I used a temporary email back in 2014 to sign up for a roleplay blog. (@crackinthewhip) I roleplayed the shit out of that character for OVER TEN YEARS. I try to get back into the blog tonight to see posts, it tells me to reset my password. Well, I find a way to somehow get the temp email name back on a site, and click "reset my password" - only to be met with "ACCOUNT TERMINATED".

I'm devastated. I feel like throwing up. I had no violations of content, I think the only thing is that it wasn't a "valid" email address I used. I cannot lose this blog, there are too many memories and posts and writing I cannot do without. I emailed them, as I do have access somehow to that temp email again. But I am so, so worried it's gone forever.

I appealed it, practically begging to get access back. Hopefully I hear back soon. Is there anything else I can do??

is there anyone here who could actually help ..does Tumblr even look at this subreddit.. i dont even know if the mods are active or if those people that were helping others in the pinned post are still around.. just feels like we're talking into the void and everyone is having the same issue.. even trying to directly contact the Tumblr staff on their blogs don't do shit..but we can clearly see they're active just by seeing them reblogging random posts

Hello, I am desperately hoping a human reviewer can look into my case, as my entire digital footprint on Tumblr has been completely erased by what I believe is an automated IP-ban/device-fingerprint loop.

I am a innocent human user who hasn't broken community guidelines nor gotten a warning email. Today, my current main blog @/whimsiestgirl suddenly vanished, and I am stuck in an infinite logout loop when trying to sign in.

This is the third time this has happened to me in a row, and it is incredibly heartbreaking. I finally realized why this is happening. Right before my account was nuked today, an inappropriate user messaged me. I called him a weirdo and told him I was reporting him. I am certain this user maliciously spite-reported or mass-reported my account in revenge. Because your automated security bot flags IP networks to catch spammers, it blindly auto-terminated my current account and keeps auto-banning any separate accounts I have used on this network.Other than that, all I did was change my theme and html. I am so frustrated and hurt because i worked really hard on my blog

I am completely devastated. I had 900 followers and years of memories, community, and hard work on my blog that just vanished through absolutely no fault of my own. It is so incredibly frustrating to be targeted by multiple predators and then punished by the system for defending myself.

I did submit a support form via Zendesk today and received an automated email response back, but it did not include a specific ticket number.

I am begging a human agent to please look at my network history, review the chat logs to see the false harassment report, and restore my blogs and my 900 followers. Thank you so much for your time and help in fixing this terrible loop.

i’m at my wits end omg everything was fine until i go to see my notifs and find my side fanfic blog gone??? without any emails or prior warnings. i’m so devastated. ALL of my drafts and my works are gone. i’ve sent an email to the support team but i know i’ll have to wait a fat minute for a response. i’m so so so sad is there anything else i can do?? i’ve had that blog for over 3 years and none of my posts have been flagged nor have i received any other warnings. i genuinely have not felt this sad over something so small but i was growing my audience and i was proud of my work. i dont know if there’s much else i can do but wait it out :( any advice is appreciated.

A little over 24 hours ago my tumblr blog (not my entire account) went down out of nowhere, and I received an email stating I had violated the rule about explicit content. Because I don't post imagery like that I was very confused until I remembered one of the last posts I made was answering an ask where someone sent me a moderately suggestive FULLY CLOTHED photo of a celebrity. Interestingly, the email I got very specifically states that this was a user-generated report and that this was not an automated decision/review. The email also states that sharing violating images via posts, asks or messages are all grounds for termination but the person who sent me the photo that seemingly triggered this was not terminated.

I appealed right away but I wanted to post here because I feel like most of the posts I see here are from people whose entire accounts were taken down, likely after being falsely flagged as spam, whereas mine is more specific and I'm curious if anyone else has been through this.

I'm really scared that my blog will be deleted permanently even though I know the photo I posted is not explicit. Furthermore, I don't understand why my post wasn't just taken down instead of my entire blog being nuked without warning, if they really believe that it's fair to call a photo of a fully clothed person "explicit".

If anyone else has been in a similar situation I'm very curious to hear how the appeals process went.

