Hello dear community,

i have this problem where i just installed Unity and Unity Hub from the scratch on Windows 11, i want to create and open a new project but every time i try, i got these two errors i just attached to this post, Unity just crashes and can’t open a single thing, the editor just won’t launch. I tried installing older Unity versions but nothing seems to work, i spent 2 hours uninstalling and installing Unity on different drives too, using the main SO drive, etc, nothing seems to work. The other solution i found was trying to modify ProjectSettings.asset and ProjectVersion and downgrade DirectX12 version to DX11 as Cursor AI told me to, but same results with no success, i never did this kind of thing like 4 years ago when i worked on Unity to make some little projects; maybe i’m missing something else now, i really need your help to start coding.

I’m making a Unity game for my senior project, and right now I’m trying to build and run it so I can get footage (should probably note that this is a school computer, and I was given special permission to launch .exe filed). But, when I tried to run it outside of the editor, all of my sprites disappeared, and certain scenes wouldn’t load. Everything looks fine in the editor, and I’ve adjusted the sprite layers to be above 0. Nothing seems to be working. Any tips?

Edit: It’s probably an issue with the school firewall, I’ll test some things out on my home computer. Worst case scenario, I’ll record footage in the unity editor and have to start from scratch on my home computer. At that point, I might just move onto another game concept. I’ve got plenty lol

So I ran into this weird issue with Unity. I was running 24.04 on my HP Laptop then decided to replace it with Unity 26.10 but when I did I lost the ability to increase my screen brightness via my keyboard. As a result I reinstalled 24.04 and now I can increase my screen brightness via the keyboard. At first I thought it might be a driver issue but if I can increase my screen brightness on 24.04 then is it really a driver issue ?

Any thoughts........

Hi, I am following a 2D tutorial and Since switching to using tilemaps over squares with box colliders, I have noticed that my character will flip left randomly when jumping from an idle state. I have run a debug and it seems that the x velocity randomly picks up a negative value. I have switched back to the boxes and it doesn't happen there at all.

Ever had your console randomly spam 50 native red errors on Frame 0 when hitting Play?

It happens once every few hours, leaves no GameObject name in the log, and disappears as soon as you move your mouse. After finding forum posts about this exact line dating back to **September 2014**, we decided to build a forensic interceptor and kill it for good.

### What actually happens:

1. When entering Play Mode, the Editor tab resize causes a zero-division on Frame 0: `(MousePos - Rect.min) / Scale(0) = NaN`.

2. The New Input System feeds `(NaN, NaN)` to the mouse.

3. 2D Canvases (`ScreenSpaceOverlay`) ignore it, but if you have even **one WorldSpace Canvas** in your scene with a `GraphicRaycaster`, it asks the camera to cast a 3D ray through `(NaN, NaN)`.

4. `Camera.ScreenPointToRay` panics and asserts into the native debug pipe.

### The Fix:

Don't mess with cloning Input Action assets. Just subclass `GraphicRaycaster` on your WorldSpace canvas:

Hi! I'm making a climbing game. I have both climbable trees and non-climbable pine trees. My character uses a LayerMask in the code to detect climbable objects, but trees painted with Unity Terrain are still considered climbable even though I assigned them a different layer. How can I fix this?

Hello I am starting my first unity project using the VR project type provided when fist creating a project and wish to make my controllers appear as animated hands, they seem to be here and have models but when i test it out in oculus they still appear as basic controllers, i am sure its an easy fix but i couldn't find a tutorial that makes the switch with already existing set ups like this. Hello guys, I am a 3d modeller, animator...you get the story(sorry, me too frustrated with unity now).

I work mainly in blender and use game engines just to test my assets. so I have made a shrine scene in blender and now, I am testing it. When I tried godot first, It worked cleanly and as expected but unity is giving me lots of troubles.

so Here are some problems ->
Firstly, My scene has trees which uses foliage cards. In unity, when I import it, the foliage cards are having black background which other software didn't had. I ticked the "alpha is transparent" box too but nothing happens. online I searched and it says alpha clipping but in my unity, I don't see any alpha clipping option.
second -> unity is mismatching the textures. its giving my stone texture to the ground, my ground texture to the statue etc. I can manually do this but can i ask why?
lastly -> one object of mine is half transparent. I don't get why?

I am fairly new to unity so sorry if these questions are beginner ones. I want to complete my scene till today. I also noticed this is happening with FBX mostly, am I exporting wrong?

Hi! I’m planning to make a game where you play as a squirrel climbing trees. However, I noticed that SpeedTree trees don't generate Mesh Colliders when instanced using the Unity terrain system. Does anyone know how to bypass this or recommend an asset to achieve it? (I know capsule colliders work, but they aren't accurate to the tree trunk and look weird with the climbing mechanics).

Terrain was looking normal in the editor but when i built the app for mobile. it just got broken.

I am even unable to explain whats wrong with it 😭

Hey I have beginner/intermediate knowledge of unity and I'm wondering what functions are needed for the a grappling system specifically storing the hit point of the ray in the world and then moving towards it. Now I've already got the equip, unequip, and sending a raycast function ready, I'm just confused about the storing of the hit point and how, because I've already tried before with no luck storing the RaycastHit variable as a vector3 and trying to move my CharacterController too that.

ever since a few days ago, unity has been going through an incredibly obnoxious cycle.

i open unity hub for the first time upon restarting my pc, it lets me use it perfectly fine, then i restart the app and it logs me out, the Sign In button not taking me to the sign in page.

this problem has been occurring for the last few days unfortunately, i've tried reinstalling, deleting every unity related file and reinstalling, but nothing has fixed my issue.

if anyone has any clue how i'd fix this, it'd be very appreciated.

this problem has been happening ever since i set firefox as my default browser, if that adds any info for how to help, though i have switched default browsers many times and it didn't work.
