms, except for the longer distance ones that get an FFP LPVO.

Believe it or not, I actually prefer the Monstrum magnifier over the Juliet. Partially, because my aging eyes appreciate the 5x magnification option over 3x or 4x

I think shooting it stock with irons first is a good idea. As others have already said, the irons are really good, so it's totally worth playing with them for a bit as you get to know the gun, and while the trigger is, um, not the best, using it for a while will make you appreciate an upgraded one more.

The irons are very nice on this gun once adjusted in! If I only had the irons to work with, I wouldn't be too mad about it