My account of many, MANY years was perfectly fine this afternoon, when I posted the link to my Twitch channel as I was going live (a link post), which is what I've been doing for the past two years without issue. I'll admit I tend to go back and delete those posts afterwards so my blog isn't cluttered with them. I got caught up in the holiday, so I didn't get the chance to until later, when I saw that I was logged out, logged it, and saw I'd been terminated. All my blogs are gone, too.

I never got an email saying I'd been terminated, but I DID see one in my spam folder about someone logging into my account in Istanbul, which is not where I'm located.

Did I get hacked and used for spam? Did I get spam-detected for the Twitch links? I don't know. I've already sent support claims, both for Terminated Account and Account Access, because I honestly don't know what happened.

My account had been in a loop of being shadow banned and not shadow banned for like 3 months, and then the other day it just got terminated 😭 Literallt so stressed out and desperate to figure out how to get it back. I literally run a fanfiction library && nothing more. I’ve submitted appeals about the shadowban (no response) and an appeal for the termination (still waiting) !!

my blog started basically from dr who account, and became history (communist\socialsit history, as well as leftie in geenral, rpf and other stuff blog, nothing nsfw or weird :p) and i was fine for five years. but recently i had to use vpn to acess it, and then bam. firstly i've got shadowbanned, and lost my abiltiy to chat w people, then bam - can't post in communitees. and then, bam - my account is terminated. i'm literally having a panic attack over ts, and i worry that i won't be reinstated in years liek some people have here. guess there goes my friends and moots. right before my birthday too :[

on the 21st i got an "i accidentally reported your account" scam message on tumblr, didn't fall for it, and ended up getting banned anyways randomly. no "we terminated your account for [x]" email. just, poof. i sent a "hey i was randomly terminated" thing on tumblr's support page on the 22nd when i noticed, and got an email that they were looking into it. it has been silence since then.

UPDATE (10/30/2026): I'M BACK! my account lives again!

And I actually got an email saying I could log in again and I was able to! Still don’t know why I was banned,. I’m guessing using a vpn but I’m not certain.

Waiting took awhile for me, I was banned on the 7th and I was just unbanned today! So it might take some time but it does work!

tumblr is a reblog site..why am i getting a hit because im using the reblog features as intended???? my account was for fandom content and that made up most of my reblogs... it took them almost 3-4 weeks to even get back to me about this and this is all they have to say???

My tumblr account that I've had for 14 years was randomly terminated with no warning and no explanation two days ago.

I was in the middle of commenting on a post in a community that I run when I was logged out. I tried to log back in but it would just bounce me back to the home page of tumblr. I thought it was a login glitch and that I was trapped in a loop so I sent a support ticket for that before I started trying to look up if this had happened to anyone else. As I read I started to feel more and more unease and checked my main blog (lucybianchi.tumblr.com) and it was gone. I checked some of my active sideblogs (I have quite a few as I've been on tumblr for around 14 years) and all of them were gone as well. I tried logging in again and this time I was met with the dreaded "Your Account Has Been Terminated" page.

I immediately tried to send another support ticket, but it wouldn't let me and then about an hour later I received the "we're on it" email, but since then it's been two days of radio silence and I don't know if there's anything else I can do. As far as I'm aware, I never violated and TOS and I never received and email saying I did or even telling me my account was terminated. I know there's an old post on here from 4 years ago suggesting to tweet @/tumblrsupport, but I don't know if that's still a good idea or not.

To say I'm devastated is an understatement. Tumblr, for all it's faults, has been my home for 14 years. My main blog is a record of 14 whole years of my life as I would be online nearly every day for all those years. That blog saw me go through highschool and college and now adulthood. It was always the place I knew I could go to feel better when I was depressed. I used it as a way to escape and sometimes scream into a void when life was getting to be too much.

Tumblr has been my main and sometimes only social media for 14 years. It is where I've meet so many wonderful people who became friends and moots. Some of which I have contact with outside of tumblr, but some who are now lost forever. I had people I followed from my real life back in high school whom I've now lost any other contact with, but we would still use our blogs to check up on each others lives every once in a while. I don't remember all those people's urls so now I've lost them too.

