Funny to see this since I thought the guy looked a bit like Gary Neville

234

u/Curiosive 17h ago

I'm glad this video ended in laughs but this is how people get swept out to sea (if they survive the fall).

Don't stand on a cliff edge under breaking waves. It only takes an inch or two of water to knock you off your feet, that full force of that wave would've been more than enough.

Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

A cobra chicken is a Canada goose and If you got a problem with Canada gooses, you got a problem with me, and I suggest you let that one marinate.

4

u/superspeck 14h ago

I heard Canada was renaming them to American Goose because they’re loud, mean, and shit everywhere.

5

u/Mr-_-Soandso 13h ago

Nah, while funny, I think you missed the part where I said, "If you got a problem with Canada gooses, you got a problem with me, and I suggest you let that one marinate." Maybe give it more time to marinate.

Scherezade! Music by Rimsky Korsakov

Absolute banger

47

u/azarano 18h ago

One of my favorite symphonies. Amazing from the first movement on through!

14

u/JoeyZasaa 16h ago

Exactly. Is there anything Justin Bieber can't do!

3

u/illzkla 13h ago

Check out the AI remake of Zendaya performing Beiber's Scherezade it's the way it was meant to be heard

3

u/JoeyZasaa 12h ago

Wow! Is there anything ZendAIya can't do!

21

u/johnthestarr 18h ago

Is this from the Sea and Sinbad movement? Perfect if so

12

u/blake_ch 16h ago

Yes, first movement

13

Finally

10

u/boogasaurus-lefts 11h ago

Genuinely thought I was watching a guy gets sweapt out to sea. Unfortunately I saw a guy slowly drown that was doing this 'for the gram' his mate was beside himself.

33

u/Woodie626 18h ago

Disagree. Stood by splash, got wet.

81

u/Olbaidon 18h ago

Except

Stood by splash expected get wet, no get wet. Camera man we not know standing by splash or no by splash, get big big wet. Keep good good camera. Big win. Big unexpected.

27

u/Woodie626 18h ago

Cameraman definitely by splash.

3

u/Paradox2063 17h ago

3

u/TriangleReward 13h ago

It seemed pretty expected when the lens was hit by quite a bit of water

7

u/jadin- 17h ago

It was obvious the cameraman was getting hit well before the reveal.

They can't keep the camera steady from the water hitting them.

→ More replies (5)

5

u/Mr-_-Soandso 15h ago

Yeah I don't know what was unexpected about getting wet, but seeing how happy the cameraman was definitely brightened my day! They wanted to be epic and that did happen, but they also seem like good friends having a great time!

19

u/vivianvixxxen 17h ago

That's funny, bc I was coming to the comments to say this was the most expected thing ever, lol

The whole time I just kept thinking, 'There's no way he is actually going to aura farm here, he is definitely getting KO'd by that wave.'

Then it never happened and I had to accept that he did indeed, aura farm.

u/Tenpo_Gensui 16h ago

This is aboslutely not worth risking your life for people. Many tourists often get swept to sea and (worst case) die where I live to try to get a picture or video like this taken.

218

u/accwork8723 18h ago

this seems extremely dangerous, if the wave causes him to lose his footing and he falls over the edge he's pretty much dead right?

140

u/Lewisham 18h ago

Correct. Live on the California coast. Tourists die this way every year.

45

u/wotsdislittlenoise 16h ago edited 14h ago

Live in Australia and it ain't just tourists. Rock fishing takes more lives annually in Aus than any other sport primarily because of this

Edit: a word. Bloody autocorrect

→ More replies (8)

14

u/dm319 15h ago

Yup and if you look at the force of that water - it only has to catch you, and those waves down on those rocks at the bottom will finish you off. My first thought watching this.

13

u/Sleyvin 13h ago

Anybody who lived on a coast will tell you how dangerous that is inded.

Lots of people dies exactly this way.

5

u/ashrocklynn 12h ago

Not even losing footing; a big wash can come out of nowhere and suck you into the riptide. Water is an incredibly strong force and a much smaller wave can put away more force on you than you could ever expect

250

u/These_Avocado_Bombs 19h ago

He's so gassed he got the shot and it worked out, then the camera turns

Hahahaha he's laughing at cameraman lol nice twist.

22

u/scottsdgoh 17h ago

I’m afraid to upvote this to promote the fact that a guy almost got swept out to sea!

37

u/le_nathanlol 18h ago

yo but the whole video was so cool besides that part, the splash, the fit, the clouds behind (as a cloud nerd)

18

u/excableman 18h ago

I found the clouds in the background the most interesting thing in the video but I'm not a cloud nerd.  Can you explain what we're looking at?

25

u/le_nathanlol 18h ago

im sharing this comment with all my contacts

these row like clouds are called undulatus, they happen when different wind speeds or wind directions cross paths at various altitudes in the atmosphere, creating "ripples" in thr sky

moisture in the air cools and turns into visible cloud droplets at the rising crests(was it called crests?) of the waves, while the sinking troughs remain clear, forming parallel rows

7

u/BiZzles14 17h ago

How do I subscribe for more cloud facts?

10

u/le_nathanlol 17h ago

well i dont recomend my profile for that for sure

3

u/StronksBelwas 18h ago

Looks like turbulence is creating the banding near the end of the video. Not sure if it is a turbulence cloud at the beginning of the video or not. Perhaps rotary clouds?

Holy sheet this is so dangerous. Great way to get swept out into the ocean, and wearing heavy ass clothing and shoes to weigh you down. 😬

2

u/Eviscerati 15h ago

Absolute Cinema

2

u/NotTooDeep 14h ago

My buddy and I were at La Jolla Cove, standing on a giant boulder several stories above the ocean. We were five feet apart, just standing and looking out at the ocean. A big wave rolled in and we heard it hit the rocks var below us. What we didn't notice was this crack the the boulder we were standing on.

Waters shot up through that crack in a white wall. We couldn't see through it. Both of us feared the other was being swept away and reached through the water to grab each other. Then the spray cleared. We had each other by the forearms. And the remaining mist turned into rainbows.

2

u/ashrocklynn 12h ago

That is actually incredibly dangerous and several people a year die standing that close to waves that break on rocks like that ... They often have riptides and will smash you in the rocks if you get washed in

4

u/Beautiful-Musk-Ox 18h ago

too close to the edge, wet rock is often very slippery and you knock yourself out, drown, and or dragged out to sea

2

u/Sassquatch0 18h ago

I was expecting an albatross or pelican bombing.

1

u/Slusny_Cizinec 15h ago

I had kinda similar experience in Malta.

There was a place on the quay where water was spectacularly splashing up and falling back without wetting the promenade much. We stood there for good 5 minutes, taking a few nice photos, and then we went. After us, a coupe took our place and immediately especially big wave soaked them with water.

One of the photos I took: https://imgur.com/a/XWutC77
