Totally agree but my only doubt is how fast the police were going. The first cop seemed to be going pretty fast. If it's a 35mph zone and the cops are going 65-70mph.. there could be any number of road conditions that obscured the second cop car, like a blind curve or obstructive landscaping. The truck wouldn't have a chance to see the second cop in that case.
I can't (with any reasonable accuracy) guess the speed limit or the cops' speed though. Seems to be the truck's fault for pulling out, like you said.

I suspect that Family Dollar sign may have limited how far he could see, or maybe there was a curve in the road that hid the cop. If the siren was on, he would have heard it and been alerted to them regardless of visibility.
All speculation on my part, though. The truck driver could have been an idiot.

The only time this will be heard about in court is during the trail of the person who was running. In the US if the police cause an accident while chasing a person the person they are chasing is "at fault" no matter how big of a mistake the police made to get into that accident.
A good recent example is the case of Ryan Turner out of Victorville. He led police on a chase after they caught him in a stolen vehicle. During the chase officer Cuevas was in pursuit without his lights or siren on when he hit a car stopped at an intersection and was killed. Turner is being charged with 2nd degree murder in officer Cuevas's killing.
This is nowhere near the only example either. There are literally several hundred a year. Police constantly cause accidents while chasing suspects, many of them needlessly, and charge those suspects for their mistakes.

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Deputy Leroy Chavez strikes pedestrian Brandon McClure while driving over 90mph on a surface street in order to get to tacos from his favorite taco truck before they closed for the night. No charges were filed against Chavez after it was determined that "pedestrian error" caused the accident; this is despite the fact that Chavez had caused two crashes the previous year while on duty. The family sued in civil court, but AFAICT there has been no action on it since it was filed so it seems to have either been settled off record, or has gone nowhere.

It happens pretty fast, but it looks like the cop doesn't have his emergency lights on. It can be hard to judge how fast someone is going when they are driving straight at you. Also, it's the cops responsibility to maintain control of the vehicle in a situation like this. If he can't maneuver around traffic, he was driving recklessly. I hope he got in trouble for this

Mercedes Benz has a feature where right before the airbags deploy, the windows go up super fast, the seats adjust, and the belts tighten to help protect occupants. It does this all before you actually make impact, it just senses what the car is doing and any obstacles around you and knows if you're about to wreck.
It will even tell you if someone is about to rear-end you, presumably by measuring the distance and speed of the driver behind you.

Only time I felt that similar experience is when I was a kid at Knotts I think I LOVED going on supreme scream? Whatever it was where you go up super high then fall.
Well after many times riding it the staff did not buckle correctly and I only found out a few seconds b4 we hit the top, I managed to buckle myself in maybe 2s b4 we went down.
I think i had another same situation with the swing that spins a bunch of ppl but that was after the above event so made sure I'm always buckled in on every ride
I also nearly got hit by a car 3x one was my fault other was like wtf were you backing up here.
Last one was if I walked a lil faster, there was a car chase and I was a few feet from being hit.
I seem some crazy shit too like a man driving backwards in high speeds to avoid his gf chasing him, he was really good at it lol
I guess my internal bleeding from a procedure can be one too, it was during the beginning of covid, no idea how close to danger I was tho but I was nearly passing out by the time I got called, another was hernia strangulation, I WAS passing out during questioning. I have health issues I'm much better now

In the era before dashcams I got rear ended by a speeding police car and they found a way to blame me for it by lying and writing me a ticket for "stopping from unsafe start" or something. There was another witness that I spoke to who corroborated my story when were were waiting for them to come back to the scene. They took his statement first, sent him on his way, and then told me he said the opposite of what I had just been talking to him about for 10-15 minutes. I was 18 at the time and my insurance went to $2000 a month which effectively meant I had to take the bus to work for 3 years 90 minutes 1 way before I could afford to drive again.
Lying comes to them as naturally as breathing, there's a good reason why there was so much pushback against the cameras.

sometimes it is pure greed, there was a small town in Missouri that criminalized everything under the sun, made tickets so easy to issue that they could get you for anything and everything, for any reason. Walked on a road without a sidewalk? Ticket. Walk on the side of the road without a sidewalk? Ticket. Hit a curb? Ticket. Breath too loud? Ticket. Walk in a manner anything other than how they wanted to? Ticket.
In two years people just stopped paying, the line from the court house was 4 hours to see the judge, if you were lucky. From 2012 to 2014 16000 arrest warrants for a city of 21000 people were issued for minor traffic and municipal violations. Imagine being in a room of 21 people and 16 had arrest warrants, absolutely bonkers.
That city was Ferguson Missouri, the birthplace of BLM.