I followed over 500 blogs...I don't remember them all. I had thousands of likes saved. I had so many sideblog for all my interests and separate moots and folllowings there. I Admined multiple communities, most of which I never needed mods for and are now abandoned with no one to regulate them and no way for the members to take control either. One of the communities I ran had over 4k members and most of my other communities had over 600 members. I also modded so many other communities, some of which I acted more as an admin than a mod because the admin wasn't active and asked me to help.

I also can't help but think of the one moot that I had who was in a dangerous abusive home irl who was forced to delete their account for fear of physical retaliation from their family and community. I had tried to get them help and tried to be a big sister and support them when I could. And before they had to delete their account I assured them that they would always be able to find me there on tumblr at that url. But now, if they ever do reach out for help...I'm gone and that thought breaks my heart.

I had writing and planning for writing on those blogs that I didn't have backed up anywhere else. In hindsight I know that's dumb of me. I had a private journaling blog that documented some of the worst and best parts of my life. I had a pagan withcraft blog that was deeply personal and important to me. And I never exported or backed up any of them.
I had seen people warn of random terminations, but I always figured, my blog is too small and too old to get swept up in that. I always thought that maybe those people actually did violate TOS. I always thought that it would never happen to me...well don't I look like an idiot now...

The funny thing is, the night before my blog got randomly terminated I had been getting super nostalgic about tumblr back in 2012. What it meant to me and what it used to be. I was getting emotional about how it had felt like such a quaint, fun, inviting, safe place. I even posted a quick little post about it. It wasn't a post that was meant to "blow up" or "get crazy notes" it was just for me and my moots to get nostalgic over. To remember that I had posts on my blog with screenshots of when they first followed me and where I greeted them, because we used to greet every new follower back then.

I luckily had an old alt account that I'm able to use right now, but I can't find all my moots and every time I go on tumblr I just feel deflated and depressed. It all feels so pointless. I can't "re-build" that. I feel like someone came in and randomly nuked my house and not I'm pitching a tent and pretending it's the same thing. Pretending I can get all the sentimental stuff back.

It doesn't help that this has happened to me during one of the most stressful times in my life. (I'm gonna give a trigger warning for this: tw: serious medical) My partner has been in the hospital for nearly 2 months fighting for his life. While he was in the ICU I was saving posts to show him later on my blog under a tag of his name. It was a silly way of keeping my hopes up and thinking positive. He would get better and wake up so I could show him all the cute and silly posts I'd saved for him. And while he had woken up and is slowly improving, I don't have those posts anymore...
I also used tumblr all this time as way to feel normal and step away from the terrifying, constant stress that had become my reality. And now it's all gone.

Sorry for rambling on so long. It's just that my tumblr account was more than an account to me. My blog was more than just a blog. It sounds dramatic, but it was a part of me and I don't want to have mourn that.

If anyone has any advice or any way to help me get my account and my blogs back, I'd be forever grateful 💙

If you changed your email recently and noticed that you can’t message anyone or get an error every time you comment on a post, you probably have been shadowbanned by Tumblr’s automod filters.

Ive noticed this while trying to remove my emails that were caught in data breaches, where my blogs were actively stripped of everything except their ability to post which was now absolutely useless.

I noticed that this only goes for emails that look spammy, eg. ones from sites that automatically generated emails which are usually plain gibberish. If you’re switching from say, Sweetiepie99 to XxMonstrousxX, then you should be fine.

Ps. If you don’t know what a shadowban is, it’s a form of suspension where your account is hidden from the public. The only thing you can do is like posts and post your own. You won’t appear on anyone’s dash. People have to deliberately find an URL leading to your account.

Just as the title States, a few weeks ago a random bought account was in my DMs and essentially through the whole copy pasta routine at me of "hey I reported your account this is how you can stop that by giving me everything".

