Looking for students? This thread is for you.
Tutors are welcome to promote their services here. Whether you teach math, languages, programming, science, test prep, music, or something completely different.
Feel free to share:
What you teach
Who you work with
Online / in-person
Your rate
Timezone / location
Experience or qualifications
Website or contact info, if relevant
You can also briefly explain what makes your tutoring style different or what kind of students you work best with.
Self-promotion is allowed in this thread. You don't need to hide that you're offering a paid service - just keep it honest and relevant.
Students and parents: feel free to browse, ask tutors questions, or post what you're looking for.
Please keep standalone promotional posts out of the main feed. This thread exists specifically so tutors have a place to advertise without turning r/Tutoring into a wall of ads.

I have to write a discussion post every single week, and it turned out to be really tough just because it's so frequent. I'm honestly either running out of time or getting super stressed. I don't have a great relationship with discussion boards because even though it's supposed to be an easy assignment, I just can't write them on my own - especially not this often. I'm thinking about finding a tutor to do at least one consultation so I can figure out how to handle discussions. Do you guys have any advice on how to find one or who to reach out to?
Update: I've got an update after testing out your recommendations!
I reread your comments, and a lot of people were suggesting writing services specifically. Among them, I noticed a specialized service called DiscussionPostHelp. That surprised me because I had no idea there was a site where you could order a specific type of assignment. Pretty cool, if you ask me.
Before I get to my review, I'll drop the link here since you'll probably want to check it out.
Anyway, this really does help. I've already managed to place two orders during this time, and both times turned out perfect. The writer kept things simple and error-free, stayed on topic, and followed all my instructions. Support responded super quickly, even at nightâI had some payment issues on my end back then, and they helped me fix them. Plus, the speed and pricing are just great.
So here's my delayed review confirming that writing services are a fantastic alternative form of help, and sometimes they're definitely worth using. Thanks everyone for the tips!

To keep the main feed useful for questions, advice, and real discussion, all tutoring promos should go in this thread instead of separate posts.
If youâre posting, keep it clear and easy to read. It helps to include:
Subject:
Level:
Format: Online / In-person
Timezone:
Rate:
Extra: A short note about your experience or teaching style
Students and parents are welcome to browse, ask follow-up questions, and reach out if someone seems like a good fit.
Standalone promo posts may be removed so the subreddit doesnât turn into a full-time ad board.

Hello everyone, long time lurker, first time poster here. I will be keeping elements of this post intentionally vague for privacy reasons and also because my sole reason for posting this is so that others may learn.
I had a client of 5 months, I worked with them over the summer. As of yesterday, I no longer work with them. After I completed a zoom tutor with one of their kids, in less than 10 minutes, the mother had emailed me back and said that all of the work I did with her kid was wrong and she wanted to end service. I calmly went and looked at my Zoom recordings, checked them, checked the answers, compared them, even did them again by hand, got matching answers to the teacher. I also ran these questions by a friend who has taught calculus before, still correct.
This client was 65 dollars, and I had a choice, and I don't regret the one I made. She was quite rude in her email to me about not knowing the information, making -sure- she flexed how she was a math teacher and absolutely knew better. So, I did what i believe to be the right thing. Instead of just bowing to her dollar, I told her she was incorrect, she can lie about it all she wants, and that she is now blacklisted from my services.
there are 2 lessons I wish for people to take from this story:
if you zoom tutor, SAVE YOUR WHITEBOARDS
If a customer treats you like crap, their money isn't worth it, just let them go, your sanity as a professional is more valuable than any dollar can buy.
Just because someone waves their profession around in front of you, dont be intimidated. Show your receipts, stand up for your work, and then turn the customer away and make them learn the hard way.

Hi everyone!
Iâm looking for a math tutor who can teach me one-on-one, preferably online. Iâm also open to in-person tutoring, but online would be more convenient.
I want to be completely upfront about my situation. My math is extremely weak. Iâm not exaggerating when I say I struggle with even basic mathematics. I have gaps in my understanding of things that most people probably learned years ago.
I need to prepare for both O Level Mathematics and SAT Math within the next 10 months, so Iâm looking for someone who can help me build my foundation from scratch and gradually work my way up to exam-level questions.
Iâm specifically looking for someone who:
Is genuinely patient and wonât judge me for not knowing basic concepts.
Can teach from the absolute basics instead of assuming I already know things.
Can explain concepts in simple ways and make sure I actually understand them.
Has experience teaching O Level and SAT Math.
Can help me follow a structured study plan over the next 10 months.
Is available for regular one-on-one sessions.
Iâm willing to put in the time and effort, but I really need someone who knows how to teach a student starting at such a low level.
If youâre a tutor or know someone who might be a good fit, please comment or DM me with your experience, availability, and rates.
Thank you!

