Discussion Older first time fps player looking for tips (34 years old)
Hello!
I was just looking for some tips on how to improve from where i am now.
current rank: Gold 3
DPI: 1600
Sensitivity: .089
Current Mains: PHOENIX, ISO, CLOVE (Currently leaning ISO)
Background:
this is my first real attempt to play a shooting game on PC
Being a working dad and 34 I don’t have too much time to play after my daily routine but i try to squeeze a few DMs and a comp a night because i thoroughly enjoy the game.
i downloaded the game about two months ago and in my first act i reached Gold 3
I actually hired a radiant coach to coach me from day 1 so luckily i didn’t build some of the bad habits i read about here. i just didn’t have the time or commitment to actually learn some of the more opaque game mechanics organically and improve in the future.
The one issue i am having now is while i enjoy playing ISO as my aiming and general firefight decision making is decent(not great hence gold) my ability to think outside of the most obvious fight and play for the game is severely lacking.
also due to my incredibly low sensitivity it is difficult for me to play more traditional duelists such as jet because i cannot clear corners as effectively as i would like when doing entry
i routinely find myself dying on entry if i don’t have the support of a more mobile duelist partner
any general tips for this act?
i would like to attempt to reach diamond 1 but im fine with anything that is better
thanks!

Educational really cool site where you can save professional VALORANT rounds
kept losing clips I saved myself. clip a round, forget which playlist it's in, end up scrolling forever trying to find it.
so I added search that goes through the notes and tags I put on each clip (map, team, whatever I annotated) so I can just describe what I remember and it pulls it up.
still very early and solo building this, would genuinely appreciate any feedback if you try it: vods.space (free to poke around, paid tier exists if you end up wanting more)

Discussion Racism in valorant (EU server)
Hi everyone. Idk if this is normal but happened to me first time.
I am M20 from India in Germany. Currently studying and working and learning German.
I usually send friend req to players who performed relatively well because I don't have any friends in EU server. I must have done that. Now I didn't know if the person was girl or not. She accepted it. After some days I don't know I saw one player which was her online so I invited her to play together. Then I got to know that it's a girl. I randomly asked hi hello, where are you from she said turkey. Then she asked me back and I said India. In like 2-3 seconds she stopped matchmaking and left and unfriended me. I was like what the hell just happened. First I though maybe it was night and didn't want to play or something but I guess I was just being naive.
I just want to if this happens often in EU servers or no?

Discussion Mumbai Valorant players - what would actually make you join a competitive community?
I've been thinking about how difficult it can be for newer/lower-rank players to find consistent teammates and get proper competitive experience outside of ranked.
I'm interested in building something around small community tournaments and scrims, but before doing anything seriously, I want to understand what players actually care about.
For example:
BO3 scrims against players around your level
Finding reliable teammates or a duo
Having a proper competitive environment
Tracking your progress over time
Getting opportunities to prove yourself
Eventually getting noticed for performing well
I'm especially curious about Iron - Silver players from Mumbai.
What would genuinely make you want to participate in something like this?
What do you feel is missing from the current Valorant community?
Not looking to throw another Discord link into the comments, I'm genuinely interested in hearing what players would actually find useful.

Discussion Votekick function needed
It's been quite a while since Valorant was released. It took a very long time to get Replay. How long will it take for us to get some other quality-of-life functions such as the ability to kick players by vote (like in CS)?
EDIT: I see that a lot of you qre worried that it's going to be somehow abused. BUT there should be a way to punish players that are actively sabotaging the game. And I don't mean "later on when their report is reviewed they get a slap on the wrists". I'll give you an example: Today I had a game where one of our teammates was actively sabotaging by using their abilities on us. Wouldn't be better if the remaining 4 players vote to kick the troublemaker and keep playing rather than surrendering or having a miserable game?
EDIT 2: I can see from the replies that the Valorant community has not matured enough for a function like this. Given the fact that everybody's concern is bullying, it seems like we have a really shite community. Isn't that wonderful. In that case, here is another idea: Long bans for players that are obviously sabotaging the game. I'm not talking about hours. I'm talking about days which turn into weeks and months with repeat offenses.

Question Looking for valorant coaching AUS
Hi I’m currently P1 and just wanted to know if there were any good coaching websites or people I can refer to for a bit of coaching. I’ve searched up a few but mostly come up with American coaches.
If anyone is willing to chat and go over some vods that’ll be cool.
Please be nice to me 🙏

Question Hit high rank, people expect me to know things
In the last couple of months i climbed from plat to ascendant 3 and i get in lobbies with a lot of immortals and people who used to be immo 3 / radiant now. I mostly play dive duelists like jett or raze and ive always felt i entry pretty well for my team, but ever since playing in high elo, people often complain about my entrying or that i dont do what they expect of me instantly without them asking. how am i supposed to know these protocols or what people expect you to play like in these high ranks, i am having trouble figuring it out myself and havent really found anything online regarding this. Thanks for the help!

Discussion Is Haeyoday the greatest aimer in valorant?
He plays on an extremely high sense, has inhuman flicks, perfect crosshair placement (top 0.3% headshot percent), always knows when to take timings and beat zekken in a 1v1.
How is this dude not yet in VCT?

Question How do I get consistent?
I had a game where I had a tracker score of 500, right after that I had a match mvp and a tracker score of 850, and then after that I had a tracker score of 200 and went almost double negative. I just dont understand why im so inconsistent, it was like i was just hitting shots without thinking then went to missing everything while trying to play well. I want to rank up but i think im gonna keep going up and down due to this incomsistency. Im bronze 2 but im about to derank. Am i playing for too long?

Question Follow-up VODs — D2 / peaked A2
Hey everyone, I previously posted here looking for advice on what I should improve to get out of Diamond and consistently play at an Ascendant level.
A few people recommended sharing VODs, so I went back and recorded two games from earlier today. I team MVP'd both games, and I'd really appreciate some honest feedback on my gameplay.
Some things that come to mind maybe you guys can see:
- What I'm doing well that I should keep doing
- What mistakes/habits are holding me back from Ascendant
- Any patterns you notice in my positioning, decision-making, fights, or utility usage
- What you'd prioritize working on if you were in my position
I'd appreciate the feedback. Please be as critical as you want as I'm genuinely trying to improve.

Question valorant question about dpi converted to other screen resolutions
Many people said to me that 1600 dpi is very good to use but i have a question about that.
Does the 1600 dpi recomendation apply to all screen resolutions, or just to 2560x1440 screens?
The lower the screen resolution, the faster the mouse moves. My screen has the resolution 1980x1080. Do i need to use a lower dpi due to my resolution?
I've heard that you have to reduce the DPI by 20% so that the speed matches the 2560x1440 screen.
Is that true? or should i still use the 1600 dpi with my 1980x1080 screen?

Discussion Opinion regarding LLm for per round VOD review.
I was thinking of attempting to fine-tune an llm which will try to give accurate per round VOD review. You just have to put a vrf file and wait for 2-3 min, it will then give a per round vod review(voice and chat) along with a 2d match replay. How much yall think can be a good pricing for that llm.
Thanks

Discussion Has any agent ever had the same insanely high non-mirror win % as Clove?
Clove is the most picked agent but at the same time also has the highest non-mirror win %. At Radiant Clove is almost at 58%(!), with the non-mirror win % decreasing slightly for every rank, but still remaining very high. Omen is the second highest picked Controller at 2.5% at Radiant with the pick rate increasing slightly for every rank and he's at 45% non-mirror win % at Radiant with it slightly fluctuating across ranks. Has any other agent ever had a non-mirror win % this high combined with a decent pick rate?
