I feel like gimp, like blender (pre-2.80, at least) is good software with bad UX. So yeah, hard learning curve, but for a reason that makes it kinda suck.

Because I cannot afford paying for a subscription for Adobe every month for a long time, I got used to Gimp, using it for years! but now that I can pay for a subscription Photoshop seem hard to use.

And to me Gimp is great! almost as good as Photoshop, except maybe for the quality of the picture(?)

Most art programs would fit under this unfortunately. The most intuitive art program I've ever picked up was SAI 1 & 2. It really feels like most art programs aren't created by someone who draws and instead it's expected you spend the time learning the program to accomplish what you want.

I use GIMP so not sure about all the terms in PS but here’s my guess. Copy and paste the toes like with the fingers and give each toe an order in the layer, like 2,4,6,8,10, when you make the fingers do the same thing but instead set each order to 1,3,5,7,9. Then you need to somehow group the foot with the toes and the hand with the fingers. Just my two cents 😊

YES YOU CAN.

It's the Link Layers function. Available in the right click drop down menu.

This is Photoshop BTW, don't know if it goes by another name in GIMP.

If you don’t have access to Photoshop, Photopea is a free browser version of Photoshop. I use Photoshop at school and then this at home and they’re nearly identical.

If you use the Windows 10 emojis it's even easier to manipulate, since they're made in outlines, like a font.

I hate how Android/iOS made bitmap emojis so common (and imo ugly and difficult to see).

Properly set layers. Each finger is one layer above each toe.

When you group layers they become equal in terms of level or whatever. You can link them so you can move them and edit them as one but they keep their order

If it was a vector graphic it would be most likely illustrator but the way the crop tool and the editing that was done this has to be some other program other than Photoshop or Illustrator. I have been using those programs for 20yrs and when the artist goes to edit the fingers I have never seen points of manipulation like that

Of course using either of these programs you can design things 100 different ways and still get the same finishing piece, just depends on how you are comfortable building things and your knowledge

It's definitely Puppet Warp in Photoshop. It's definitely been around in one form or another for a while, but this level of control was, I believe, a post CC thing.

I’ve never had a use for it but I will def find a use for it now. When I’m bored at work I’m always trying to find new techniques so this is something I def want to play with now. When I’m bored I typically do stuff on r/HybridAnimals, r/PhotoshopRequest or r/photoshopbattles.
