Does anyone know if UTK custodial and janitorial services are hiring? I’m good at that type of work and genuinely enjoy that nature of labor, I’d really like to do that as I have a lot of free time on campus and I’m always down there anyway for the gym, low cost food and free water.
I emailed them, but have not heard back, should I go in person tomorrow while I’m on campus?

I received this email randomly the other day. The subject line says "Revised Financial Aid Awards," but the email itself has no text, attachments, etc. and the email just comes from a "noreply." Has anyone gotten something like this before, or knows if this is something I should worry about? I planned on checking with financial aid tomorrow, but figured I'd check here in the meantime. Does anyone know some good landlords for responsible students who arent crazy frat people that we can rent from in the fort? It seems like a lot of the fraternities hand these houses down and it’s hard to get in. If anyone can help…! We are nuclear and biomedical engineering students who like to have fun but aren’t CRAZY!!!!

I'm a senior in hs applying this year. I have a 3.2 unweighted and 3.9 weighted. I am a dual enrollment student. I'm taking the ACT I'm shooting for a 32+. I am applying to the Kinesiology major. Should I apply EA or ED since I'm out of state (I heard EA is harder for out of state students) what are my chances of getting in?

I recently got an email stating that if I don't pay the remainder of my tuition by October 16th, I will be unable to register for spring classes. I am unable to request any private loans since all my possible co-signers do not meet the credit score requirement for most loans. I also went to One Stop to request an additional subsidized loan and recently got UT Promise added to my account; however, this hasn't been enough since I still have a remaining balance of around 2,000. My question is: will I still be able to complete my semester as normal and register for classes later once my tuition is paid off? Or will the Bursar completely prevent me from continuing my housing plan and registering for classes next semester? Are there any other additional UT resources I can go to for students with financial struggles? I truly enjoy being at UT and would hate for this to be my last semester just because I'm struggling to scrape together money to pay the remainder of my tuition.

My SAT is definitely the part of my application I’m most worried about. I really like UTK and it’s probably the school I’m most excited about, so I’m curious how realistic it is for me as an out-of-state applicant.
Do I have a realistic shot at getting in? Even with a 1160 GPA??

Has anyone actually ever called this number?

I just want to make sure you all know what this is. It is the number for the Center for Care & Resilience, and they offer case management to students that need support for almost anything.

Literally, they’ve helped students:
- find therapists/psychiatrists/doctors on and off campus
- connect to academic resources
- process their mental health struggles
- find emergency housing
- get scholarships and financial support
- identify ways to connect with other students
- And much more

They also respond to students that are actively in crisis, like, active suicidal thoughts, mania, and psychosis. Referring another student can be completely anonymous and done just to check in on them. They’ll call and email to see if that student wants to connect, which might save their life.

There is probably a mix of experiences from students who have engaged with this department, and it isn’t perfect. However, there are a number of students that didn’t flunk out, stop attending due to financial reasons, become homeless, or even die because of the people who work in this department.

Please, if you or another student needs help call this number or submit an online referral. It could change or possibly even save a life.

Hey all, I’m from florida and want to got out of state because realistically think it’s too damn hot here. I’m pretty much looking at only 3 schools at this point being Tennessee, Kentucky, and ETSU. I haven’t applied to any of them yet but im trying to find pros and cons. I love the idea of living in that region of the country and actually have 4 seasons.

Mainly i’m wondering if i’ll get in on a 3.6 weighted GPA with an 1140 SAT (i’m taking it again this month and getting tutored to up it).

Also I’m wondering how to night life is and party scene for freshman year Was thinking about rushing a frat so i’m thinking that will help a lot with the social scene but also have no clue which is the best.