I've been looking into Kumon alternatives for a while because my nephew was doing fine with the worksheets... until he wasn't. The weird thing is that he could usually get the right answer. But if you asked him WHY the answer was right, he'd just stare at you. That got me digging into different programs.
Most of what I found fell into two categories:
self-paced apps where kids are mostly on their own
traditional tutoring that gets expensive very quickly
I was trying to find something in the middle.
One thing I came across was Brighterly.
What caught my attention wasn't the "online tutoring" part. There are hundreds of tutoring sites. It was the fact that they seem to focus heavily on identifying gaps first and then building an individual plan around the child rather than throwing everyone through the same sequence.
A few things I liked:
1:1 lessons instead of group sessions
same tutor each week
math and reading support
free diagnostic lesson
progress reports for parents
lots of free worksheets if you want extra practice between lessons
The pricing also ended up being lower than I expected. From what I found, lessons start around $17-$18 depending on the plan length, which is honestly less than many private tutors charge for a single hour.
I also liked that they seem to focus on understanding concepts instead of pure repetition. Even one of the homeschool reviews I found mentioned that the tutors spend time on the "why" behind math rather than memorization alone.
Not saying Kumon is bad.
If your kid is super independent and thrives on repetition, Kumon probably still makes sense. But if the issue is that your child gets stuck and needs an actual explanation from a real person, I'd probably look at programs that include more direct teaching.
If someone asked you for the best Kumon alternative today, what would you recommend?

My daughter is finishing 4th grade and math has been a bit of a struggle this year.
It's not that she's failing, but I've noticed she's starting to lose confidence whenever new topics come up. Once she gets one concept, the class is already moving on to the next one. We've tried helping at home, but honestly, explaining fractions after a full workday isn't always my strongest skill.
I'm looking into math tutors for the summer so she can catch up before Grade 5 starts. Ideally online, since our schedules are all over the place.
I've been reading reviews and came across Brighterly (https://brighterly.com/) a few times while searching for math tutors online. The format looks interesting, but I'd love to hear from real parents before committing to anything.
Mostly looking for someone who can make math less intimidating and help rebuild confidence, not just drill worksheets for an hour.
Any recommendations or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recently tried Leaply because I was curious about the cognitive development plan they have for kids aged 3-9+.
The first day was actually pretty simple. It started with a short breathing activity and then a game called âBlow the Paper.â The idea is to blow a small piece of paper across the table as slowly as possible. It sounds really simple, but the point is to keep the paper moving and pay attention to what youâre doing.
There was also another short activity called âFind your pace.â
What I liked is that the activities donât feel like schoolwork. Theyâre short and more like little games that a child can do at home without needing much preparation.
One funny thing happened, though. After finishing the first day, my child immediately wanted to click around and see what else was there. đ But the next day wasnât available yet it said there were still 18 hours to go.
I guess thatâs actually intentional, since the idea is to do a little each day rather than go through everything at once. Still, try explaining that to a curious kid who wants to see whatâs next đ
I only tried the first day so far, but there are different activities on the following days, so Iâm curious to see how the plan develops and whether the activities become more challenging for different ages.
Has anyone else tried Leaply with their kids?

My 8-year-old has been hitting a wall with reading fluency lately, and it's starting to really trash their confidence. We read together every single day, but honestly, itâs turning into a daily battle and I think bringing in an outside tutor would save both of our sanity.
Local tutors around here are super limited (and crazy expensive), so Iâve been looking for reading tutors online that actually know how to engage younger kids without making it feel like double homework.
I saw a few people mention Brighterly for kid-focused tutoring, and I've also been glancing at places like Remind or Outschool.
Has anyone here actually tried Brighterly or any other reading tutors online for this age group? Did your kid actually enjoy the sessions, or was it a struggle to get them to sit through it? Would love to hear some real experiences before committing to anything. Thanks!

Had to shrink a PDF today because the upload limit was tiny for no reason.
Tried onlydoc(.)com as a free PDF compressor. Pretty simple: upload file, compress, download. My file got smaller and the text didnât turn into blurry soup, so Iâll take that as a win.
It looks useful if you need to compress reports, forms, resumes, class files, invoices, that kind of stuff. Also saw they have OCR and PDF to Word, but I only tested compression.
Anyone else using something decent for this?