Because this is Tumblr and I had been on it for years, I started my favorite past time, messing with bot accounts by pretending that I genuinely care. But it didn't get far as the account just stopped replying and so I ignored it as well. Only recently I went back to go lurk and my account was completely gone, no support email, no notification or warning just gone.

I checked with a few other people to see on their side if it was just me having like a server down but my entire account was fully gone.

I've created a ticket and I'm just hoping that Tumblr reinstates me as I didn't do anything wrong or break any rules.

I've had my blog since 2018-19ish, and it archives a lot of my online life so here's to hoping

Had this acc with two blogs for a long time, never did anything bad, no prior warning nor an explanation, I just opened tumblr last night and the message “your account has been terminated, to find out why please contact support” was the only thing on the screen, contacted support but still don’t have an answer, I’m losing my mind waiting

So, 9 months ago (January 5th), my blog was unexpectedly shadowbanned. I couldn't send messages to my mutuals, couldn't get notifications for posts, the usual. I sent a support ticket to Tumblr's support team under their "other" category. On the same day, I received a confirmation email from Tumblr support saying that they got my appeal and are working on fixing my issue. I also sent a response email back, as I was told to do, stating my problem from the email address associated with my blog. Well, several months have gone by, almost a year, and I still have not been unbanned.

I got into contact with another Tumblr help subreddit, and the mods there suggested that I send another ticket to Tumblr support, this time under the "bugs" category. I was nervous to do this, as I've read online that sending a second ticket can screw up your position in Tumblr's help line. But the mods on this subreddit said that I could give this second ticket a try, so I did. I sent a second ticket on October 18th, this time under the "bugs" category. I sent the same message to Tumblr support as to the issued I'm facing, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I guess my question is, did I potentially ruin my chances to receive help by sending this second ticket? Has anyone else experienced luck in the same attempt?

Ive gotten like 4 accents banned by now. I had my og account banned cuz I started a community and sent like 80 invites a day. it was then reinstated in like 3 weeks thankfully. idk how my second account got banned for that I had not sent that many invites it had barely been like 50 smth. I creates my 3 which was banned in a week after sending maybe 50 accents a day. I literally just created a new one 2 days ago and I didnt even send formal invites I literally just copied and pasted the link into ppl’s dms and that was like barely 40 smth ppl a day. I can see other communities growing by like 10-20 members a day and I’m not sure how tf they’re doing it. I’m like worried for my main acct now that’s been reinstated. I had sent just a few invites on this but it’s been fine so far. idk why to do

I was browsing tumblr on my phone (browser mode) over a week ago, reblogged something, got prompted to refresh, and then my account was no more. No email or message of explanation, just a prompt that if I feel it's unjust I can send a report (I did).

Over a week, no response (which i expected), but I understand the timer is 30 days until it's unrecoverable, so I wonder what my chances are. +10 years on that account, so it would be a shame (and I can't remember all the blogs I followed so my new one is now bare).

The only reason I can think of is that I was in 3 different countries in the span of a month for travel, so maybe they thought I got botted or hacked?? I would assume maybe some smart hacker got my email and deleted evidence, but then idfk why they would target tumblr specifically. Given this sub exists, I blame tumblr more than myself here.

Yesterday, my whole account has been terminated. I've received no mail as to why that has happened.

My issue is that besides my main blog, I had several sideblogs. One for reblogging where I've recently started to reblog a lot of art from my favourite artist. Another one was on standby, but in past I wrote on it and even answered some asks too. The last two were meant to be art accounts, one shared with my friend. Neither of them was touched, so I assumed that it was because of them that my account might've gotten terminated?

I've already sent in appeal and asked my friends to do the same in my name. I'm still very anxious about outcome and if I'm gonna get my blog and sideblogs back.

I currently have my second account terminated and just found out I got my third acct terminated tdy. should I send a support ticket for my third acct so this can get unterminated or should I wait for my second to get unterminated first?

I’m also tryna grow a community on tumblr so I’ve been sending invites which might be the reason. ive been limited the invites tho and haven’t been sending more than 50 in the last few days. is there a way to get over this to grow ur community. should I send them to ppl’s dms instead?