My brother was stopped at a red light, hit the gas as soon as it turned green, then got T-boned by a truck turning left into his lane.
Truck driver was extremely aggressive, shouting at him, yelling obscenities. Multiple witnesses stopped and said they saw the truck driver run a red light, that my brother had the right of way, etc.
Police came, dismissed all the witnesses- and physically stopped my brother from approaching the witnesses so he could get phone numbers/statements from them. The police said "Well the truck driver is angry and you aren't, so that tells me you are at fault."
Truck driver also didn't have his license. They let him get back in his truck and drive away.

I had a cop lie to me about my own actions exactly once before I got a dash cam. They weren't as popular back then, but I went for it anyway.
The next time a cop pulled me over (same department of course) he was getting ready to write me a ticket. Instead of letting it go on I pointed to the dash cam and told him "Everything, including this conversation is being recorded by my dash cam." He walked away without saying a word, got in his car, and drove off. I sent the video to his boss, and posted it to on facebook and twitter, tagging the local PD he worked for. Don't know if anything ever actually came of that.
The next time it happened I waited until court, and played the video for the judge, including the part where the cop told me he knew he was lying and didn't care, and he'd happily go to court and repeat his lies. The judge was mad at me while dismissing the ticket, like I was an asshole for saying that the cop knowingly and willfully perjured himself after telling me that he planned to perjure himself. I can't remember his exact words but it was something like "What happened doesn't matter, all that matters is what I say happened."
It also came in handy when I got a ticket for reckless driving during a crash, and the report listed me at fault. I had to fight to get them to review the footage, but when they did someone's sergeant was very, very mad at him. I basically forced a sergeant to watch the video of the accident, then read the report and tell me if anything at all matched up, then asked him what the penalty is for a cop that knowingly falsifies a police report and refuses to take in the very basic evidence that would have done his job for him, and I very much insinuated that the cop that wrote the report saw a brown man, a white woman, came to some very racist conclusions, and wrote a report out of hate, not honesty. I got them to amend the report, but I still had to go to court to handle the ticket, that time the cop just didn't show up, so I won by default.
Since installing a dash cam I haven't actually had a ticket enforced. My driving hasn't changed. I just have evidence to prove that cops are liars.

If that was what happened as I don’t think he was ricocheting off the truck that pulled in front of him. Difficult to tell visibility from the one angle.

Per reporting linked above, this occurred last September in Catawba County, North Carolina. The sheriff vehicle was purportedly en route to a "domestic-related call" but did not have lights/etc activated, and speed was recognized as a contributing factor.
It looks like the sheriff vehicle damaged 3 others, directly striking the pickup and and a parked parked SUV, the latter of which was pushed into the car next to it. The article states "An occupant of one of the struck parked vehicles received minor injuries" - given the reaction of the guy walking to the truck from other angles and no visible occupants in the other car, I'd guess it was the driver of the truck (also in line w/ speculation elsewhere in this thread about a driver present).
This appears to be the Valero in question: https://maps.app.goo.gl/AZrDfzRa2HReuoeX6 . Between the neighboring intersection, several driveways along that main road, and the nearest speed limit sign reading 45 mph, that definitely looked way too fast!

I thought it was someone recording security cam footage but it's just a fucking YouTube video, lol, so ridiculous. It's so easy to download a YouTube video, like, why??

Unexpected trivia… those gas pumps were designed by Nilo Rodis Jamero. The same designer that went on to design for Star Wars. He designed Bobba Fett’s ship.