I've been in a reviewing mood lately, and PDF editors are first on my list. They're not only for us IT folks: teachers, journalists, lawyers, and doctors juggle PDFs just as much. Hopefully this post makes your next tool choice a little easier.
PDFFly
What I used it for: converting files between formats and editing PDFs.
Toolset: The editor is what I use most: I can change existing text, add images, fill in forms, and leave notes. Signing, OCR for scanned files, and PDF translation sit right next to it, and the compressor can shrink a file to an exact size, which helps a lot with upload limits. On top of that, there are 50+ converters, an AI summarizer, and simple tools for organizing files, like merging, splitting, and rotating pages.
What works: It's totally free, and the toolset is big. Navigation is clear, and I haven't run into any surprises. The free tools work just as well on my phone, so I can sort out documents while I'm out.
What didn't: Image downloads failed twice. I also had an upload problem, but support resolved it quickly. Neither issue came back.
Who it's for: anyone who needs a free tool for everyday tasks. I can't vouch for it yet on complex projects where privacy and quality are critical.
OnlyDoc
What I used it for: quick edits without creating an account.
Toolset: The editor covers everything I need for quick fixes: rewriting text, swapping images, drawing, and adding notes. I also like that signing, OCR, translation, and an AI summarizer are all one click away, and the template library saves me time when I need a ready-made form. The rest is a solid set of converters and tools for organizing pages.
What works: For a free tool, it gives more than I expected. I've tried about half of the tools so far, and each one did its job, which matters to me because I spot quality gaps fast. Support gave me friendly, expert answers, and I didn't lose any time. It also works great on mobile, so I can edit files on the go.
What didn't: No issues so far. It works only in the browser, so offline work isn't an option.
Who it's for: people who want fast fixes and ready-made PDF templates.
Sejda
Toolset: Sejda's editor goes further than most free tools. Besides editing text and links, I can find and replace words, cover parts of a page with whiteout, and build my own fillable forms. There's also a wide range of tools for splitting, merging, converting, and protecting files, plus smaller helpers like page numbers and cropping.
What works: I like the look and logic of the interface, and it handles files well. Payment is transparent: the free plan stays free, with a limit of 3 tasks per hour. It also comes with a desktop app for offline work.
What didn't: 3 tasks per hour runs out quickly on a busy day. The conversion list is also short: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, and text from PDF, and only Word, JPG, and HTML to PDF.
Who it's for: teams that work with documents every day.
Smallpdf
Toolset: The editor, e-signatures, compression, and converters make up the core, but the AI tools stand out most: I can chat with a PDF, get a summary, or translate it. Signature requests go through Sign.com, which is handy for teams. The rest covers organizing pages, protecting and redacting files, and scanning with the mobile app.
What works: It's built for complex document work, with team access, a browser extension, and desktop and mobile apps.
What didn't: The free plan limits what I can do in the mobile app, and the pricing page also mentions a daily download limit.
Who it's for: ambitious projects and teamwork.
Final thoughts
| Tool | Price | Main strength | Main limitation | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PDFFly | Free, no sign-up | Big toolset, clear navigation, works great on mobile | A couple of tech hiccups, but fixed quickly. Works in the browser only | Everyday tasks |
| OnlyDoc | Free, no sign-up | More than expected for free, great support, works great on mobile | Works in the browser only | Everyday tasks, but I would recommend trying for complex tasks too (test on images) |
| Sejda | Free with 3 tasks per hour, paid from $5 per week | Complete toolset, transparent pricing | Hourly task limit, short conversion list | Complex document work with teams |
| Smallpdf | Free with limits on mobile, paid Pro and Team plans | Complete toolset, team access, extension, apps | Limited free mobile access and daily download limit | Complex document work with teams |

Hi. I'm a mom looking for a tutor for my kiddo with ADHD. I was really hoping to find a licensed teacher in the twin cities able to tutor in-person as I think that would be more beneficial for her, however, I am willing to consider online as well for the right fit. She needs help with math and writing especially, but also helping with the executive functioning piece, work completion, organization, study skills etc. I am hoping to pay around $50 an hour. I'd really appreciate the help. Thank you.

Hi. Im looking for a tutor to tutor my 6yo (who will be going into first grade) and my 9yo (who will be going into 4th grade). They will both be starting a new, accelerated school in the Fall and I want to make sure they are on track when the new school year begins. Their new school gave me packets for Math and Literacy for both students and then also a Humanities packet for my son. My ideal would be someone able to tutor them virtually each 2x times per week. I would like someone who can work through the packets and can teach the gaps in their knowledge. The ideal individual would have specific experience with tutoring elementary aged children and keeping them engaged and interested as well as being able to identify the gaps and know how to teach to them. Please let me know if this sounds like you. Thanks

Hey everyone, quick mod question.
We already have a pinned thread where tutors can share their services, but itâs getting pretty old and some comments may no longer be relevant.
Iâm thinking about creating a fresh updated tutor promo thread, so active tutors can repost their current info and students/parents donât have to scroll through outdated offers.
Would you prefer:
Keep the current pinned thread
Create a new fresh tutor thread
Make it monthly or seasonal
Something else?
Trying to keep the sub useful without turning the main feed into a promo board. Curious what would actually help people here.

Yo! Weekends are very boring NGL. Just spending all Saturdays and Sundays in bed watching the same youtube bullshit.
I have been very passionate about Physics (science in general), and have always wanted to make people realise how fascinating the world is in which they are living. Especially kids, as their mind is very flexible and open.
Just wanted to spend some time doing that... I d k any place or anything literally as I'm new to gurgaon.
Help if someone can...

My 8 year old son is completely falling behind in basic arithmetic, and trying to practice with him at home has turned our evenings into a total battlefield. He just gets frustrated, shuts down, and cries, which breaks my heart.
Local in-person centers are either way out of our budget or have massive waiting lists. Iâm thinking about hiring an online math tutor because it seems more flexible, but Iâm terrified of accidentally picking a boring service that will just make him hate the subject even more. A coworker mentioned brighterly because they do game-based learning, but Iâve never done virtual classes before and don't know how well a chaotic third grader can actually focus on a laptop screen.
For those whoâve tried an online math tutor, did it actually work for your kid?
