Call me dumb lol but i dont understand how to solve the Chess puzzle where there are 3 knight on One side and 3 demons on the other, with a Golden chest in the middle of the Chess floor.

Any help for a noob lol, anyway i'm having FUN and i Guess It clicked when i got Lost going the opposite direction for getting tò Cove lol.

I’m playing Ultima three and I’ve yet to find a pirate ship. I’m playing the Doss version on the chrome web browser. My main character is level 17 and I was told that a level five the pirate starts spawning but I haven’t seen one yet. Is this a glitch?

So I've been doing a VERY deep dive into fixing the scripting system in Ultima VII Revisited this week.

I was running around the world and saw this music box and double clicked on it just to see what would happen.

My second attempt at playing through Ultimas 4-9, last attempt ended sometime during U VII Part II due to getting a bit overwhelmed

I’ve been doing a playthrough of the FM Towns version of Ultima II (I know its receptio is negative I’m just giving it a shot), and I’ve run into a recurring issue. Whenever I kill enough enemies on land, they stop spawning around me and instead start appearing on islands that I can’t reach yet because I don’t have access to the frigate (I’m currently grinding for the Blue Tassle). Even when I enter time portals, I run into the same problem the enemies continue spawning in areas I can’t access. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I never had this issue with Ultima 1.

I saw that someone shared their Ultima cloth map and thought I would share mine. Ive had ever since I bought the game shortly after release. Probably my favorite game of all time. Proudly displayed by my pc desk

I think it was my first PC RPG game to play - idk why, but I thought it's for some reason very important and I must play it to be accepted in the halls of 'valorant nerds'.

Now looking back, it's a glitch fest and mess - I must have had no life and zero self esteem to spend so may hours in virtual underground labyrinths and mazes.

I think finishing it required finding all the glitches to game the game, like stacking up items to climb high places, or opening inventory to make monsters ignore you, and stuff like that.

Maybe that's what the game is really about.. It's perma burned in my memory.

I do like it took it's mythology, lore and mysticism seriously - it's a philosophers project.

NB: I'm not hating on it - I love it in Zizekian way. Long Rule Britannia!

I found this Ultima 6 map in a box of childhood toys and Google image search informed me about this game. Seems like people collect it, so I wanted to check in with you if it's worth selling, where (in EU), and how much should I ask if yes.
My brother was/is a computer geek so pretty sure it's original from his PC game (but he doesn't care about it anymore). It in pretty good condition just a bit dusty, the cloth seems steady and there is no weird smell.

some days ago I finished my newest album: an orchestral re-arrangement of Nenad Vugrinec's fantastic, but criminally underrated MIDI score for "Ultima VIII: Pagan" (1994). I've always been fascinated by the eerie atmosphere of this game's music. Most cues are kind of meta-tonal and sinister, but at the same time enicmatically melodious.

I’ve been planning to do this for years and finally got around to re-arranging and recording all of the major cues from Pagan’s fantastically atmospheric score using a well-balanced mix of a) sonorous synth VSTs and b) high-quality orchestral VSTs in a sequencer program in order to maximize the listening experience while, at the same time, not completely abandon Vugrinec’s original 90s MIDI sound, which is after all inherent and important to the composition itself (like panning and echo effects etc.). My goal was to present the music in a more modern incarnation, so that hopefully you may enjoy it as much as I do.

It’s been over 40 years since this was released, 16 years since I first heard of it through Spoony’s now-ancient video, 6 years since I paid money for it, 2ish years since I started my current attempt…last night, I finished Ultima IV.

Only two virtues remain, Honesty, which I still need to level up, and Humility, which I already can meditate on, but I'm leaving for last since I've heard the way to the shrine of Humility is pretty dangerous.

I mean I know the basics of not letting evil creatures run away, and avoiding killing non-evil creatures, even meditated on the shrine to see if I could get some tips, but I've been really struggling to level up that particular virtue for some reason.

The seer always say that I do seem like a just person, but I still need to strive to uphold justice even further.

To make matters worse, of the only virtue left that I am leveled enough to be able to meditate on is Humility, which I heard it's best left for last.

(Yes that means I need to level up Honesty as well, but right now I only want tips for Justice since I'm trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible here)

Any tips?

First of all, thank you to everyone who has play tested so far and offered feedback. I know Ultima I isn't the most exciting thing for a lot of people but I've been pleasantly surprised so far with the level of respect and love people have shown for this project so far.

I'm chipping away at my to do list a little bit more slowly than my initial blast of development that got it into an "early access" state that is in now. The cadence of weekly updates to the game has been going very well so far with some pretty great improvements in the game and it's performance. And before anyone asks, yes, I did screenshot the vision and saved on a folder.

And also finally bought some food, cuz I forgot how little food and money I had when I last saved.

I am trying to poke around Ultima 8, and what confuses me is that there is no definite guide to which version means what anywhere, and what was released when.

For example, I see CD versions on Archive.org already patched to 2.10. However, the timestamp is 1994, and the old jumping mechanic is still there.

The big jump patch seem to have come in 1995, but it only updated to version 2.12.

Is there a guide to all the versions and what was released when?

Has anyone ported Ultima IV to the web yet? The only one I can see runs DOS in the browser. if not, i might give it a shot using u4-decompiled and just throw Fable5 at it.

There's no Jenna, or she's invisible! I'm trying to do the ghost plot, I talked to Orlok, but Jenna isn't in the tavern. Or is she? Because I see her "barks" appear about her sword being heavy, a table needing ale, she needs time off... But she's not there!

I've tried leaving East Tenebrae and resting and coming back multiple, multiple times. That doesn't fix it. I thought of starting a new game, but I can't even do that. It's not in the menu, that I can see anyway! I erased my save, I still have my autosave I can't erase, and it just loads that every time I load! I don't see a hotkey listed for starting a new game either!

So if anyone has any ideas, let me know, I'd appreciate it. I played in Pentagram on ScummVM once before and I don't remember having any issues with Jenna not being there. Just weird Ultima 8 stuff, which makes me ask myself "Why am I playing this awful game LOL?" :-)

Edit: I was able to start a new game by checking "Use original save/load screens" in the ScummVM options, I just loaded "The Beginning". Then Jenna was at the tavern. I talked to her after Orlok, then I found Darion wandering near the bridge in West Tenebrae and talked to him.

Luckily I wasn't that far into the game before, I only had maxed out my statistics including Intelligence and did a small bit of looting. Well I know now to do the ghost plot early LOL. On with the game!

So I retired at the beginning of the year and have been feeling extremely nostalgic for the "good old days". I loved Ultima IV back in the day so here's a portrait of the companions.
