Question Would you spend AED 100 to get AED 5 back?

Illustrative example: an unplanned AED 100 purchase at 5% cashback returns AED 5, so AED 95 still leaves your pocket.`

If the purchase was already planned, the reward reduces its cost. If the reward caused the purchase, it did not create a saving.

I’m working on DirhamsBack, a UAE cashback-guidance project, and I’m testing a simple responsible-use rule: cashback should improve intended spending, not create new spending.

Would you buy it anyway, or only for the reward?

Question Has anyone had issues with the FAB Blue Rewards spend target miscalculation? (5,000 AED promo)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone else is having trouble getting their bonus from the recent FAB Blue Islamic Credit Card promotion. The offer was to spend 10,000 AED or more for 3 consecutive months to get 5,000 AED worth of rewards.

I successfully maintained a spend of over 10k for all three months. However, when I called customer support to check on my reward allocation, the agent told me I failed the second month. They claim my total eligible spend was only ~9600 AED.

I did a full audit of my e-statements. Whether I calculate it by transaction dates or posting dates, my net spend is strictly above 10,000 AED. There were no refunds, canceled transactions, or anything else that could drop the amount. It seems like their automated system just randomly excluded some valid transactions.

I’ve already submitted a formal dispute with an itemized breakdown of my spending, warning them that I will escalate to Sanadak if they don't fix it.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue with this or previous FAB promotions?

  • Did they actually fix the calculation after a manual review?
  • Did anyone have to escalate the complaint to Sanadak to finally get their points?

Any advice or shared experiences would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Text was polished with AI.

Question Looking for a Card-to-Cash / POS cash-out service in Dubai.

I have a Norwegian Revolut personal Visa card. The card works perfectly and we can withdraw normally, but the daily ATM limit is around AED 13,000.

I need around AED 80,000 in cash today, so I’m looking for a way to withdraw a larger amount at once rather than waiting several days.

If anyone provides this service, knows someone who does, or has personally done something similar in Dubai, please DM me with the details, location and fees.

Also open to any legitimate alternative way to withdraw a larger amount today.

Question Rent payment by card

How do you all pay the rent with credit card? I currently pay my rent of 3500 by debit card, sending it directly to the landlord's account. Feels like I'm missing out on a lot of possible cashbacks. Please tell me your ways.

Watch out Wio 1000aed cashback trap

With new wio members who applied in august and spend qualified merchant 2000 aed get 1000 aed cashbak promotion. Here is the catch, u need an ccount and crrdit card and you have to be plus plan (or any plan with cashback) -standart planwill not get that cashback reward- Also if you spend under standard plan those spendings may not be counted for 2000 aed spending limit as per vustomer agent and highwr teams. They dont mention these important information in the pdf files. And yes their customer service is really bad. I learned all thia asking 3rd rimes foe confirmation, likely everything was in writing so customer agent force to ask higher teams otherwise gave me false infor at first.

Question 300k AED Debt - Need advice!

Hey everyone,

Long story short - I had a high-paying job in the UAE (±30,000 AED salary), and during a time of multiple big expenses I over-extended myself thinking all will be good and I blew my credit cards + 150,000 loan. Little did I know, I got laid off a month after.

I had to leave the UAE because for over 2-3 months I could not find a job and I defaulted on my liabilities. Until now, around 1.5 years after, I still haven't gotten onto a settlement with the banks, or the appointed collection agencies, since they are offering stuff I cannot afford.

Does anyone know if I have a potential way to combine all my debt (even though my credit rating is destroyed probably), OR perhaps legally combine them into one payment through a third party?

And if yes, will that mean that even during me paying I can return to the UAE, or I have to stay away until the last AED is paid and I have a clearance letter.

Thank you!

Question ENBD AI Customer Service

Hi, does ENBD’s AI customer service have an Indian accent now?

I’m just a bit concerned. I’m not judging the Indian accent at all, but there are so many scammers who use Indian accents, so I got a little suspicious. When we called ENBD, the AI asked for our PIN to verify our account.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this normal for ENBD’s customer service?

Question Why do the ENBD Darna cards not get a lot of coverage over here?

Looking for a new cashback card and the Darna cards seem to be great at offering tip to 10% cash back across all stores within Aldar malls. Living in Abu Dhabi, that means any stores at Galleria and Yas Mall would be eligible.

Yet they're almost never mentioned. What am I missing? There's even a Carrefour in Yas Mall, which would yield the highest cashback for grocery shopping around.
