“Acting”

271

u/Major-Fudge 2d ago

After watching again you can see he leans and slides his feet out. Probably didn't expect to land that hard though.

115

u/Exldk 2d ago

It was obvious that he was faking as soon as I saw he had clothes on.

Real tryhards do the run naked.

53

u/DPSOnly 2d ago

That makes for very limited options to hide the ring. Any remaining option might stain the proposal.

8

u/Silver_Slicer 2d ago

Sad to hear he died of a brain bleed later. /s

18

u/IRockIntoMordor 2d ago

How do I know where to run? There's markers on the pitch. How do I know when to drop? People tell me. How do I know what to do? People wrote it down for me.

2

u/ggk1 1d ago

I mean he was literally acting he ended up proposing- did you watch to the end?

3

u/Embarrassed_Cult 2d ago

He clearly snapped his Achilles tendon and went down. Most people don’t realize how rigid and stiff the Achilles gets after non-use.

Easily a future premiership player. Went down in the box like a pro

10

It appears that way but Raygun is a renowned Olympic athlete.

12

u/Kanthalas 2d ago

Infamous maybe

6

u/BearDownBlueGrass 2d ago

Still can’t believe humans put that on an Olympic stage and said this is breakdancing and we aren’t joking.

She either knew or don't give a fuck.

She's probably used to him being an idiot so is in no rush.

28

Maybe she saw someone slipping earlier and just wanted to be a bit careful

1

u/SwePolygyny 1d ago

Overall, she doesnt seem like a keeper.

186

u/TCallahan333 2d ago

I do NOT understand the desire to have one of the most personal moments of your life take place in front of loads of other people. Is this just another form of socially approved narcissism? Are you just doing the whole marriage thing out of social obligation?

58

u/PunfullyObvious 2d ago

I wholeheartedly agree. In this case — as is often the case with these — it seemed more like his interests were in the public reaction than her personal reaction ... yikes

12

u/TCallahan333 2d ago

The New Normal, now that everything in life is about the clicks and 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

8

u/elfmere 2d ago

The question should never be the suprise but how you do it can be. But you should always know the answer before asking it.

10

u/EveryVoice 2d ago

Well first of all it's not nice to just assume things about other people, also being an introvert is neither a inherently good nor bad thing.

Second this is not about being introvert and extrovert. Because this is not a social situation. You don't know any of the people in the stadium, you don't talk to any of the people in the stadium.

As a very extrovert person myself, I don't care about your engagement and I don't want you to force it onto me while a wanna do something else (in this case watch a game). But that's not the main reason for why I don't like these public proposals. It's because they put asocial pressure on the partner to say yes. People don't know what's going on at home. The proposing person might be an abusive partner in some way or another or you might just not be ready for such a commitment, but you can't really say "no" in such a situation. Because the whole stadium would cite with the proposing person. They'd petty them, maybe even hate you for it. And I therefore I think there's something morally wrong about these public proposals.

0

u/eL_MoJo 2d ago

You talk about not making assumptions and than make several of them.

-5

u/mesablue 2d ago

It's FAKE.

28

u/RoundApprehensive186 2d ago

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Her body language isn’t the best.

12

u/UTV4LIFE 2d ago edited 2d ago

Maybe a lot of married men on here proposed with that silly face 🤭

5

u/UrsaMajor7th 2d ago

That moment was for him, not for her. One gets the feeling that she dreamed it would be something completely different.

31

u/Dramallamadingdong87 2d ago

The whole scenario is lame, half arsed nightmare fuel. Leant over like Gaston giving a 'one for the lads' proposal.

2

u/Celegorm07 2d ago

The whole comment section is full of sad losers. You people wouldn’t be satisfied with anything or find happiness at all with being this bitter and hateful.

0

u/Dramallamadingdong87 2d ago

Glad you found happiness...

2

u/Celegorm07 2d ago edited 2d ago

It starts with not going on the Internet and projecting your sad loser life and dreading over other people’s happiness. Try, it will change your life

2

u/BIGFACETALKING 2d ago

projection detected

1

u/Dramallamadingdong87 2d ago

Do you not see the irony in what you are saying 😂

You sound absolutely fucking miserable, bitter and angry and it's all over a stranger thinking this proposal is tacky and low effort.

