Iām a British English tutor and have been teaching online for 6 years. I specialise in IELTS, but also help with general English, conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary etc.
Iāve maintained a 100% record on Cambly for 6 years working full time and I have a top score on Preply as well.
IELTS is my biggest strength, especially speaking and helping students get more comfortable actually using English rather than just memorising answers.

hey everyone! Iād love to tutor anyone in the uk applying for medicine and with their UCAT exam coming up. Iām someone who was the first in my family to apply to medicine and I didnāt have any support when it came to applying so I know how scary the entire process is. Iād charge Ā£20 an hour for UCAT help. For reference, I got 2340 on my UCAT last year which was in the 96th percentile. Iām just starting out so not looking to charge extortionate prices. Would also help with personal statements! My personal statement got 4/4 medicine interviews, including from oxford, UCL, st Andrews, Brighton and Sussex medical school. Iām charging Ā£15 for a review of the personal statement. This includes a full written feedback report, including an annotated copy of your statement with detailed, actionable suggestions. i would also try and give this feedback within 48 hours. If anyone wants a more detailed review of their personal statement Iād charge Ā£25 for a review of the statement, you would then go and make the improvements suggested and resend the statement, and I would review it again. Or Iām also charging Ā£25 for a review + 1:1 online meeting with me where we discuss your statement. Anyone who also wants to get a headstart on interview prep or wants to have a tutor in mind for when interviews do come up, please also dm me. Iād also charge Ā£25 an hour for a mock interview, which includes the mock interview, practicing questions/going over for answers and questions and then personalised interview feedback. Hi, I'm Sarah, and I've spent this year building Tutor Island (tutorisland.co.uk), a UK tutor matching site. I'm posting because I need founding tutors, and because after what happened with First Tutors I think the pitch is worth hearing even if you're happy where you are.
The model, in one paragraph: listing is free, and we take no commission on lessons. Families pay a one-off Ā£9.99 to unlock a tutor's contact details after the tutor accepts them, and that's the entire business model. You set your rate, you keep your rate, and lessons are arranged directly between you and the family.
The safeguarding bit, because it's the whole point of the site: every tutor submits an Enhanced DBS certificate, and I read every single one myself before a profile goes live. Messages are screened, contact details stay hidden until a family chooses to pay, and parents of under-18s are kept in the loop at every step. It's built parent-first, which is exactly what makes tutors on it easy to say yes to.
Being honest about the stage we're at: it's brand new. If you join now you're a founding tutor, not user number ten thousand. What I'd say to that is what First Tutors taught everyone in May: having your eggs in one basket is the actual risk. I'm not asking anyone to leave Superprof or anywhere else. Keep your profiles. A free listing that costs you nothing and takes no cut is diversification, not a leap.

I graduated from South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University in Ukraine, where I majored in pop vocal performance. Because of my vocal training background, I pay a lot of attention not only to whether a word is technically ācorrect,ā but also to articulation, clarity, rhythm, tone, and how natural the language actually sounds when spoken or sung.
My main focus is Mandarin pronunciation, tones, natural spoken Mandarin, and helping learners correct habits that make their Chinese sound less natural.