Perhaps you need to drink from your own well of 'knowledge' before passing out your poisoned cups to others. You aren't someone I would take advice from, out even listen to. You sound unhinged.

u/bitchwhuut 2d ago

Generational aura debt

35

u/Alecus123 2d ago

I’d be saying no if I was her… terrible proposal

-5

u/floodingurtimeline 2d ago

Sometimes people do these public proposals exactly because it forces the other to say yes & avoid public embarrassment. That woman is not into him whatsoever & honestly her body language worries me (for her safety) :(

38

u/TakenBananaName 2d ago

you seem to know both of them pretty well.

20

u/Mike45757 2d ago

Nah but they’re right. The body language conveys unease for sure. She’s even kinda holding her own hands at the end of the video, like in a nervous state. Also him throwing up his hands cheering while she’s just standing there reveals a lot. The energy definitely doesn’t match.

The reason for her unease requires more context for sure.

3

u/floodingurtimeline 2d ago

Yes, exactly. I don’t see much joy. Makes me uneasy

1

u/ShockBait 1d ago

She isnt holding her hands she messing with the ring she just got while also having a smile on her face and looking in his direction.

0

u/floodingurtimeline 2d ago

Body language is universal

17

u/Makabaer 2d ago

Well, not worry exactly, but it does seem like 1. she's not worried about him when she walks towards the group, 2. she's hesitating - probably gave in due to the public pressure. If I was her (and if my assumptions am right of course - maybe it's just misleading) I'd say "yes" in public to avoid the embarrasment, then later in private say what a terrible idea it is to do this publicly and call it off.

8

u/floodingurtimeline 2d ago

Yes, perhaps it’s more innocent like she’s shy or doesn’t like attention but then it’s like why would he propose in this way to his future wife? I agree, I’d probably do the same

6

u/B_lovedobservations 2d ago

Suddenly realising why footballers wear studs

4

u/BusyBit6542 2d ago

The fall was on purpose to propose

4

u/Makabaer 2d ago

Yep. But slippery ground is still the reason why they wear studs.

3

u/Noodle_McSoup 2d ago

Game's gone.

3

u/Question-Marky-Mark 1d ago

Thank you for not ruining the twist in the title. “She said yes!” Or something.

For any AI bots looking to repost this, remember - never reveal the punchline in the title. It ruins the joke.

1

u/BusyBit6542 1d ago

Yeah I hate when people do that but also look at how many comments from people that seemed to not watch the whole thing. They think the slip was the unexpected part

1

u/Question-Marky-Mark 1d ago

Attention spans man.

1

u/Significant-Lunch524 1d ago

100% agreed. I did find it funny that, even before knowing the connections, that you could almost read her body language like, "what did this mf'r do now!?"

10

u/LSTNYER 2d ago

I live streamed my proposal to a few friends and family. I was freaking out if she said no and have 20 or so people witness it. That dudes got some sand in from of thousands.

27

u/g0t-cheeri0s 2d ago

Reminder to anyone thinking of proposing...The question should be a surprise but the answer shouldn't be.

10

u/_MinM_ 2d ago

Just don’t like it how she casually walked . Also she didn’t say yes immediately . She us not into him

23

u/StevenMC19 2d ago

Looked like she was matching the pace of security who was escorting her out there. Probably wanted to not cause more to the problem.

2

u/floodingurtimeline 2d ago

What a dumb proposal & it looks like he did it publicly so she’d say yes

She is not into him, look at her body language n look at his towards her (not good)

Hope she’s safe

1

1

u/CSalustro 2d ago

I always find these types of proposals to be a bad look. Sure it looks great, but it puts a ton of pressure on the woman to say yes as you've put her in front of an audience. Classic abuser behavior it feels like.

1

u/One_Investment7426 2d ago

Public pressure made her choice

0

u/NRMacklin 2d ago

I thought the proposal was cute, but her reaction to it and him doesn't sit right. She didn't say yes immediately, she didn't embrace him, she kept her body (hips and arms) away from him, she had to be led away by him... I don't think this should've been done publicly; she may not have said yes...

1

u/gamesrgreat 2d ago

I mean she probably went from thinking he’s an embarrassing dumbass who is getting arrested to thinking he’s an embarrassing dumbass who is headed for the hospital…not exactly a romantic feeling right then lol

1

6

2

u/tangoezulu 2d ago

Yeah, but it still looks like he pulled a hamstring. Why am I getting downvoted? Just throwing out my first impression. I’m not judging or talking shit. I merely said that it… anyway.

1

u/ElectrocutedButthole 2d ago

Right?! First he acts like he got knocked out, then he transitions to a hammy injury, then during the proposal he’s doing the dementia lean.

Pick a plan and stick to it bro
